I love the remake and it's entirely, but the route here made more sense. Claire and Leon fighting together instead of somehow remaining apart the entire time despite being in the same locations 99% of the time.

Darkside Chronicles is peak RE storytelling in terms of tone, pacing, music and voice acting.
Huge agree. It even made code Veronica’s story not half bad and makes Leon’s romance with Ada a lot more believable than even the remake does. Operation Javier is also underrated

Just watched Vendetta myself. Was disappointed to see that was what happened to him.
He drank because his teammates died in Vendetta. He never really had hard grudge working for them, even in 4, he was even friends with the President in 6.

To be fair, Leon always used alcohol as a depressant sadly. Before he even got to Raccoon City, his girlfriend broke up with him the night before and he woke up late. Now that his life is changing so drastically so quickly, he drinks consistently, mentioning it in RE4 briefly when he offered Mike a drink and of course we see him drinking from the flask in Damnation. I'd probably do the same if I was him..Man can't catch a break☹

Anson mah Actually, it's Paul Mercier. Shame Capcom dumped him for Matthew, who does a great job also, but his voice doesn't ooze style and charisma but at the same type tranquility as much as Paul's.
Ya I loved Paul's work in RE4, but I think Matthew did a decent job in RE6. Now the voice actress that replaced Claire in Revelations 2...
Parker Peters It's not even about the voice anymore. Capcom completely changed Leon in RE6, his personality was totally different from RE4 (too serious, few one liners, etc.) I don't even consider him being the same person.

Well it kinda would have made sense for Terra save to be at the reveal party that us gov was involved since this is dealing with events after a breakout event especially the one that established them up ,

Fun Fact: Claire has only ever been voiced by one person. In all the games and movies (capcom) with Claire, the same woman voiced her. She's got talent, because she's capable of making her sound a lot more mature in Revelations 2, and still have her sound young and innocent in Darkside Chronicles. Unfortunately I forget her name...

After playing the Re 2 remake I still think that the ending of the darkside chronicles really holds up until today. It was better than the re 2 remake’s ending.
I was a bit pissed when they used motion capture for ada and the rest instead of fixed models like re6. Just look at the perfect cheekbones of leon and gorgeous looking ada in re6. I get the fact that a lot if the cutscenes have facial expressions required in re2 but if the re2 remake ada was that beautiful...

Edit: Are you talking about the default ending of the remake? That's not the true ending of the remake. To get the true ending of the remake you have to fulfill certain conditions which will then unlock the secret true ending of the remake. Spoiler alert: The secret ending in the remake is basically the same as the ending here

@@anclss2384 yes Ada thought she was too injured to even walk at that point when she lost consciousness. Leon had to leave her cause it was impossible to get out of the police station while carry her. But ada was able to recover even though extremely injured as showed in Umbrella chronicles and even went back to help him.
Paul Mercer did an amazing job as RE2 Leon. He's the best VA for him
If we're talking about the character prior to the remakes, then hell yeah - Mercier over great-value Troy Baker any day of the week. But I feel that remake-era Leon is a far different character, and I really think the RE4 remake is going to flesh that out - the trailer indicates he's possibly suffered PTSD and is probably far more vulnerable than the OG Leon. I'm not sure if Mercier's portrayal would be able to fit in.

I really disliked how Sherry didn’t even have any feelings towards the death of her parents just minutes after they escaped in the Remake.

A way more realistic ending compared to RE2 remakes true ending. I absolutely love the cutscenes of these RE Chronicle games, they are just amazing. Capcom could have maybe implemented some of these in the main line entry games.

This is what Leon and Claire would look like if RE2 1998 was faithfully remastered in HD. Notice how Leon's face is consistent with his RE4 appearance. Claire is also consistent with her Code Veronica and Degeneration (movie) looks. Of course, the RE2 Remake had to change their faces quite drastically (to keep the game fresh, idk).
Not to mention they changed Leon and Ada's relationship, oh and they also made an enormous contradiction with re6 in Leon and Sherry's relationship
Capcom screwed up the b scenario big time in the remake.

Finally someone who sees it like it is. After creating this beautiful engine, Idk why the f*** Capcom messed with the Resident Evil characters. All of them were butchered in my opinion, but Ada, and especially Chris and Jill got the worst of it. It's a damn shame because I think all of the Devil May Cry characters were beautifully restored in V. They look ultra realistic, but it's the same old Dante and Vergil we've always known. At least we'll always have these games.
@@PrinceRevan Leon had the least changes to his face compared to Claire, Chris (RE7), and Jill (RE3R). Except for the butt chin which really clashes with Leon's appearances in other media. And I was surprised to find out that RE2R's mocap actor for Leon didn't have a butt chin; Capcom added that on their own.

What's cool about the ending is that it's a remake of the written Resident Evil 3 (yes, 3) epilogue for Leon. Plus, it ties in so well with Resident Evil 6.

I always wondered what actually changed Adda after meeting Leon? Leon protected her and showed genuine concern for her. I don't think Adda ever experienced this, she's a mercenary and a spy and they don't even treat you as a human (you're completely expendable). She kept stalking and helping Leon for that reason. Also, Leon is a tall, smart and strong guy. Every young women's dream.😄

Watching this makes me extremely sad for the RE2make we could've gotten; faithful character designs, faces, attributes, and probably most importantly, voices. Hopefully mods can fix some of it, with the Classic Costumes, OST, and SFX already being a thing. Alyson Court even said she'd be willing to revoice all the dialogue as long as she was compensated.
RE2make was decent though, plus are these graphics really that good? The graphics and design is ahead of its time but I don't find anything outstanding so far

The new cgi movie Resident Evil Vendetta is probably the closest you're gonna get to that. On another note, if you like reading, I'd highly recommend S.D. Perry's old Resident Evil novels. Most of them are novelizations of the old games (with twists), and some of them are original stories with our favorite characters. Great Reads, but they're not canon unfortunately. You kinda gotta read them as their own timeline (for continuity purposes).

I'll be happy to play but I'm not exactly excited for it neither since I didn't play it during my childhood. I actually just played and beat the game 2 years ago for the first time. Resident Evil 2 was a good experience, but my favorite have always been Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. So, if Resident Evil 2 remake sells good, then I hope they'll remake 3 as well.

No, they'll definitely look much better than this game. Remember, this game was originally released on the Wii and was remastered in high definition for the PS3. If this game had been made for the PS3, the graphics would have looked a lot better in this game. As for the remake of Resident Evil 2, the graphics should at least be on par with Resident Evil 6 or better.

I'm not "sour" about the new looks, I am about the voice actresses though. Ada's and Claire's VAs made RE2. Just listen to the Ada voice in this, it doesn't compare to the original and I'm almost sure the voice in the remake won't either.

I like Re6 to be honest, haven't played Revelations or Revelations 2 yet. Only thing holding me back is character models, voice acting and new boring bland characters (Parker, Jessica, etc.). They keep bringing in new boring characters when there is so many classic characters to work with. We need a game when all the fan favourite characters come together like Leon, Chris, Claire, Barry, Wesker (revive him!), Jill, Ada, Rebecca and Hunk.

LOL, well he was shot multiple times. The only way to "sort of" survive was to inject himself with the G-Virus. Like Annette Birkin said, it was flawed and took over :).
Notice that when Annette holds up her ring William hesitates. He only attacks when she aims the gun at him. That indicates that while he was not himself anymore, on some level he still had a trace of humanity.
At that point William has no control over his own body anymore. Gotta feel sorry for the poor bastard
