It's a brilliantly written song. Not just the chorus. The verses are really well structured. No reason to shit on it because the verses aren't in English.
The starting lines are pretty much saying diego is blitzed he has the stars in his eyes because hes high his suit has remains of contraband (coke) he cant sing the song because he is too fucked up so rappers delight comes out as giberish there its explained faster without all the extra nonsense
THIS is why trolls rule the world! Anyone who was between the ages of 8 and 30 in 1978 would KNOW the reference of this song! Everyone else who has NEVER heard "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang would get conned like a chump.
Mate, you nailed it. I was thinking the same, for anyone who loved (and still do) Sugar Hill Gang’s Rapper’s delight, the Aserejé song is so damn obvious that any diabolical origin just sounds ridiculous.
The singers themselves confessed, that they didn't know English and wanted to do a similar song, so they imitated the sounds as best as they could and make it sound nice, as they hear the song Rapper's Delight and to their own Flamenco rhythm; someone made a comparison word for word and a Spanish language phonetic approximation, it was pretty close match, but of course off English phonetic sounds
A lot of people feeling dumb in 3...2...Look, at the time I had no clue what the hell they were talking about in the song (and I'm Hispanic), but to assume that it was "demonic"? No way. Ridiculous.
2:06 Time to get an updated map of Europe. Your map still shows East Germany, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, ie pre 1990. The Ketchup song was released in 2002.

People need to ignore the official spelling of the chorus: Aserejé ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba majabi an de bugui an de buididipí. This is meaningless! Rather, if you just LISTEN to the chorus, you will notice that it’s ACTUALLY in English: I said, “A-hey, ha! A-hey! The heavy to the heavy, Ray Sevvy! You know Val Mojave, and the boogie, and the ‘brie de D.B.’” where: The “Heavy to the heavy” is a large muscular man employed as a backup to the nightclub bouncer (“the heavy”); Ray Sevvy (Raimundo Severiano) is the name of that backup bouncer; Val Mojave is Valentin, the Mojave (Native American) disc jockey at the nightclub; The ‘brie de D.B.’ is disco dancer Diego Bravo’s (D.B.’s) favourite French cheese, which he likes to eat with tomato ketchup (hence the name of the song). Sorted! 😁
Oh It is just how Spanishgirls heard English and they just made a song out of what they heard. Very Similar to me hearing my English nursery rhymes and trying to sing out of what I heard. When I sang it was comedic and all laughed and when they sang it was jackpot and got on charts
Diego can't speak English so he make up the words, and Asereje is the way Diego sings Rapper's delight. Just like the lady who sings Ken Lee (with out you) th-cam.com/video/vUAaHkGpJy8/w-d-xo.html :P
I am extremely surprised that a so well educated; intelligent and talented writer and singer such as Juan Luis Guerra would fall for an internet conspiracy which is simply destroyed by a little investigation into the source of the song and lyrics. Juan Luis Guerra Studied in the USA and is very familiar with freedom of speech… he is in my view the best Song writer and singer of Dominican Bachata o merengue … but Wow … didn’t see the Censorship part of his brain … perhaps he should concentrate on other Dominican Singers which lyrics are obviously and clearly of sexual exploits of women, bad words violence etc. He still is the king of Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 Music …

Ok dummy narrator, it's not because americans don't like something because it's has a latin or south american accent. That's pretty shallow and pushes a false narrative. It's more of the english accents that are annoying. Along with New York and New Jersey. Armpits of the the US.
This song hides a time traveling spell
I'm just too curious about everything.
same same

No yeah they are definitely witches

The reason why their father was called el tomate was because he was a trumpet player and he would turn tomato red when he blew his trumpet

strongly agree!

My girls mom thought it was a devil song haha
Mate, you nailed it. I was thinking the same, for anyone who loved (and still do) Sugar Hill Gang’s Rapper’s delight, the Aserejé song is so damn obvious that any diabolical origin just sounds ridiculous.
I’m still amazed on how after only hearing this song once in 2007 or 8 without knowing the name, I’m just hearing it again today.
Aserejé
my mom is very catholic but she loves this song and never believed it was demonic. i think people just overreact to things
This is more of an evangelic thing , calling everithing " satanic .
And it turns out that ASEREJE was a Spanglish version of RAPPER'S DELIGHT. Good thing that we now have the Internet to debunk misconceptions.
I love how absolutely silly the whole song is
Damn. I was genuinely interested in why people thought it was “Satanic “. This video was very informative thank you!
music cannot possibly be satanic.. what you need to research is the 440/441 Hz controversy..
Because in the lyrics of las ketchups they mention brujería which translates to witchcraft
@@loganwolfpack they mentioned that word but if anything it is saying that Diego doesn't really in Witchcraft.

Hmm that album cover at 2:50 looks like inverted 666

Mira lo que se avecina
A la vuelta de la esquina
Viene Diego rumbeando
Con la luna en las pupilas
Y su traje agua marina
Parece de contrabando
Y donde mas no cabe un alma
Allí se mete a darse caña
Poseido por el ritmo ragatanga
Y el dj que lo conoce
Toca el himno de las doce
Para Diego la cancion mas deseada
Y la baila, y la goza y la canta
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí
No es cosa de brujería
Que lo encuentre to's los días
Por donde voy caminando
Diego tiene chulería
Y ese punto de alegría
Rastafari afrogitano
Y donde mas no cabe un alma
Alli se mete a darse caña
Poseido por el ritmo ragatanga
Y el dj que lo conoce
Toca el himno de las doce
Para Diego la cancion mas deseada
Y la baila, y la goza y la canta
Aserejé, ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba
Majabi an de bugui an de buididipí

man thats a great video, please more of it. wake up bruv
Released on : May 28 , , 1002
Literally skip to 5:50 for the explanation everything else was just alot of unnecessary talking
People need to ignore the official spelling of the chorus:
Aserejé ja deje tejebe tude jebere sebiunouba majabi an de bugui an de buididipí.
This is meaningless! Rather, if you just LISTEN to the chorus, you will notice that it’s ACTUALLY in English:
I said, “A-hey, ha! A-hey! The heavy to the heavy, Ray Sevvy! You know Val Mojave, and the boogie, and the ‘brie de D.B.’”
where:
The “Heavy to the heavy” is a large muscular man employed as a backup to the nightclub bouncer (“the heavy”);
Ray Sevvy (Raimundo Severiano) is the name of that backup bouncer;
Val Mojave is Valentin, the Mojave (Native American) disc jockey at the nightclub;
The ‘brie de D.B.’ is disco dancer Diego Bravo’s (D.B.’s) favourite French cheese, which he likes to eat with tomato ketchup (hence the name of the song).
Sorted! 😁
Thank you for your investigation work on this. Still a very catchy tune.❤

LOVED the tweet about kanye and paul mccartney! hey, wasn't revolution #9 also supposed to be satanic? the more things change, right?
"Same nonsensical chorus" said it all 🤣
Basically "Asereje" is "Rapper's Delight" quoted a la "Ken Lee"?!

Ive always knonw this about this song
What I found funny was I was that I thought it sounded like that song but I was like it’s just coincidental
I really thought is song meant something in Spanish and asereje means ketchup in Spanish 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

mindblowing!
The song is so catchy. I am from the US, but have a working knowledge of Spanish. Why do people have to make something bad out of something good?
“One hit wonders” shows Lil Nas X 😕 he couldn’t be more wrong
But is says “look at Diego rooming around it says people see him around the corner and it says something about witch craft in there
so the words are butcherd imitation, of another person's buthered English as he tries to sing a rap song.
and people said it is Satan lol
“Considering how they usually react to accents of a Latin nature?”
