These are pretty amazing little animals. With their bigger than life personality's. The adorable noises. Plus, the vocal interaction with their owners. They're great to any addition of a family. I've had several piggies over the years. I don't miss the constant cleanup with them
The cleanup is the only downside. I do it for my piggers because I love them :) I think they are just as much fun as a dog or cat, and far less maintenance/care is required. They don't get separation anxiety. They just nibble their dry food and go to sleep until I come home and then it's time to squeal for treats!

What annoys ME to NO END is, it's acceptable in our culture to make fun of animals like guinea pigs or rabbits, but if you DARE to look sideways at a DOG, woe betide you. Many who say they "love animals" only love dogs, and they're treated like little gods. I hate that! 😡
