For the first 15 secs I couldn’t tell which was which. I only figured it out after I realized the camera on the right side kept shaking because of whoever was holding it. Insane. Imagine what it’ll be like in 10 years…
Since the 90's (and probably before), I've been saying "Imagine what it'll be like in x years...". Even with MSFS98, FSX, etc., this is INSANE. Not perfect, of course. I'd be dumb to think it would be. But, the quality is excellent. Sometimes, the biggest noticeable differences are from the time the aerial imagery was done vs. current time or VFR slow n' low with some issues. Even then, if you didn't know the place, you'd see it as very, very realistic. Toss in head/eye tracking, butt kickers, DIY cockpit stuff, VATSIM, etc. and you're well beyond what commercial flight training simulators were 10 years ago, by a long shot. "Imagine what it'll be like in 10 years...". As long as they keep it up and don't stop developing it, it'll make this video look like a PS1 game... :)
The game's graphics are incredible. People who focus on ground level detail kind of miss the point, which is that all of the game's visuals optimally should be viewed from the perspective of an airplane, not street view. When you play the game the way it was designed to be played, the experience is optimal.
@YQualityo It's weird how high quality and low quality on the ground mingle together. For example trees and grass are epic, but then you have the post apocalyptic city streets. Hopefully eventually we get better photogrammetry systems. It's beautiful, but definitely not a walking sim yet.
@@RaccoonRepublicFor many of us, this game has become as much a walking sim as it has become an airplane sim. Do you know why? As you wrote, the graphics in nature are wonderful. And that's the point. Cities cannot be made better with current technology because they are based on images created by satellites. We can travel the entire planet, but it is impossible to model the thousands of cities of the entire planet in true-to-life detail. But even so, there are more famous hand-crafted urban objects that are beautifully crafted. And the game takes up 1.4 Terabytes of space in this form! The point is, the game is beautiful on the ground, in the mountains, in the valleys, on the savannas and on the water's edge, yes in natural environments. It's an amazing experience to travel the planet in nature with such graphic detail!
Damn that's awesome syncing of the two videos, and I actually thought the real one was on the left for a few moments there - I need to set up some cabin window views as it's not something I've ever done in ANY flight sim going back to 1982!!!
Very impressive! The one easy way to tell the difference here though(apart from the obvious camera shake) is the shadows and lighting, notice how the game is a lot brighter, and more crisp-looking, and the shadows are hard lines, as opposed to a soft smudge 👍 I think if they added a camera shake like some of these "realistic" camcorder fps games coming out, with softer shadows, then this would be damn difficult to tell the difference!
Looks pretty incredible. As said, trees issues aside the details look great. (I'm looking forward to the trees being fixed in next few months). That said, I often look at where the sim is and imagine how much better it's all going to look in 5-10 years! Hard to expect better, but its going to be fun to see the development
The replay didn't animate the aileron movement...lol. If that was working and the devs implemented some better wing flex and flap shake/vibration then it would be hard to tell...all of which is totally achievable.
I couldn't tell which one was MSFS 24 until I saw a truck disappear and turn in a weird way , great graphics , I think Microsoft reached photorealism on this one
The big giveaway for msfs is the cars. I do hope they end up remodelling them as the current ones arent that good ATM. I do really love this sims graphics though, 10/10 🎉
I think at this point its the developers choice not to more accurately replicate the less 'clean' and bright look of real video. Because they sure could do it very easily from the looks of this
There seems to be horizon(atmospheric)-subsurface-scattering missing when looking into the distance (on the Flight Simulator)... this makes it look a tad less realistic. But this is nice stuff :)
im sure that it would look 100% real if all you did was give the camera some grain and other effects to make it look like it was taken from a real camera, because in msfs you get a perfect view of everything, theres no phone camera resolution, and other specs that its going through before you see it, so adding filters and stuff like that would make it look a lot better, and also realistic camera shake, someones gotta do that for a video and compare it to real life like that because im pretty sure it would be 100% perfect, also how tf did you manage to sync it so perfectly lol, great job
i spotted it right a way the colors and reflection on the real is different the PIXEL version on the left view is too dull in the colors but it's close yes
very nice, but I don't understand why the wings in fs can't be more shaky like the real thing. If that would have matched I'd seriously had a hard time guessing
Very good - when you say 'ultra graphics in 4K', is that an add-on which one has to pay extra for, or is it just a setting within the simulator itself?
I wrote my own flight sim which doesn't have graphics nearly as good as this, but with a lot more wing flex and shake I think it feels more real than this- that and smoother shading with some grime and blur, they are very close, the discrepancies seem pretty superficial at this point.
Pretty much default ultra in 4K with DLSS for this to avoid frame drops. This video is where there’s photogrammetry so that could also be a factor, a lot of ground textures still seem low res even with all settings maxed out and gigabit download speeds
Hi have subbed your channel and follow you regularly. As a senior I am learning but have a problem with moving aircraft over to 2024 from 2020. I tried to move the a380 over with no luck. It says installed but does not show up. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?Thx
It depends on the aircraft from the ones I’ve tried. Items bought in the marketplace should be automatically moved, it could be that some need an update to work properly. Hopefully the next update next week will allow for more to be used
Still looks too 'clean'. See how there is a haze between the wing and the camera? But in the game the "atmosphere" between the wing and camera is just perfect clarity?
This is the longest it ever took me to realize which one is real life lol Noticed which one was real life when one of the fking vehicles vanished into thin air on the road XD
Does MSFS really gets data from reallife? Thats awesome... but i think it is required to have a stable internet connection huh? Never played the game... but it looks so awesome and inviting...
Seems like the real-life landing strip is not very well maintained! Simulator rendering has a picture-perfect scenery of every asset. I prefer the matrix, not real-life then!. Awesome timing btw.
I have to admit I had to initially guess for the first 10 seconds or so which was real at first though I notice one dead giveaway is always the way real life "washes out" in the distance whereas the sim looks artificial in the distance no matter how much tries to "massage it" with weather settings. There is this "gritty haze" in real life that just doesn't seen to exist in any sim yet. Of course once you get closer to the ground and you see the exaggerated water reflections, roads and vehicles it spoils the effect. I am also a bit surprised that in 2024 they have not found a way with their AI to make all the parking lots look even half decent. Sorry to be critical but one cannot help being thus when it is specifically a comparison video and titled as such.
The way you synched this is incredible
Agreed. Only the time of day seems wrong (shadow in one and not in the other).
Time of day and year is matched to the footage, the shadow is more due to the clouds letting through more light
@@TropicalTech2 what gives away the fact its a sim is the ParkingLot.png
@@SimonGrayDK The shadows are definitely there, just notice that they're quite a bit softer in real life.

