The property has lots of iron from buildings and other period items. How would you set up the Deus II for maximizing the possibility for finding gold and silver coins in the same field? Low conductor and a high conductor setting.
Hi James I guess a mid range frequency will be the best choice. Although you need to consider a deep silver coin on edge may register at a much lower number than in air.
Great Video. So my question is this. I am coming from an Equinox 800 and it having a 6 inch coil on it. The separation in an iron infested site was outstanding. When I got my Xp Deus 2, I got it with an 11 inch coli because the Equinox 800 came with an 11 inch coil and I wanted to have it for deeper targets. Is there a why to setup the XP Deus 2 so you simulate the small coil, so that in a 1800's homestead you can get that separation, to cut through the iron. I am new to the XP Deus 2 line. I bought it because the tones and sounds told the story of what was in the ground. Before the Equinox 800, I had a Whites V3I and it was an audio machine as well. I am just try to find a good niche when I am in those age old iron sites.
Thanks Gary! No questions for now. I just want to say thank you and I've been learning a ton on my Deus2. I personally really like the park program and relic with IAR set to 5. I would really like to know what the numbers in relic program are telling me. So yes I guess I do have a bit of a question😁😁
Out with it for the first time today. First; even with the handbook I could not find my way to the good old XY screen. The headphones are almost useless for me because I have big head (Don't, it's all been said! seven and quarter hat size) and the phones that should be worn in front of the ears (and not on) can't get anywhere near my ears so I turned the volume up and wore them round my neck but it's not really working and the new/better phones are not availably until at least June! Next, I took a small bronze Saxon pin with me that the old Deus 1 only just got but I couldn't get a peep out of the Deus 2 on it in any programme, could do with some advice there. Finally; programme 14! This is a weird one and I was hoping it would come up on this vid. After prog 13 I get another prog 1 called 7.FAST 40. It seems to be a good programme on one of my particular fields, very sensitive, I only went between that and Gen prog today. So; how to get the XY, how to get a signal off the bronze pin and what on earth is that prog 14? Thanx as always Gary.
Excellent video as always Gary I'm looking forward to getting the deus 2 soon I've got a question I'm still using my deus 1 is there anything I can do to eliminate the interference from electric Fences thanks matt
I love hunting in full tones with 0 discrimination. My question is if while using different programs in full tone and 0 on discrimination make the factory programs perform identical to one another, does it change the machines performance
I think maybe i would like the manual GB option on every preset. Don't know why they left that (or am I wrong ?) With old Deus I used to always set that manually as the pumping one seemed off and it was quite ok. Usually i had it around 83 and as soon as it starts to sound at every swing, i increased it. Now I kinda had the same thing, with mono it was totally off, but there you can put a manual in. On fast, it also sounded at every swing but that went away when i set it on Tracking. Don't really know what else to do with that. I'm just on common soil in Belgium. Had no problem on wet beach even on sens 99.
Hi Jetski I asked this question to XP while Beta testing the D2 They said a manual GB on a multi frequency machine is not very accurate.....Because what frequency do you ground balance to? However the ground stability option is very interesting feature. Take a look at your manual, but I will make a video soon.
Hi Gary, I truly believe that the videos you do make the XP metal detector's the best purchase decision. When I hunt with my friend who uses a NOX in multi freq, he blows our ears off. Is there another way to handle this situation other than me switching to DEUS MONO or accidently stepping on his coil? I like the FMF and want to keep using it.
@@The-skillschool I know Gary all your video's are very well done and extremely informative especially if you very used a Deus before XP DEUS 2. I love the machine just a little learning curve with your help we with get it down. Stay well Mate. Al

Hi Gary As a Deus one user and now a Deus 2 owner I find the tones a lot more clippy and not as clean when in comparison..I wish xp would address that in the next update.... unless it's just me 👍
I really struggle with Deus 1 style tones on the D2. The Deus 1 had lovely clean tones. I'm hoping they do something to improve the the D1 tones on the Deus 2. I've tried various land types, I haven't deceased the silencer from the standard settings. Square tones and pitch are the best on the D2 in my opinion.

