There is a push to have mandatory remote cut-offs on rooftop solar in Australia as a way to deal with excess energy when the weather conditions are ideal for renewables. This is seen as better than knocking out multi-million dollar commercial generators that need to make profits. No electricity will be sold to the grid during these periods.
@@xyrus29 Renewables are erratic with generators dependent on weather. The peaks and troughs cause instability in the grid and blackouts. A reliable renewable energy grid requires a huge surplus of energy on on good days to have enough capacity to cover the days when the wind dies and the sun don't shine. On good days some generators need to be isolated from the grid and it will be rooftop solar . Big Climate who have invested in solar and wind farms will get first dibs on supplying energy.

Is this in relation to the feed in tariffs dropping to zero in the future?

You're incorrect on the efficiency. The 420 is 21.8%. The 430 is the one that's 22.3%
Thank you Lindsey! You're absolutely right. We''ll put a note in the description to clarify.
no mention of PRICE?!
