When Brad was young, he looked really young - like he needed a note from mom to play the gig. But man, he could play. Dang. He builds his solo so nicely. Genius knows no age.
So...Christine McJaco he ain't but that opening song is a little limited so jazz musicians overplay. Kenny Garrett could pull a song off like that. Interesting though to hear jazz legends stretch out in other areas....thanks
Mr. McBride doing his magic with a Squire bass .. no fancy axe ...all is in the fingers!
5:36 Christian McBride's beast mode activated by that 16th note line from Joshua
Holy sh** yes! Mad beauty!
So fucking good! All four musicians are playing insanely well, but Brad’s solo is from another fucking planet.
It's a group music my g

mehldau solo is off the scale... one of the best quartets in jazz history

Legend.....
lost for words
That bass tho....Mcbride is killin' it!!!
One of the greatest rhythm sections ever
The best band around all of them have solo project that Grammy nominated. Reminds me of Tony Williams band with Wallace Rooney and Mulgrew Millier.
I've never heard Mehldau play anything like this. Incredibly funky.
@@musopaul5407 Oh absolutely. Fun fact, Brad is a huge fan of Michael Brecker so he was probably super stoked to be on that album playing with him.
Lo de estos tíos es de otro planeta
omfg. so much syncopation and so much groove.
Christian Mcbride, amongst the greats on double bass for sure
One of my favorite songs of all time.
Yeeeeahhhh!!!!! Love this GIG and musicians..
The "bass sound"... Amazing!!
Thiago Braga Christian McBride
Christian McBride and his Squire bass ... just magnificent!
waaah best bass sound I've heard in ages- and a squire! More punch even than Justin Raines with his MTD
One of my all time fav groups!!!

My best quartet in modern jazz. I love all of them. Yeah play on guys...it's 12 hours before you head home.
8:19-8:41 That groove! Again at 9:14
The perfect quartet.
"Excelente y perfecto". 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love this tune. I've been looking for a video where he plays 'How come you don't call me anymore'.
6:25 Brad's solo starts

Reuniting this summer, can’t wait for London in July!!
This comment aged poorly 😔
Is McBride channeling some John Coltrane A Love Supreme @11:38? I think so! Joshua chimed in on it! Excellent! Thank you for uploading this!! peace!
Not really but the level of communication is comparable
