Is there another channel offering such comprehensive Pooh coverage? I think not.

41:29 interesting to note with the queue, it was intentionally designed to be underwhelming to mimic other classic fantasyland darkrides. This, along with having the vehicles dispatch in a straight line, hides the fact that this is a trackless E-ticket until the grand reveal in the first scene. To the average guest going in with no prior knowledge, it primes their expectations to be low before absolutely shattering them by the end!

Now that both Ryan and Byron have been to Tokyo Disneysea I want to request Sinbads Storybook Voyage. It was a HIGHLIGHT to my trip

Honestly, the best ride in Disneysea! And i rode all the new rides in Fantasy Springs! (skip Rapunzel if it's more than a 20 minute wait...)

The history of that ride is fascinating in how they turned it around from being slightly scary to utterly charming, mainly by adding Chandu, music from Alan Menken, and changing Sinbad's eyes

seconding this. So glad they're finally covering Tokyo Disney rides... and Sindbad's is the king of them all!!

Dang it all, you all are making me regret missing that one. It was down for maintenance when we went. I did see Fantasy Springs though and everything else but Haunted Mansion, which was down for the conversion to NBC.

That ride kills it and it’s always a 5 minute wait… for like a 15 minute ride.

One of my favorite details is in the dream sequence. There is an extra ride vehicle joining the chaotic scene with heffalumps and woozles that look like tourists. 😆

4:14 "Gentleman's exit." Been there, done that. I like to do Matterhorn though if I'm in the area and it's 5 min before closing time. The cast members are so nice and even though the wait time SAYS 20, in my experience, it's also a walk-on.

C'mon, guys. The thing you mentioned most throughout the video is how long you'll need to wait in the stand-by line and how complicated the reservation system is, but it passes the test for "Does it have a long wait? Does it have a complicated ticket system?"

Your "Is Winnie the Pooh a World Class Attraction?" video from 9 months ago was so entertaining, I'm glad we got a sequel! It really is a shame that Florida and California do not have the same fantastic animatronics as Tokyo, because the stateside versions have the potential to be amazing---the Florida version does a nice job including the main cast a bit more, and the whole rain/flood sequence is my favorite part of that ride. Disneyland in California has such a great woodsy setting for their attraction.

I rode this over the summer and agree, one of the top rides at Disneyland Tokyo.
My armchair engineering would be to have wireless headphones with an English dub using the US animated voices.

18:38 I thought the reason this version was exclusive (juicy scluicy) to Tokyo was because their company paid for it and they pay for exclusive rights to their rides? Hence we'll never see this version, Beauty and the Beast, or any of the Fantasy Springs rides etc. anywhere else.

  • @TheBacklogBuilder

Easily one of the top 5 attractions at all of Tokyo Disney Resort! It’s just an all around cute and amazingly fun attraction that demonstrates why the Tokyo parks do it best. I’ll still give Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure in Fantasy Springs my top spot but that could just be recency bias.

I've never been to any theme parks in the US, but I've been to the Tokyo Disney parks twice, once in 2009 with my whole family, then again this past summer with my sister, so this episode is a real treat!
We made the mistake of getting in line for Honey Hunt around noon (sans fast pass, 1 hour wait) and it was so hot and humid I honestly thought I was going to pass out in the outside queue. Other outside queues have a bit of a breeze and some more shade (eg. Tower of Terror, Disneysea in general has more a breeze because of its location closer to the ocean), but the Honey Hunt queue in summer is totally unforgiving. But it was worth the wait, the ride was just as fun as I remembered from 2009!
Also, we rocked up to the park at 9am just as it opened (on a Tuesday in July) and didn't really have to queue. It only took about 5 minutes to get in, so it seems the park was less crowded than at other times of the year. Yet the Honey Hunt wait time never really dropped below 40min.
And yes, the Tokyo Lighting pass system is super confusing! We missed out on Fantasy Springs because we couldn't figure it out fast enough. Luckily we were able to snag some fast passes for Beauty and the Beast, there's no way I would have survived a 3 hour queue in that heat.

52:31 My wife and I went to Japan for our honeymoon. We spent 3.5 days in the Tokyo Disney Resort with two of those in DisneySea. We only spent the one full day and a little over half a day in Tokyo Disneyland. We weren't reserved about our paid Premier Access use that trip because honeymoon, but I'm sure we didn't spend a fortune (especially with the exchange rate). That said, we definitely were able to do this twice no problem. We also got to do everything in Fantasy Springs including Peter Pan and I think Tangled twice over 2 days. I think you might have juet hit an especially busy time or something?
On another topic, I also LOVED the queue and couldn't disagree more about it starting IN the Hundred Acre Wood. That's what Disneyland's cute little queue is for in CA! And Orlando's is similar I believe. Instead, you follow Christopher Robin. You explore this cute little English garden, see the backyard shed, and then a little bedroom. All of it is FILLED with references to Christopher and his adventures. Then, in the last part of the queue you start to hit the story pages as you follow Christopher Robin out of reality and into the land of the Hundred Acre Wood.

4:00 ride lines closing to cycle off the rides by closing is commonplace across Japan. Pair that with closing times of like 6 at amusement parks and you have a short day :/. Kinda shocked Disney does that too tho I thought it would only be like nagashima and Fuji Q

If you want a good look at the potential of trackless dark ride potential, gotta check out Symbolica at Efteling in the Netherlands. That ride actually has completey different show scenes exclusive to which 'tour' you pick at the beginning.

I would have been happy to have helped, but I'm sure there are other paid followers who would have been happy to help with researching the ride. It's sad that you put this episode in the language barrier slot. Would you say the same for Paris? Hong Kong? Poo-san is crying.
