Being a mother and a housewife for over 30 yrs. You could imagine how many of these items were not taken in my smaller flat after we sold the house we were living in for 25 yrs. Children were all grown ups and they don't want to have most of our household items so i donated or gave them to my friends. Now that i am living alone and minimised all my stuff, everything seems totally easy. Reminiscing all those yearly celebrations with 3 kids? from Halloween to Christmas, Easter,Birthdays, St.Patrick and all other school parties and activities. Popcorn makers, bread machine, french fries, ice cream makers, cotton candy machines,...
I got rid of all my plastic containers and then I bought glass containers. How I wish I did this sooner. My container cupboard looks so neat and nicer looking.
I agree with so much of this; however, not on getting rid of photographs. That would be like throwing away history. Many people who are not tech savvy like our older relatives would not know how to access digital versions nor would they want to learn how. Turning the pages of photo albums where the history of our families have been preserved for future generations is like walking down memory lane & being a part of it all. I am so grateful that my Mama took photos throughout her life & created a "family tree" if you will for her family to enjoy.
I only keep what I actually use now. I got rid of all plants and I had lots of them. Just the time it took to care for them was too much. I keep plastic because I freeze a lot of food I make in bulk like pasta sauce and even taco meat etc. I clean my purse once a month to reduce stuff. It’s on my chore list to do. I just realized I have a David’s tea gift card to use and I need tea!
Oh no, NOT the photos! Digitized stuff is not always reliable and that's our history! Imagine an EMP hitting, who's going to be able to pull out history? The folks who've kept photo albums!
I agree! I can't imagine throwing out photographs! You are right, who would know to try to find them on digital storage. I love looking at old photo albums that my Mama put together over the years.
I recently got rid of all Of my old photos. I used to have boxes and boxes of photos! I don’t have them now and I don’t miss them. No, I did not digitise them.
I recently attended my old neighbor’s celebration of life. Her son had placed on the table tons of old photos of hers and of their family to share with friends and family. Some of those were displayed digitally. But the physical photographs are what people touched and talked about. Our senses can evoke memories and help form new ones. By reducing the sensory down to just sight reduces the enjoyment of revisiting memory lane. I guess that’s why I keep certain books because of how they look and feel, and how they smell. The thing is to keep a manageable amount of items to highlight their importance. If we kept everything that associated with all of our memories then nothing will be special anymore. Beside no way we can remember everything 😂
It's amazing how many books l found in the street l would read it then put it on top of the blue container then someone else would pick it up it's a good way to save
I scan all of my appliance manuals immediately after I purchase them. They are not always available on-line. I learned this the hard way a couple of times.

I use extra or unwanted tote bags to carry my things to donation centers, easy to transfer from my house to my car, my car to the center. Bye-bye tote!
I don't agree about old family photos! We need to keep REAL things to hand down the family tree. Digital is not good or healthy! It's not healthy to look at a screen all day. Photo albums are great to get out and show the family not searching for stuff on a screen for god's sake! That is sacrilage!
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the photo one seems to be the controversial for some/most and hardest to let go. We respect your preference on any of these items and appreciate in voicing out. Have a good day.

I'm only guilty of picture clutter, but I wouldn't throw them away for all the tea in China!

Not the old photo. Sorry 🎉
No worries. Not everything can be the same for everyone.
I'm currently digitizing all of my photos. So I have my memories, I can share them with family and friends and everything is fine.
@@sylkeschwedtke7827how are you doing this? I’m afraid the resolution from electronics won’t be the same in a few years 😢 and or get damaged.
Traditional phone camera may not have a good resolution. Using scanner with high dpi might be the way to go.

Thank you 🙏 feeling inspired
You're welcome. Glad you liked it! ❤️

That's awesome!
I just throw coffee pods in the bin!
It’s NOT always Tupperware. It’s all the other plastic containers. Mine are all stored with lids on in a cupboard over the stove.
Thank you for the correction. Appreciate it. Happy organizing!
Put baking soda followed by vinegar every week in sinks then hot water 😊😊😊
Water baking soda & a bit of vinegar in a spray bottle revive droopy plants. 🌱
Great tip!
ps. Place rice grains in the mix

Sure. We do what works best for each of us. Some are a matter of personal preference and cannot be generalized. ❤️
I have my doubts about "investing in reusable party decorations" (do such things even exist?) somehow being a way to decrease clutter.
I'm guilty with #11. Those free tote bags are hard to let go. 😂
Time to choose your favorite and donate the ones you don't need and may never use.
Same here!
