Nice job I want to know is it still necessary to apply for a permit now? Because I saw on the Internet that it is no longer necessary to apply for a permit. Thank you
you need to check that with your council
There is a reason I-beams are now required to support a weight of the remaining chimney breast/stack... a bracket just does not cut it, as the whole load will now be carried by a party wall. Structural engineer will explain further, or Building Control department (you need a building notice for this type of work).
Hi. Yes i know that and my client got a certificate for that. Hi done the aplication to the council him self and all was passed by the building control. And now still beams are not always required
Hey what bolts and resin did you use on the job?

Hi, great video. Was the neighbours chimney breast also taken out? If so would an RSJ be required here or gallow brackets be sufficient? Thanks.
Hi this is a end of terrace house so no neighbours. To be 100% Safe i would recommend a rsj beam going all the way along the wall and seated on the external walls but all that to be checked with a structural engineer
Hi , where are you based ?

Why not remove the whole chimney, the stack and everything?
it's not allowed
Is that because it’s a conservation area, can’t change the look outside?
@@Rev033 not really the client just wanted like that
Are there any plans on removing the chimney stack. Thanks
No just the council application and building control
Nice job. Do i need to support the chimney while im installing the gallows bracket?
Yes you do for best practice if not you risk e few brick's to fall and then you will have more work to do
Nooice!
