Dude you’ve been so out of the loop, your a normal person though so I can’t blame you for not understanding the extraordinary but I’ll tell you now the way of a duelist is a way of life you trust your deck in everything you do and listen to it, but many have forgotten this and opted rather than to make and bond with their own deck to just copy the meta just cause it’s the easy short cut, but if yo I didn’t not make and fail and figure out where you went wrong and improve your deck to the point of unstoppable then you have learned nothing, no skills no bond no trust and when your meta fails you will be lost to adapt while someone who made there deck knows every nuance of their deck not just the ones that work and are used but every other possibility besides, it in its pure form is a duel between the intellect and experience of two duelists and their bond with their deck, such magic can not be forgotten only lost to the masses and if you don’t play meta the odds of your deck suffering from the banlist is extremely low
This felt like a good old school game of yugioh where turns were strategic by looking at the outcome and your card effects. Not cards that combo and do shit for 30 minutes like today's decks.
I like how neither of them thought to go with some of the truly broken full power combo decks like Spyrals, PePe or Goukis using stuff like Pot of Greed for consistency boosting; instead just going for the basic super strong cards like Snatch Steal, Confiscation, etc
The whole point is that they are only playing with banned cards. Cards that aren't banned are not allowed. That means none of those decks are playable.
There's an old Yu-Gi-Oh video game for the Wii (YGO 5D's Duel Transer) with a bonus postgame area containing almost exclusively duelists with illegal decks. I remember one had exactly that - a deck with nothing but banned cards (that said, it also actually had limited and semi-limited in there, and it had the banlist at the end of the Wii's wi-fi connection's life). That was the Synchro era, it was actually kind of easy to beat. Now, the illegal deck running Final Countdown + Stall + Flips + 3X Fiber Jar...
Could do one where you can only use cards with “the” in the name of the card. Like dark magician the dragon knight, gizmek orochi the serpentron Sky slasher, etc? Could be neat
What about dandylion for 2tokens and an earth (mainly thinking about redox monster reborn effect) or true-king lithosagym for destroying either the ruler or dandy to turbo more cards out?
I stopped playing yu-gi-oh around the time the Synchros were released, so a lot of these cards are unfamiliar. The forbidden card monsters that come to mind didn't even make it into the decks - the Jars (heard a mention that flip-effects are too slow), Envoy of the Beginning / End, Yata Garasu etc.
So there's this little card that I'm surprised no one thought about it's called FIBER JAR. It's banned for a reason and having the ability to reset the game is a huge thing.
Damn, haven't played Yugioh since 2007 but I still remember some of these rules, at least what they were during my time. Royal Oppression destroys the magic/trap/monster card with effect that triggers a special summon, and that card goes to the grave. The monster from the grave is never summoned, or even interacted with. Yugioh has become a fairly ridiculous game since I used to play however, so I have no idea what the current ruling would be on it. Guess more than the cards, what era of rulesets are you playing under?
Here's a challenge! It's called the no extradeck and/or No archetype challenge. You can also do a single attribute and/or single type challenge. You can also do a special summon only challenge.

I'm over here, I remember when all of those old magic and trap cards where legal. I've seen a lot of broken decks from release to when Qli's where the top deck.
Hardleg Joe is a great candidate for this format creation. He is a meme lord for decks and always thinks outside the box. Plus he is hilarious.
Duel (Rock paper scissor) start 16:48
So this is what we see instead of Throwback Thursday
Do a duel where the only cards you can use are cards that were released in 2019 TCG
This could be an interesting format. Do reprints count?
@@skeltaldelegate5408 I'd say no to the reprints.
But isn't this really easy sinc eyou could just play Orcust?
Thatd be lame, too easy to build something like salamangreats, thunder dragons, etc
Maybe only released on core sets from 2019, that way there's no salad with gazzelle and stallio or endymion breaking stuff up
@@Colbrax Thunder Dragons are all old, you couldn't put almost amy monster in the deck
14:43 I knew it Shapesnatch is banned
also "Im paying for your chicken"
Someone needs to play, lab, and solve this format. I'd love to know what's "meta" in this card pool.
“Never been done before” hah me and my friends ALWAYS USE BANNED CARDS
Lmao bro I play against my dad with 3 Monster Reborn’s
Next challenge: all cards on the Forbidden/Limited list are banned, and all other cards are limited.
Except Thousand-Eyes Idol, which can be played at 5
HoC: "I need solid monsters now, and I don't know if I'm going with the Dragon Rulers. Like, we're missing Tempest, and they're pretty good. Maxx "C" (8:38 left), Magical Scientist... Jeez.. I wonder what Cimo's cooking up right now..."