Good evening Gary, I’m after some advice if you’re ok with that please. I’ve Seen some of your helpful videos about xp deus on TH-cam they’re very useful thanks . I’m a relative beginner at detecting, started October last year. I’ve now got a deus 2 and a farmer friend has asked me to search for his aunts engagement ring in one of his fields. Wondered if I should use any program or setting to target just the gold ring? Also I’m on 0.6 do you recommend any specific updates or leave it? You had a mini handy little trowel, where did you get this as I don’t really want the big dagger ones. Hope you don’t mind me sending message. Many thanks Andy
Thanks for the informative video as always Gary. Quick question...if searching for coins in a mid 1800's foundation/home site that is full of old iron, do you have a specific program or programs you would prefer to use as a base.
Hi Gary, question about notch and discrimination. Does using these features affect depth? I hear with multifrequency machines that they do not. Thank you, and thank you for all of your helpful videos! (DeepDigs from the TreasureNet forums)
Thanks for a great question. Personally I don't think notch and discrimination loose depth......However I have found any form of disc can contaminate a weak signal giving you the impression deep non ferrous targets may be iron.
How can I stop my DEUS 2 from interfering with someone using a DEUS 1? Do I have the same capability as the NOX to change freq bands to reduce interference/emi?
Hello Gary, lots of talks now about the D2 update V 0.6 with big tid. People say that this update decreased the depth and they would like to downgrade, but have no chance to do that. Is that true, coz I'm still on V0.6 first version and probably will stay until V0.7

I am sure that Deus2 is powerful on a dirty and mineral soil but i I expected a little more. I dont know am i wrong somewhere
Why do I have to change out the gray plug with the red plug when going in the water deeper than 1M. Why can't I just leave the red plug in all the time instead of changing it back and forth? HH Matt
hi Gary, there are things I don't understand about the deus 2, I have a wood with wet clay soil and I need to have the deus 2 set up correctly to detect tiny objects and very small deep silver coins sometimes placed vertically in the ground ... I have tried with the general program, great! stable! deep! but on some small targets of my interest it loses effectiveness it does not hit them .... so I fell back on the sensitive program n.2 it hits all the tiny deep targets but I notice some strange instabilities, it is not a forest infested with coke so I removed the notch from 23 to 25 but it keeps giving me false signals in that range, so I reactivated the notch from 23 to 25 but it gives me very often id around 30-31 and digging I find nothing .... what am I wrong? i can't understand this behavior, i don't want to be forced to use general program 1 in that context because i need sensitivity about small thin coins and tiny objects ... can you help me?I forgot: I always do the ground balance, ground stabilizator set on 2,and on the scale of mineralization there are two notches
@@The-skillschool I was afraid you would ask. Let me see if I can explain without drawings. On a silent (no threshold) setting a signal needs to "break through" the setting to create a signal. Very faint signals may not be able to do that. With a threshold setting giving a very faint constant sound, any signal may bump up the threshold even very slightly indicating a small or deep target. Also discriminated items will cause the threshold to decrease or go silent. I think the question was whether the threshold level is truly adjustable to be a very slight background or whether it is the same for everyone. I haven't tried it on my Deus II yet since I haven't been anywhere where I would use the relic mode.

Did you figure out a solution, my deus 2 just arrived, I notice steel coins are silent on sensitive FT, if you reduce the silencer to 1 or 0 it will ring out, but so does a few other pieces of iron I tested, I tried just about every combination of silencer, disc and BC and can't get the coins to ring but not the bigger iron On the deus 1 HF coil steel coins were easy, they sounded like bottlecaps, so if I was somewhere j knew there wasn't very many bottle caps, like an elementary school, I dug all the bottle cap tones cause 90% of the time they were a coin
Hi Gary, thanks for this series. This is not something everyone might want to know about, but since the D2 can really replace all the other detectors in your pack, what would you say was the best program for a seeded competition hunt where speed and recovery is of the utmost importance? I would think the FAST program, but since it doesn’t have much discrimination, would there be a better customized less filtered program for that application? TIA
Well, just put about 30 hr on my Deus 2. The headphones are not comfortable ESPECIALLY if you wear glasses! The puck in my opinion is about useless unless you have a problem with the main remote, and for the price! Please add a decent headphone case, the supplied case is junk!. Mine came with no charge cord, it was received 2 days before a week long outing leaving very little time to familiarize myself with a new machine. The charge connection wasn't well thought out, why not use a magnet setup like the Nox rather than screwing it in & out after every use? Overall preformance seemed good, did find one penny in a spot 2 Nox guys missed. Time will tell. Not a newbie detectorest, have about 25 years in.

