As long as we hit 65 mph and the rpm's are between 7500 and 8000, we are happy. Those clutch springs don’t affect top speed but takeoff speed. The stiffer the springs, The higher RPM launch you get from a dead stop. I just so happened to pull the highest speed I have yet when I did this. If you were doing a lot of stopping and going I would not recommend going past 1000 pound springs so you can barely twist the throttle and leave instead of revving it up and then leaving like I do now, For me it’s a blast and I get off the line really quick but for constant stop and go traffic I would not think it would be too fun that’s just my input my man, thank you though, there’s more to come 👍

Cant you just buy this complete with good springs? I see the whole rear clutch in full sold for $30 (Which i need) id gate to buy fir $30 then take apart and upgrade opposed to just buying it ready to go for a few extra bucks
Yeah but those performance clutches already assembled come with red 2000lb & a red 2000lb contra spring. WAY too high for mostly any application. This is the perfect middle ground and it rips as well as not over revving the motor (like red springs will do) and cause premature failure. This isnt a race bike, it’s still a daily driver. A sport scooter if you will
I got the same contra spring setup but with 6 gram rollers have you tried heavier rollers I have to rev mine up too and yeah it rips curious what heavier rollers would do like 8 gram
Actually the video right before this is when I did install the smallest increment of heavier rollers I went from 5.0 to 5.5’s End it negatively affected my bike both in Acceleration and top speed. I’ve done heavier rollers than that before and it was absolutely horrible. This is due to my gear ratio so my CVT Simply does not like heavier rollers. Your bike could be different though it doesn’t hurt to try I would go up in smallest increments at a time and run numbers to compare
It’s just a good idea for better off the line and accelerating performance. Yes, and with these Chinese bikes if you have one, cheap too Outside of the tools to do it yourself But no you do not “need” to install a short ramp variator or lighter/heavier rollers/sliders Again, It’s a good idea to do each individual upgrade to your transmission one at a time to achieve the best possible performance you can keep achieving greater and greater performance with each upgrade. Sometimes you will get less performance though, and that’s why you just go back to what you had originally do each thing individually one at a time to achieve perfect harmony.

What I did is I took the clutch off and brought it with me in my hand to AutoZone and I fit in one on there until one fit
BUT The variator nut is a 12 mm socket
K man let’s do this bra
Cant you just buy this complete with good springs? I see the whole rear clutch in full sold for $30 (Which i need) id gate to buy fir $30 then take apart and upgrade opposed to just buying it ready to go for a few extra bucks
Yeah but those performance clutches already assembled come with red 2000lb & a red 2000lb contra spring.
WAY too high for mostly any application.
This is the perfect middle ground and it rips as well as not over revving the motor (like red springs will do) and cause premature failure.
This isnt a race bike, it’s still a daily driver.
A sport scooter if you will
thats sick im gonna do this to mine
U are in the right spot
I think u have to make them smiler them round things
Do i need to adjust something in the variator to install a better clutch and clutch springs
It’s just a good idea for better off the line and accelerating performance.
Yes, and with these Chinese bikes if you have one, cheap too
Outside of the tools to do it yourself
But no you do not “need” to install a short ramp variator or lighter/heavier rollers/sliders
Again, It’s a good idea to do each individual upgrade to your transmission one at a time to achieve the best possible performance you can keep achieving greater and greater performance with each upgrade. Sometimes you will get less performance though, and that’s why you just go back to what you had originally do each thing individually one at a time to achieve perfect harmony.
@@davidhofinger4927 i have a keeway matrix 50 and its my first time tuning anything in the transmission and another question is do i need to adjust variator spring with clutch springs?
@@ivan-pašti there is no variator springs brother
Just, variator & roller/slider weights.
You can do each individual transmission upgrade individually separately at whatever one you choose to do first. It does not matter.
Here’s a list of things you can do in your transmission
1. Variator
2. Rollers/sliders
3. Belt
4. Clutch assembly
5. Clutch springs
6. Contra spring
7. Clutch bell
Watch this video I made explaining the guide and how to upgrade your scoot

