- In this video, I demonstrate the differences and benefits of the podium ladder over a step ladder Overall I feel much safer on the podium ladder than a step ladder and the podium ladder allows you to turn 360 degrees without moving the ladder.

Werner correctly refers to the ladders height as how far the platform is from the ground.
Retailers often refer to the overall length or “equivalent” height. That’s where a lot of confusion comes from.
Appreciate the video. I do encourage anyone to consider a podium/ platform ladder bc they are so much safer and more comfortable over extended periods of time

Still pretty shaky up there. You should add some additional anti-tip means - a stabilizer at the bottom, or better yet some kind of horizontal safety - OSHA style! For a construction like that, since you will need continuing (safe) access to the roof, it should be integral to the plans. Real ladder safety through secondary fall prevention - it's a new thing! Didn't have that when I was still young and smart enough to avoid heights.

Thanks for a great video/demonstation. How is the balance of this ladder on grass surfaces, I would be putting lights on trees, pruning trees.

Hi Jim, thanks for the question. If the ground is not flat or haven't even surface then I would not recommend this ladder. For uneven ground, significant slopes, soft areas were a leg would sink in, I would recommend the Werner three-legged ladder. I have videos where I use them for pruning and harvesting fruit and nuts from trees in our food forests. However, if your area that you'll be working on is level and flat, the podium ladder will work just fine. I hope this is helpful.

Hi Gary sorry it's taking me so long to get back to you. The height of the podium that you stand on when at the top of the ladder is at 11 ft 6 in for our 12 ft podium ladder. Hope this is helpful and again sorry for the delay. Have an awesome day!
@@GrowingABetterTomorrow Thanks but I'm confused their web site states around 9 ft 6 inches on the 12 foot podium ladder? not 11 ft 6 inches.
In construction for nearly 20 years. The podium ladders are no good. They are slightly taller which makes it useless if you have a exact 10 foot or 8 foot ceiling.
Gives me the heebie geebies you being up that high. Be careful. Maybe a spotter?
