I have just run this and used the wooden dowel glued in to seal the gap along the roof join - it worked perfectly
Nice job on the video bud!!!
What's the purpose of the holes near the top of the roof panels? So you can hang the finished product?
Nice bird house but what about the big gap on the roof??
Hi Chris - Thanks! I ran a bead of clear silicon caulking along the roof line of the birdhouses I've made. -Nathan
That said, none of the residents have complained, and all of the bird inspectors signed off before we issued mortgages.. -Erik
bird houses should not have a "perch" at the entry hole. It allows predators easy access to the inside of the house. The birds dont require it to get in and out. Otherwise nice little birdhouse.
I don't think the tabs are going to do much on the 4'x8' layout. Probably need to re-nest.
Hi Cody, Thanks for your comment. Yes, tabs are a great topic in their own right. For this project we have shared the single bird house nesting plan - you can make a 4x8 layout to your needs and specify wider spacing and larger tabs if needed. If you do something with this, feel free to share, might be a fun challenge to see what the true "optimal" layout would look like.

Bird houses are not supposed to be painted or stained inside.