@@davidhofinger4927 i meant contra spring sorry and thank you very much this helped a lot
I have a bd50qt-2a stock 12inch wheels
will a 1500 springs help my acceleration I'm 140lbs by the way it revs high on take on feels like no torque but alot of horsepower
The clutch springs do nothing but allow your bike to leave from a dead stop at a higher RPM, It will not change your acceleration once you’re rolling only from a dead stop
@davidhofinger4927 ok thanx for replying u appreciate it I been subscribed
@@Pau11984 Thank you man I appreciate it a whole lot I never did this for views just to help out the community with Things that I did not know when I first started.
The only reason content has slowed Down a bit it’s because of the winter season but I will be making a video on how to winterize your scooter this weekend. But come next season towards spring I will be right back to my normal schedule upgrading and modifying and making videos along the way
@davidhofinger4927 ok that's good I'll definitely keep watching bro ....
Hey Dave, what was the result of your 49/17 final drive gear install?
I have been looking at a couple different ones, the 49/17 and a 52/15 and really have no idea which has what advantages.
47mm bbk,20mm(ported filter side)cvk carb/96jet,carbon fiber intake tube with cone filter, ported head, larger diameter fuel lines, 150cc vac fuel pump, glixal variator with 3x 4.5g & 3x 5g rollers, orange cdi and coil, ngk iridium plug, deleted egr, 69mm valves, open exhaust, advance timing at pickup, gutted muffler, several "speed holes"😅 in plastics to cool head, Harley windshield. Max speed is 55 downhill and 44 flat ground cruising speed, 25-30 uphill. Pretty happy performance-wise, but any gains especially off the line acceleration are welcomed. Looking for genuine a9 performance cam as well.
The result after the installation of the gears it was a consistent 47 mph they picked me up 3 to 4 mph in the top end after that I built my transmission to get me up to the speed faster I can achieve that on flat ground easily now
@@davidhofinger4927 awesome! Thanks for the reply
Your clutch pads on the back order on Amazon the racing clutch and you'll be wider thicker and longer clutch pads and it comes with the clutch Bell get the fancy clutch belt that cools better and bites the pads better so check in on that it's not that much get rid of that stock clutch Bell you have
I already got rid of that stock clutch Bell for an NCY Bell, I’m happy with my clutch I’m happy with that bike it’s pretty much dialed in for life I’m going to put more money into my two-stroke to get it up to par
My stock icebear 50cc only does 30 what do you recommend for more speed cheap
Check out this video I made last year it is exactly what you’re looking for for your questions to get your scooter fit and quick th-cam.com/video/Tu9AC3tVXGc/w-d-xo.html
💋AMAZING💋
Why thank you random fan 😂💋
Hello brother , scooter initial pick up is very poor , how we increase pick up ?
I have made a video for exactly this question that explains how to do so in smooth detail, here you go brother th-cam.com/video/Tu9AC3tVXGc/w-d-xo.html

What app do you use to see the speed?
It’s Simply called “Speedometer”
It is in the App Store it has a black logo with a speedometer on it I still use it to this day

How big was the socket you had to use to disassemble the clutch?
1''7/16
Man why everyone that working on these damn things always so far away I just want to hit at least 30 on average 😂😂😂
How many rpm's does your scooter go?
Never been able to gauge it but by sound I’d say 8-8.5 lower 8’s though
1500 rpm ?
1500 RPM engagement point yellow clutch springs 👍
What is the large nut size ??
I honestly can’t tell you off the top of my head it varies from Scooter to Scooter too all I did was I took that nut to my local AutoZone and found the socket piece I needed that fit up to it
@@davidhofinger4927 Roger!! That was my next step. Just walking the clutch in to a parts store. Thanks !!
Lmao The impact is definitely not needed . I just want somebody to take it off with keys inside of it.
You are gonna wring nuts and bolts off in an instant using that powerful impact on that little cheap Chinese scooter
No I’m not it’s just fine I’ve used it over a dozen times on the same scooter it’s the tool you need to get those nuts off to begin with anyways thanks for the knowledge though 👌
@@davidhofinger4927 your channel is not bad though honestly. You present pretty well and I think if you stay at it and don’t get discouraged you’ll end up doing well

Strong springs are a bad idea who commutes. Clumsy and it will beat everything up.
Im not trying to hate, but you literally made a video about how to install difficult clutch springs... yet didn't even show the technique to get them seated..
Is what it is brother this is more of the results and what to expect, it’s labeled “install” with before and after performance numbers not “How to install” that’s why my man
