A good tip is to get rid of the donated stuff immediately, don't put the bag down to take " later".
Also, take a small DAILY bag of stuff to donate to charity as part of your routine, that won't make you anxious ! 😀 UK 🇬🇧 ❤ 28.6.24

Such a good set of rules! I should apply that to my home!
Also I’m in love with your daughter’s bed spread and pillows. Very well done there.
Excited for the big deep declutter!! ❤

      Thank you!
Bedroom stuff is all from Target (not sponsored 😂)

Hahaha the toilet paper bag is so relatable 😅. Love these rules! I will be writing out my purpose today!
The room I want to declutter is my office. I have a vlog coming out very soon where I get a good start on it but I need to finish cleaning it and then I really want to decorate it and make it more relaxing and not a dumping ground!

I'm going through this now, it makes me feel overwhelmed and anxious 😟! I grew up unspoilt, had to be grateful for anything!
So to have nice things makes it hard to get rid of THINGS, everything has a mental memory! Hard! UK 🇬🇧

That's such a good idea for each room to have a purpose. Some need to be multipurpose rooms so, in those cases, it's super helpful to define zones for those different purposes. I have a couple of rooms like that. Our spare bedroom upstairs is set up for my daughter's bunny but there's also a section surrounding the closet where there's a bookshelf and a dresser to store her off-season and dressier clothing. There's another spare bedroom in the basement and my partner keeps all his clothes in one side of the room (because he showers and gets ready down there) and the other half is used for storage. The tricky thing with his ADHD is that he picks up a new hobby every year or two so there's also a table set up in that room for him to sew and alter his clothing. In the rec room/mancave, he has a painting easel plus a cart full of supplies in the corner of the seating area, as well as all his music-related stuff (DJ equipment, speakers, instruments, record shelf) and workout stuff (bench/weights/punching bag) in the other quarters of the room. Even though he has a huge garage in the back yard that isn't used to store a vehicle, he felt the need to build a workbench in the laundry room and turn that into a multipurpose room also. Hmmmmmmm

Wow! You definitely do have a lot of spaces with multi purposes. And I think you’re right, rooms can be divided into smaller “zones” too. But maybe it would be helpful for you guys to take some time to re-assess what’s working for you and then identify areas that may need some new purpose/rules established.
I love that you’re thinking about it!

@@MillennialMeg Yeah, this video really got me thinking because the multipurpose rooms obviously have a lot more in them than if they only had a single purpose. My adult daughter is moving back home tomorrow so we definitely will have to rethink these rooms and declutter to make space.
