- This video shows everything from the birth of the Athos quad idea all the way through prototype testing. This video is geared towars the tech centric viewer that likes to see a great idea come to live and a little taste of each phase of the process. Watch closely and you will see the initial hand drawn sketh of the Athos quad concept, initial CAD modeling and simulation, actual prototype fabrication steps, and video of the first test rides.

I've been working on a similar ATV bike ideal for the last three years in my spare time. And I knew there had to be somebody out there thinking like me that would beat me to the punch. Oh well,that's life I'll keep on working on mind though. And I must say well done it's really a nice design. I have three different virgins of mind BMX, Montain & Racer. This is whats going to put America back on top real inventors of things that will soon be needed. And it's better than walking great work man.

I have too especially growing up riding motocross and bmx. I did moto on quads so I've always wanted a bmx quad.

The test pilot is a pretty good rider- I've ridden that skatepark plenty on my all-mountain bike' and haven't taken a couple of those lines, or gotten that much air! He makes it look too easy.

The use of raw billet-made parts always tells people that you weren't F-ing around. I love that chit. The use of red paint on some parts of the frame was a smart move too. Impressive overall. Well-designed. Well-constructed. Well-ridden. And I gotta say... well... I really liked the Nike's that dude had on too

I think I saw this at SAE BAJA Kansas (Pittsburgh State) I think. Someone had added an ebike motor to it (middrive perhaps) and were tooling around the pit area. Every bit as cool in real life as in this video. I really love the idea of a silent, lightweight (compared to an ATV) pedal/electric offroad vehicle. With my middrive bike I've been able to see all sorts of wildlife b/c they don't hear me coming. Also, people don't mind an electric bike as much as an ATV or ICE powered dirt bike b/c of its silence.

Can add 2 disc at rear, just like the front disc, and also can remove middle disc into motorized rear middle wheel?

Have you ever thought about mounting some kind of skid plate across the middle section of the frame for possibly rail slides/and for protection to the frame and the rider so for instance you wouldn't get hung up in some branches laying on the ground or something like that?

I want one!! That is most cool. I have been wanting to build an electric four wheel bike for a long time and this would be so easy to put a little motor on.
How do you get the bike wheels to attach to the hub in the rear. What kind of adapters?

What kind of hubs are in the rear wheels? How does the axle engage the wheels? Can I go from 20" to 26" wheels without any major modifications to the frame/suspension/steering? How would a change in wheel size affect performance and handling characteristics? These are just some of the things I have to figure out, not to mention 'where do I get the chromolly? Is there a machine shop where can I do my cutting, bending, shaping and welding or will I have to give them the dimensions and hope they shape and weld everything properly?' My design shares some characteristics with this 4 wheel MX but the rest of it is very different (and probably several lbs. heavier too). Excellent independent suspension-pedal quad by the way.
Have you thought about building one of these with the Wesll leaning/tilting suspension?

How much does this cost?
Anyone know what CAD software is being used here? Or the latest equivalent software available in 2020? I'm looking to design a suspension system and need to be able to model the motion pathways of linkages around joints.... Think I've reached the limitations of SketchUp?

Congrats that shit is amazing. I just recently thought of this and had never seen it's I wanna make mine an electric one tho with all kinds of racks n bags around it and a back rack platform in order to make it more of a bad ass bug out vehicle, about 40mph and 130miles of range is what I'm thinking. There's definitely enough space for app that battery!

Really like the concept, only think that it must be a bit heavy to ride because of the weight and the extra resistance from the wheels. With a small electric motor like they put on those old-people-bikes might make this thing even better xD

They should mount the control for the RWD to the right side and the control for the FWD to the left so you could also drift *.*

I have been wanting something like this for a while, I also had a idea for one but didn't have the tools I needed to build it. So I visited the Athos page on contes engineering and found the Quadricycle, but are they for sale yet and if so where at because I would like to purchase one and if they are not for sale yet when will they be.
Wow i would love to make one or have one! Looks like its 4 wheel drive to. love to go through trails and hills. but also have a support on the seat so you can cruise to.

Now that is awesome... it looks pretty heavy though. I wounder if the frame tubing is steel or aluminum. I have a feeling this would also be pretty awesome with a small electric assist motor.

If you put a motor on it, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of making it? If you’re gonna put motor on it you may as well just buy a quad
