Great question. There are not sunflower grown in the state of Iowa, other than maybe small plots for wildlife. I know there is some as you get into the plains states. My personal experience with sunflowers was when I had a business trip to Russia ~5yrs ago, I helped to plant a sunflower seed plot! Huge commodity in that country, similar to corn in the USA. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing! Now I also want to grow corn...
Glad you enjoyed it! Corn is a fascinating crop, in all the things it may be used to make. Remember, thank a farmer 😊
Good stuff! Can't beat a fresh ear of sweet corn :)
You got that right! Archie agrees.
Thanks for information. Not something I know about here in England as a hobby grower in 1/4 acre.
Oh wow, thank you for watching from England! I've been to 5 of 7 continents, but interestingly, not Europe (yet!). Take good care!
This was an informative video. I learned something new, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
Interesting video. Thank you.
Apparently, field or dent corn holds the all-time world record for most food value or calories produced per acre.
Glad you enjoyed. I wouldn't be surprised by that fact, lots of energy in corn.
This was so fascinating! I have never been to the Midwest. Are there sunflower fields?

@@LearnedFromDad Thank you for sharing! 🤠
I had no idea they destroyed male rows James! I've learned something new! Thanks! JR
Yep! Need to ensure their seed isn't mixed in with the female seed. Wanted for their pollen only and then smack, gone! 😀
EXCELLENT James!!!
Thanks! That was a fun one....Iowans know their corn 😁
Hi James, I enjoyed that tour, are the farms still family owned? They look a lot bigger scale than our UK farms.
Thanks for the comment. In my experience and travels, yes, the majority are still family/privately owned. How about the UK? Thanks for watching!
@@LearnedFromDadyes ,family owed and long may that continue,