Took me a few sec also, and the shaking was the only obvious give away. Playing this would probably melt my computer though.
Realistically? Not too much better. Look at most games from 10 years ago, they don't look much better than now, with the odd exception.
Since the 90's (and probably before), I've been saying "Imagine what it'll be like in x years...". Even with MSFS98, FSX, etc., this is INSANE. Not perfect, of course. It took me half the video to make sure I knew which video game was the real one.
Of course it did
Stop being stupi_. You can see in thumbnail which one is which.
Really? You can see it very fast on the unreal shadows
What? While msfs is pretty realistic, its very clear which one is real life
Because the guy fly whis max graphics in flat places whis a good generation... but else it's 2020

I'm happy I've lived to see the full trajectory of this sim, from 1984 to now
The trees in MSFS 2024 are way overgrown. Other than that - very true to life
Well, it may be the result of climate change (too much carbon in the MSFS 2024's atmosphere) which trees and other vegetation thrive on! Hahahahaha!
Real life needs to up its game.
So true
So so true!

Man this is just the single best video showcasing msfs24 out there
Agree, brilliantly made video
This is so very cool! And syncs very well, while landing!!
Synched up perfectly. And looks so good too 🔥 FS2024 seems like a worthy upgrade from 2020
They certainly nailed the color saturation this time, wow. 24 is gonna be killer when matured with updates, locally cached addons etc etc

IMO what get's it done over MSFS2020 is the lower contrast in the ground textures which makes it less movie like but way more realistic
road and vehicles at the last moment in the sim killed it for me

bravo to the french studio Asobo, it's incredible!
WOW 😮😮😮 The realism of this is absolutely incredible 👍👍👍 Really awesome way of showing how good flight simulator is !!!!
The warping of the anti-shake was a dead giveaway that the right side was the RL video.

I have never seen a more realistic video in my life
This has to be a trick, they both look real
Look at the wing, the left looks so fake
Wow. It's only the screen space reflections that give it away
The ailerons are not doing anything. but i suppose thats a replay glitch. Which asobo still didn't fix....
Can't wait to get a Thomas Cook livery on that A330.
1:07 new warehouse completed!
left more shaky and wash out filter, then its perfect. nicely done with the timing!
If the shadows were softer, it'd be really hard to determine which one is real from a first look.
Very cool! Thanks.
He difference?
1 water reflection
2 the flaps are moving to counter wind movement on right while in wok it doesn’t move
There seems to be horizon(atmospheric)-subsurface-scattering missing when looking into the distance (on the Flight Simulator)... this makes it look a tad less realistic. But this is nice stuff :)
Yeah I agree, early in FS2020 you could change aerosol density to get this effect but that got removed and isn’t in 2024 either
Just incredible
The shadows edges on the fairings is too sharp; but still an impressive comparison
