AHH! I'm so glad to see this style video on your channel again! You inspired me to start back taking Spanish classes this year and yesterday was my first time ever having a full on conversation with my instructor without any mistakes. Please keep doing these videos, they're more inspirational than you know .
thank you so much for being vulnerable with us about trauma of speaking russian, i feel the panic when speaking the lauguages i am learning but never heard anyone really talked about it, so it is very relatable and helpful! keep it up :)
I'm Russian and I've been learning English for 3 years by myself. I wish you good luck, because Russian language is really hard xD I hated it in school!
ur language videos were the reason why i followed u and it felt so nostalgic and motivating to watch this! it’s amazing how u push urself out of ur comfort zone to learn and i think that gave me the final push to finally book an italki lesson myself 💓
it's amazing how much progress you've made! I came to your channel from your first video in Spanish and I've always watched your videos to help me with my Spanish progress and now you're learning bahasa Indonesia, as an Indonesian myself I can say your pronunciation is so good ❤
So excited for you! You're doing great. Speaking can sometimes be discouraging, I know I sometimes experience that with the languages I speak/I'm learning, Keep on going!!!! 🙌💕
I've been learning russian (from UK) for about a year and a half, and found your experience with it so interesting. would love to see more in future vids!
Hi there, I’ve been following you for a while and something that i am quite impressed is your pronunciation, it’s really clear in each language you speak. I meant your intonation/pronunciation and rythm is perfect. My first language is Spanish and could notice that,i still figure it out how to improve it, some guru coachs say imitation is the clue. Congrats in your journey!
I loved this style of video! Your vlogs always feel like a fun little facetime session with my friend, and this one even more! I'm so glad to see you back at the language content, since they're my favourite videos!!
Anna!!
I haven't even finished this video but I HAD TO say this before I forget (because rip my memory) but the little french you spoke at like 2:06 was just so A D O R A B L E you pronounced it perfectly btw yasss but it was just so cute loved it you go girl :'')
I recently discovered your videos on foreign languages and I really like them. I'm learning several languages and I also teach French, so I can relate to your moments of frustration and your moments of success, it's all part of the learning journey. And as for learning Russian, I understand that this language has a real personal meaning for you (family, etc.), but don't be too hard on yourself, with time it'll get better, you can do it !
Im a 17 year old boy that ,to my knowledge, has Andalusian ancestry (im talking about the controlled areas of the Iberian peninsula under the Muslims) and i really wanted to learn spanish to connect with my brothers and sisters in Spain . You really inspired me
I love your language learning videos they r so inspiring. I know an amazing tutor on preply who is from Indonesia and speaks fluent English, Indonesian, and her local language 😊
It only begins to be a little complicated when it deals with affix/suffix (di-, me-, me-kan etc), but still easy to learn if you know the key and even ok if u use only the basic affix "di-" and "me". Because the history of Indonesia has long contact with foreign nations, so many words of Indian origin (Sankrit and Tamil), Arabic origin, Chinese origin as well as Portuguese (like bolu-cake, boneka-doll, bangku-bench, almari-cupboard etc), Spanish (meja-table, bendera-flag, kaldu-broth etc) and of course many Dutch and English words. When you say: "saya suka bahasa Rusia", the four words are of foreign origin: "saya" from Sanskrit (sahaya), "suka" from Sanskrit (sukha), "bahasa" from Sanskrit (bhasa).
Having seen the full video your Russian part was so good. U did great! U know SO much vocabulary comfortably. To be honest you really just need to spend MORE time soaking in Russian content. Tv shows, movies and podcasts, TH-cam Vlogs. Then all the Russian sentences and structures will be top of mind for you when u need to plug in all the vocab you know. If your brain spends more time in Russian, you won’t think “in English “ as much! 😊 🙌🏾. Find yourself a good series to watch!
I so feel your emotions after your Russian lesson. I have the same exact reaction after all my language lessons. I have to go decompress and hide. It is so exhausting fighting harsh self-judgement. It is like coming out of the boxing ring after several rounds. And I’m the one punching myself!!! lol
In 2 months I have to take a speaking exam of English, it's too difficult for me to talk because I don't know when I'm wrong. But, thank you so much for your videos, you make me feel motivated with all your afford ❤ ❤
What ur saying about russian i have the same about Lithuaniain. Im bilingual but at the same time my lithunian is much worse than russian. I was born in Lithuania but my I would talk to my family, friends, at school in russian. So I've become quite shy about my speaking skill. Even though I understand 90% of what people say, I am not fluent and I feel stuck once in a while when I talk to Lithuanian people. I feel like it's the social pressure that gives me this feeling. As if we HAVE to be fluent because you're was born with this language. But its not that simple. Our language gets worse if we don't practice. And now living in the UK, I wish to talk to Lithuanian people and I want to practice it more!
Don't worry your not alone Arnold Schwarzenegger is from Austria and he came to the US when he was in his 20s and now he can barely speak German though he still speaks with a Austrian accent
hiii! yesterday i had to speak english and when i saw the russian section in this video, i realized that i felt the same, at least i think so. also i do love your english accent! но я не преподаватель, если что) anyway, waiting for the second part!!
Hi to everyone who wants to practice russian! I'm native russian girl who is trying to learn Spanish and talking in English. And I'm finding someone to chat for practice. Maybe it's you? 😊
Hi, I would love to learn russian someday but currently I don't have time to do that 🤧 but I can help with spanish (I am not native but I am on an advanced level) ☺️
the way u get stressed abt russian is literally the same thing my braincells go through before i speak chinese HAHAH i remember watching these vlogs years ago! always enjoyed them :))
I can completely understand your feelings about the russian question. Language Traumas are real. Unfortunately I experienced multiple panick attacks with mandarin. I am not fluent yet, and my mandarin doesn't sound as natural as a native speaker's. I was filled with hope when I had the opportunity to talk with natives to improve, yet I didn't take into account the pressure I would've faced. I got completely humiliated by native speakers and some even compared me to other mandarin learners. Now I'm completely traumatized and can't study at all.
You need to find places .+. more open people like websites like italki, Hello talk, etc. + teachers & students who are in situations like yours. Also, there are social media for language learners. Speak +. other fellow students.
@samaval9920 thank you for replying! the thing happened online, on HelloTalk. Therefore, I'm not particularly fond of language apps, and I wouldn't recommend them in situations like this. For those experiencing the same issue, I would suggest learning with a tutor, as at least they are qualified to make you feel like shit ;)
U r too critical of yourself, your Russian is perfect! Don't be afraid of learning Russian. There is nothing to be afraid of, it 's absolutely normal that u forget your native language if u don't use it 100% . Anna, I'm proud of you 💖 Keep going, please 🙏🥺

It's amazing to see how hard you try , and how tough it is.

Your Russian is really great! I’m telling you as a native speaker. So in my opinion you don’t have any reasons to feel embarrassed speaking Russian. ❤