Cimo: "Lemme see if there's any other dragons... We have Magical Scientist, Makyura, Maxx "C" (8:41 left).. Maxx "C" has to go in this deck.
These guys are on the same wavelength that it's literally a 3 second difference.
October 2019 and people still remember yugioh. I don't know what to say, it's beautiful in a way.
What do you mean by this
@@loqstone the video was uploaded on October 2019 and yugioh is still going strong.
Tbh, I forgot about yugioh after the 3rd grade.
@@Shushkin Well yugioh is still played and is pretty popular with tournaments and all. It was never really forgotten but i know what you mean. :)
@@daenor7807 You should be a yugioh anime character
Would be interesting to see a Banned vs Limited vs Unlimited fight. Which is better? A few broken cards or a near unlimited diversity of sane ones?
I love the intro! My girl jumps every time I yell CIMOOOOOOOO!!!
Anime only decks. With anime rules, that seems like fun.
I attack the moon.
Everyone:Season1 memes even tho Season2 and beyond actually has more consistant rules
Next challenge: every card in the game s limmited
Make it 100 card deck too, so it's basically MTG Commander but without the Commander.
Hardleg Joe did that on his channel
exodia
This felt like a good old school game of yugioh where turns were strategic by looking at the outcome and your card effects. Not cards that combo and do shit for 30 minutes like today's decks.
Deckbuilding with only banned cards: Pot of Greed into Graceful Charity into Pot of Graceful Greecharity.
Cards must start and end with the same letter.
but different archetypes
And types
Is the Spell card "7" legal in this format?
@@diodiobrando790 No, only because it doesn't contain a letter.
@@Vonkunken ok
Next: We dueled without using cards! (only guns)
"If it ain't broke, dont fix it"
There's an old Yu-Gi-Oh video game for the Wii (YGO 5D's Duel Transer) with a bonus postgame area containing almost exclusively duelists with illegal decks.
Magical scientist with norden and shock. Seems neat
Could do one where you can only use cards with “the” in the name of the card. Like dark magician the dragon knight, gizmek orochi the serpentron Sky slasher, etc? Could be neat
Waking the dragon
Wow I'm early.
Edit: Hardleg Joe has done this on DBC.
But only with all banned cards at one not at three
Opponent: Dzeeff Theme: Custom card decks with the archetypes being yugitubers
The Prisoner's Dilemma at work. Both of you play a suboptimal 60 card deck because the risk of allowing you opponent the Grass advantage is too great.
My initial thought was Yatta Lock. Play all the draw cards and discard card. Toss in a few snatch steal and try to yatta lock them.
Frustrated neither one of u used level eater in a self mill high level dragons build to use for link or tribute fodder
Me too, they would have been able to extra link
What about dandylion for 2tokens and an earth (mainly thinking about redox monster reborn effect) or true-king lithosagym for destroying either the ruler or dandy to turbo more cards out?
Or mass driver fodder
Old Yugioh cards are my era
I stopped playing yu-gi-oh around the time the Synchros were released, so a lot of these cards are unfamiliar.
The forbidden card monsters that come to mind didn't even make it into the decks - the Jars (heard a mention that flip-effects are too slow), Envoy of the Beginning / End, Yata Garasu etc.
Envoy of the Beginning is at 3 =)
when the newer cards have 10 different keywords and 20 paragraphs to read for their effect and then you compare them to pot of greed
I love this, I think this is the best thing y'all done so far.
cutting back and forth between the two guys really shows how overly animated loud and obnoxious cimo is omg
Seeing all the cards I used to play with being banned makes me feel a bit better about quitting the game. LOB to Pharoah's Servant RIP.
It's Called "2002 Beatdown Format". It's kinda cool to play this.
I was waiting for one of you to pull out Jace, the Mind Scuptor.
Nowadays it would be Oko, Thief of Crowns.
So there's this little card that I'm surprised no one thought about it's called FIBER JAR. It's banned for a reason and having the ability to reset the game is a huge thing.
No monster reborn, no mirror force, the magic card that looks like light swords that stops your opponent for three turns
Me having never played a game of YuGiOh:
He better play 3 Pot of Greeds.
It draws you two cards when it's played.
"I had Grass turn 1"... Get Grass on turn 6 (his third turn)... Why you always lyin?
I haven't played this game in eleven years.. so I'm not sure why it's in my recommended.. but the nostalgia. That ban list now is insane though.
Maybe it was a sign to play again or something haha
Here's a challenge! It's called the no extradeck and/or No archetype challenge. You can also do a single attribute and/or single type challenge. You can also do a special summon only challenge.
What is the name of the deck building software/game you are using, Cimooo?
