Nike Pegasus 40 $170
A springy ride for every run, the Peg's familiar, just-for-you feel returns to help you accomplish your goals. This version has the same responsiveness and neutral support you love but with improved comfort in those sensitive areas of your foot, like the arch and toes. Whether you're logging long marathon miles, squeezing in a speed session before the sun goes down or hopping into a spontaneous group jaunt, it's still the established road runner you can put your faith in, day after day, run after run.
Support: Neutral
The more supportive the shoe, the more stability it can give to your natural stride. A combination of tuned support and intentionally placed cushioning helps you feel secure with every step. The Peg 40 has neutral support. It gives you balance, whether you're a heel or a forefoot striker. It's good for long and short runs, too, providing a smooth transition from heel to toe.

The more cushioning that you have underfoot, the softer and more comfortable your running experience can be. Cushioning helps soften the impact as your feet hit the ground. The more responsive the shoe, the more energy return you can get back with each step. Whether you want to run a little bit faster or with a little less effort, responsive shoes help give you slightly more spring in your step to get more out of your run. We paired Nike React technology with 2 Zoom Air units (1 in the forefoot and the heel) to give you a bouncy, springy sensation and an energised feel at toe-off.
Inviting Fit and Feel
A highly tuned single-layer mesh creates an inviting feel and fit. We redesigned the midfoot strap for a more moulded fit to the foot, shaped for all sized arches.
What's New About the Peg 40?
When we sat down to design the Peg 40, we took an inside-out approach, literally, starting with an implemented midfoot band for a more secure, but forgiving sensation, like the Peg is giving your arch a welcoming, gentle hug. We wanted to make the inner confines of the shoe comfortable, breathable and forgiving in the toes, arch and heel, where your feet are most sensitive, with an engineered circular pattern that allows it to adapt to your foot. Suede material allows it to provide better fit without irritation, from your 1st run to your last run.

I just bought the 39 recently and they were super comfortable compare to the last model I had, the 37...I have yet to try the 40 on but I might have to wait for the next several years for another one.

Pegasus 39 is better when you get them at discounts and sales. Also was wondering if you are planning on reviewing the Vaporfly 3 as they have fixed the stability to a considerable extend, although it is a serious performance shoe, was wondering how it would be rated from a casual perspective.
Defiantly not a good casual shoe only made for race day and that’s it

Just bought it. Definitely a solid shoe.
I tried on the Pegasus 40 for a casual wear perspective. The heel is comfortable but the forefoot felt like any other $70 sneaker. I also tried New Balance FuelCell Rebel V4, and Brooks Ghost Max. I went with a Hoka Clifton 9. Still the most comfortable that I’ve tried. Nothing special about the midsole but damn if they are not the most comfortable for all day wear. Also, since ALL of my runs are easy recovery runs, the Clifton’s just continues to check all the boxes for me. This is my 3rd pair (4’s, 8’s, 9). I used to wear Nike but my try on experience just reaffirms that Nike are more for style than performance or comfort. The Brooks Ghost Max is more comfortable, responsive and stylish than the Hoka Bondi.

I only bought one because it had the crest of my favorite football club, Pumas! Glad to hear it is actually halfway decent shoe, expecially for everyday or for light training
I have the 39 wide. It's a shame that the Pegasus is pretty much the only running shoe that Nike makes in wide, because it's just so...mediocre. Feels like it should be a $100 shoe, tops. NB and Asics are the kings of wide width sneakers, imo.

Had the 29's, too narrow in the heel, great cushion in the forefoot, being a big footer 14 wide, gave them away, went with the invincible run 2 for 90 dollors, great video
If it has React foam in it, it's already a step up from the Pegasus 39, which was a step down from the 38 because it had larger Zoom units AND React.
whut? peg 39 using react, even tho the air zoom is smaller it make more even fast bounce
Facts. I use the 38s for Disney and universal 5-10 miles and switched to 39 and was a huge mistake. The 39s give me fatigue after 4 miles

I have the 39's for 12 months now and I am disappointed with this shoe. I have been with Nike for many years but for AUD 180 these became uncomfortable after using for a while and not really a well balanced shoe, keeps wanting to roll the foot when not 100% flat. Recently bought some high end Adidas and they are alot better in every way. More core support, more stable, lighter and a better feel for running shoes and walking.

I tried these on yesterday. I was wearing my old turbo 2's. I didn't buy them as they felt very firm. The turbo 2's were just too good. Wish they'd bring them back!

The Pegasus 40 does not come in wide. It comes in extra wide which is indeed too wide and only in 3 colors.

For the nfl Pegasus 40, is there a good safe way of removing the team logo decal on the side? Thinking heat would be a good potential way cause it's a decal
ironing works great. It makes it really easy to get off. there was a video a guy posted recently where he used an iron to get the nfl logo off