Thanks Gary! No questions for now. I just want to say thank you and I've been learning a ton on my Deus2. I personally really like the park program and relic with IAR set to 5. I would really like to know what the numbers in relic program are telling me. So yes I guess I do have a bit of a question😁😁
Thanks Greg 👍🤝
Hi Matt
Sadly no, the pulse from electric fences is impossible to remove.
I love hunting in full tones with 0 discrimination. My question is if while using different programs in full tone and 0 on discrimination make the factory programs perform identical to one another, does it change the machines performance
Good question 👍
Theoretically you should notice a difference because different programs use different frequency bands, silencers and reactivity.
Hi Jetski
I asked this question to XP while Beta testing the D2
They said a manual GB on a multi frequency machine is not very accurate.....Because what frequency do you ground balance to?
However the ground stability option is very interesting feature.
Take a look at your manual, but I will make a video soon.
Hi Gary, I truly believe that the videos you do make the XP metal detector's the best purchase decision. When I hunt with my friend who uses a NOX in multi freq, he blows our ears off. Is there another way to handle this situation other than me switching to DEUS MONO or accidently stepping on his coil? I like the FMF and want to keep using it.
Hi Brian, thanks for your comments.
Just ask your friend to move his frequency band, it should only take a couple of seconds.
Excellent Gary always but a lot of screen glare hard to read what you were showing but great info. Thank you mate.
Al, NJ, USA
Thanks Al eliminating screen glare outside is a tough call.
@@The-skillschool I know Gary all your video's are very well done and extremely informative especially if you very used a Deus before XP DEUS 2. I love the machine just a little learning curve with your help we with get it down. Stay well Mate. Al
What would you say is the best program for fresh water lakes and streams?
Try the General program.
Hi Gary. I have sold all my detectors and only the Deus II and ORX remain. No need for anything else !!!
Thanks DC, I think you are right it can be counterproductive having to many machines......Thats my problem !
I to have only the deus 2 and the orx left!
@@jasondunn6223 All we need 😁
Will you be making any updated Deus 1 program videos?
I'm sure I will soon
@@The-skillschool great, thank you! 😁
Hi Gary I'm running a xp deus ll lite master. I'm running in general but can't stop the popping and spitting.. I want it to run as silent as can be... any advice please 🙏
Make sure you have version 1.1 or 2.0 installed
Hi Gary
As a Deus one user and now a Deus 2 owner I find the tones a lot more clippy and not as clean when in comparison..I wish xp would address that in the next update.... unless it's just me 👍
Thanks Gavin
Sometimes the higher silencer can make the deep ones a little clippy.
Thanks for your thoughts Owen
Great info! What would a good program be for a field where my mate found a nice, big silver coin and me trying to see if there are any more?
If you are just hunting for big Silver, the Park program or Full tone Audio in the Park program is worth a try.
@@The-skillschool Thanks a lot, Gary!
Hello Gary, if I'm at a soccer field at a park and there's not as much trash at all on the soccer field itself would I still be in park mode or would I use general mode? Thanks
Give it a try Brian
Thank you!
It;s not a problem....Because you are using -6.4 you will always hear feedback from the ground.
Turn the discrimination up to 0 and try again
Hi Andy
All factory programs will find a shallow Gold ring.
The hand trowels are normally hand made.
Many thanks Gary
@@The-skillschool many thanks Gary I will try to make one . Cheers
Thanks for the informative video as always Gary. Quick question...if searching for coins in a mid 1800's foundation/home site that is full of old iron, do you have a specific program or programs you would prefer to use as a base.
Sensitive FT or the Park program with Full Tone audio would be a good starting point Jerry.
@@The-skillschool Excellent, again thanks for taking the time to assist.
Yes manual or automatic noise cancel
Thanks for another good video,Gary!
Thanks BP
Hello Gary, lots of talks now about the D2 update V 0.6 with big tid. People say that this update decreased the depth and they would like to downgrade, but have no chance to do that. Is that true, coz I'm still on V0.6 first version and probably will stay until V0.7
I'm not convinced but there will be another update soon.
Gary , today i test Macro Racer 2 with Nel Tornado coil and Deus 2 (my old and my new machine) and i got to say- macro racer 2 is little deeper than deus2 (on quiet soil).. and i tink only relic program can can strive for more but... it is what it is. I am sure that Deus2 is powerful on a dirty and mineral soil but i I expected a little more. I dont know am i wrong somewhere
Thanks for your thoughts.
Great video Gary. Thanks Terry.
Thanks Terry
Hi Gary, thank you for the good info, as always :) Here’s a question: When customising a factory program, can you add/delete single frequencies in it?
No you can't Luis
@@The-skillschool Then I know, thanks Gary :)
Здравствуйте. Будет ли возможность самостоятельного выбора частот в мультичастотных программах?
No
Why do I have to change out the gray plug with the red plug when going in the water deeper than 1M. Why can't I just leave the red plug in all the time instead of changing it back and forth? HH Matt
On hot days the pressure may build up in your RC if you leave the red plug in.
More info is in the manual.
hi Gary, there are things I don't understand about the deus 2, I have a wood with wet clay soil and I need to have the deus 2 set up correctly to detect tiny objects and very small deep silver coins sometimes placed vertically in the ground ...
Please try version 0.7 and add some silencer.
I had someone ask me whether the threshold is a true threshold or just a reference point? I wasn't sure of the answer.
Hi Stuart what is a "true threshold"?
Hello Sir I notice when looking at different sites to purchase this machine it’s says it’s good for 5 years is that the warranty or how long this remote last. Also would beach mode be the same for fresh water 💦 pond. Thank You
Can you do some videos using the ws6 master?
Yes Ken it's all happening as we speak.
Deus 2 The Beast 💪💪💪 Thanks for another good video,Gary!
Thanks Jarkov
Can the Deus I charging clips and cables be used with the Deus II.
Yes absolutely
Hi Gary what would you recommend for ploughed fields
Hi Gary.
Do you have a opinion about nokta simplex please?
Great value for money
Looking forward to that beach programs video 😁 Thanks for your great videos!
Great video.. Nice amount of programmes, definitely enough to pkay around with 😀
Thanks for the information about low frequencies using more battery power... I wouldn't of even thought about frequencies possibly using more or less power .
Thanks again.
Thanks Daniel
How do you turn it on without headphones.
Select Icons on the start screen
@@The-skillschool is there a video to show this.
Great video as always Gary have a question actually a suggestion love the DeusII but thinking they should make an elliptical coil for it I know the nine has good separation but it's the shape of the coil for getting in between the cornrow stalks and tight places in the woods just love that shape of a coil it it has its place so if you would please suggest it to them👍🦀
Thanks for your thoughts GC 👍
I noti Ed after update there are two extra programs what are they designed for thkd
They are free programs and can be deleted
Hi Gary, is the Deus2 mono program a good platform to make it a Hot mono program?
Yes very good you also have the choice of a range of single frequencies. 4-40 Khz
@@The-skillschool thanks🤓☝ up to 40khz! Nice!!😎
Used to be a detector was a tool. This machine is an entire tool box. I am currently searching for a good deal on one.
I like your thought Roy 🤝👍
Hi Gary, what’s the harness you’re using?
Helikon tactical
Thanks very much. I’ve searched their site but can’t find the one like you wear which looks perfect. Love your videos and really helpful in learning about our Deus 2’s 👍

