    This is the best concrete gun I’ve used . Simple design / powerful/ easily potable/ fit small space /never never ever jam. Way better than others(including hilti latest version ). Old School never die……

    You got blowout and cracked the paving stone because you used too high power "Red" load. Should use green first and work your way up if it is not enough power. Green, then yellow, then red. Also the material you are fastening into should be 3x the length of the fastener.

      Green was for super thin metal block or concrete usually block yellow on concrete red on steel

    This is way more fun than a wedge anchor tho. At work we just drill a hole in the cement, and in the wood. Then pound in a big nail with a piece of wire.

    I was in a vessel once doing some XP proofing on electrical system, when a guy decided he needed to hilti shot the basket tray in, and not yell shot first. Even with ear plugs my crews ears were ringing hahah.

    The Hilti model you hit with a hammer and it shot is more accurate but like you said a violent tool that needs to be respected when using.
    Great to set your material on concrete at a green color 60-75% cured so u don't get that cracking and chip in. Awesome video

    I was attaching 1x4 to brick re hanging sheet rock in apartment some years back when I was doing maintenance work hilta gun blowing nails all way through brick I ended up just build wall out 2x4 and attaching it o ceiling and floor

      That’s the best way, I actually rarely use this gun any more. I prefer to drill and use wedge anchors.

    Cool video, by the way this is a tool not a gun - Low velocity powder actuated fastening tool to be precise. When fired, 80% of the kinetic energy in the cartridge/shot gets transferred to an internal piston which drives the nail into steel or concrete (green/yellow concrete red/black steel). Guns fire bullets at high velocities. Tip always use ballistic rated safety googles when handling these tools ;)

  • @mdelatorre
    @mdelatorre 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there an advantage if you get a fastening tool with a power dial like the dx 351?

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it just gives you more options. Concrete can either be very hard if it’s old or very soft when is new. Also depends on its strength, so having the ability to adjust your tool would be nice.

    • @OgGuak420
      @OgGuak420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds just as loud as a hand gun and even louder if you’re inside a building framing studs/ tracks, you’re required to say “ fire in the hole” every time you shoot it

    • @teemuitkonen6826

    So, I'm writing a novel, where my protagonist is stuck in a 7 story building under construction on the top floor, she finds one of these,.
    What it destroyed doorlock? ?
    Would there be a way to fire it without compressing the nose and on a flat surface?

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cool! you can fire it if you pull back the nose with your fingers, it would probably damage the lock but it wouldn't wreck it to the point of being able to open it. but you could say that it did. A good example of a movie where they over embellished what a nail gun can do is one of the lethal weapon movies. Murdok shoots a nail gun at an intruder. it looked cool but it wasn't accurate to how it actually works.

    • @truthmatters4654
      @truthmatters4654 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hammerandhome Funny I just wrote the line where she shot it into the lock at the same exact moment that my tablet notified me of your message.
      Thank you for your reply.
      I made sure that I stated that it was the red loads not the yellow or green which are weaker from what I understand.
      Also mentioning that the nails have washers on them which may be would have destroyed the lock a little bit more I'm hoping are I used to have one of these things, Somebody had left it behind and I had kept it though I had nothing to load it with and wasn't sure what to do with it I wound up selling it on eBay or marketplace or something this was years ago probably not marketplace.
      Probably craigslist.
      Anyway I may write you back at some point in time and ask you other Tech questions I have a couple of other people I'm asking as well good to get a few opinions if you don't mind.
