For drywall tracking, 3/4" pins are commonly used. Low velocity tools aren't as powerful as the old high velocity tools, and 3/4 inch penetration into concrete is the norm for them. Of course, green concrete gets better penetration. My shepherd gets nosy about my powder tools also.

There might be a dial or knob on the gun to adjust the strength. Or you could buy stronger shots if the two inch is not going in.