Great video Gary got the deus 2 at last 👌
Nice one Brian 👍
hey Gary i live in Canada and i bought a D2 and on factory programs it really has a hard time with our coins .our coins ring up as 0 so i have to set my Discrim below 0 so now i pick up all iron .Is there any programs comeing out for us Canadians our coins are made of Nickel plated steel .well 2000 and up .
Hi Ralph, sadly if they read in the iron range there is nothing I can think of. It may be worth assigning a separate tone for 0-1 I guess.
Use pitch, seems to me pitch high tones round things!? Found many cannister shot 07 highest pitch ear blow out!
Did you figure out a solution, my deus 2 just arrived, I notice steel coins are silent on sensitive FT, if you reduce the silencer to 1 or 0 it will ring out, but so does a few other pieces of iron I tested, I tried just about every combination of silencer, disc and BC and can't get the coins to ring but not the bigger iron
On the deus 1 HF coil steel coins were easy, they sounded like bottlecaps, so if I was somewhere j knew there wasn't very many bottle caps, like an elementary school, I dug all the bottle cap tones cause 90% of the time they were a coin
excellent video as always
Cheers Mike 👍it's always good to hear from you.
TIA
Hi Gary
I would agree Fast will be a good option, you could always swap out the pitch mode for 2 or 3 tones.
Hello Garry:)

Well explained 👍
Thanks
It was amazing on the beach this winter but I am not that impressed in mineralize soil it is just pretty average for depth
Thanks for your thoughts
Thanks M8.
No worries 👍
Thanks for your thoughts
Nice!!!
