    Finally. Someone who did the included shock oil mod. So many reviews of this rc truck I’ve seen with people saying it’s to springy and even addressing the problem with the included orings to make to add oil to the shock. 👋

    Brilliant, thanks so much for that! Thanks for taking the time to research and carry out the mod and share your "how-to". That's exactly how a proper TH-cam community should work 🙏

    great video Tyler awesome how to I only run enough oil in my crawler shocks to keep the o rings from drying out lol glad you are like the 24s just glue some washers on the back of the wheels for weight

    • @SteadfastRC

      Yeah they're pretty fun for sure, I ordered some stick on weights so I can wait the backside of the rims

    Why did you edit out the bottom part of the shock removal? Had a hard time? I still can’t get it off and I’m afraid of breaking it?!!!

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Are you talking about getting the shock off of the suspension arm itself?

    Back watching again, just got done putting the O-rings in oil I only had 20 Weight , I think is too heavy but good for now. Yeah much better, when I put the two little O-rings on I put the shaft through the body first then put the O-rings over the shaft and A lot easier plus I use green slime then snapped a little cap back on

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice, yeah the lighter the oil the better on these little things. Im waiting on my metal portal gears to get here then it will be back and running again.

    • @jakemaya5562
      @jakemaya5562 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used 20wt as well and i honestly feel like I messed my shocks up. I'd rather deal with the springyness cause it just feels super stiff now. What shock oil did you end up going with on yours?

  • @QuinnsRC
    @QuinnsRC 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice work! My FCX24 is awaiting its unboxing. I will be doing this right away. You’ve saved me a little fiddling around time. Thanks!

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for the kind words, congrats on the new rig I think you will love it, also just a heads up, if you strip the plastic portal gears fms is warenteeing them for free and replacing them with metal.

    • @QuinnsRC
      @QuinnsRC 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SteadfastRC Thanks, I heard about that. I preemptively ordered some metal portal gears. Did my unboxing yesterday, I broke the front driveshaft. Still runs, but not for long. FMS said they’ll get a new one sent out.

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuinnsRC oh that's kind of surprising, I haven't broken anything yet, I imagine someone will come out with metal driveshafts pretty soon. Did the drive shaft break at the ears or the shaft itself?

    • @QuinnsRC
      @QuinnsRC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteadfastRC It was the ears. I let my 10 yo try it, it got blind up behind a couch cushion lol.

    Great video , I've been looking for one like this to show how to turn them. Into oil shocks. Thanks! One question, can you use just one O ring and keep some articulation??

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Im not sure, I almost tried that today, the o ring gland is made for two but one could work, some oil might leak by though. Let me know if you try it out.
