Yeah think again it not balance on Final Fantasy 13 because of BS combat so The Completionist and Fiery Joker never say FF 13 is a balance game. It more to complicated on story. Look at ClementJ64 on Final Fantasy 13 see for yourself.
Pokemon Colosseum and XD. Those two are criminally underrated. Edit: For those saying conquest, I agree. I just wasn't a huge fan of it. I get why people like it though and also hope it gets a port/remake/sequel/something for those who did enjoy it.
Speaking of Battle Network, I was playing Double Team DS recently. I've been trying to complete the Standard Chip collection to get through the Post Game, and I had to escape fights against Omega Navis excessively.

Yes! Megaman StarForce! This series was actually my introduction to Megaman. Granted, I first saw the anime on Toonami (great opening, btw), but it got me interested in the games. And honestly, I was surprised to find out that this game’s style was an outlier in the franchise. Weird, I know, but I’m so happy it’s getting attention!
Agreed. That was a awesome game. Heck Nintendo was planning on doing a spiritual successor to Pokémon Conquest via a crossover title between Pokémon and Fire Emblem however the concept of Pokémon X Fire Emblem was scrapped in favor of the crossover concept that was Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem which eventually got released as Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. I still hope Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company revisit the idea of a Pokémon X Fire Emblem title, and work with Intelligent Systems to make it a reality. And yes I have several ideas on how to incorporate Pokémon into a Fire Emblem type setting.
One game I feel is unfairly underrated is Kirby epic yarn. Sure, you technically can't die, making the game super easy..... if you're playing casually. It's like the Yoshi game where the insant you go for a 100% run you see how difficult the game really is. Also it's one of the most precious game I've ever played.
Don’t get me started on getting the gourmet race track in castle dedede. Took forever on the wii and then the 3ds version might as well just give it to you

Underrated things have always intrigued me much more than the popular stuff. Things that are talked about all the time you usually know what to expect. Things that are underrated or overshadowed by others you never know what to expect. And once you discover that underrated gem you wish that it will always get that much attention and love it deserves like other popular stuff. With that said I wonder what underrated gems to expect on this video.
I'd say it's more of a pick you poison scenario. Secret Rings is tolerable if you can get past the gyro controls. Black Knight is tolerable if you can get past the endless swinging of your remote. Of course, both are very hard to get past, and clearly didn't work for many people. With that said, I really hope Josh doesn't harp on the soundtrack of BK as well. I'm not too hot on the game but the soundtrack is easily top 10 material for the franchise.

@@amirgarcia547 I like "edgy" stories (more like stories with actual emotion, twists, and good characters) and wiimote flicking (not waggling, you just have to flick the remote for it to work) far more than a glorified mobile game brought to console with some of the worst motion controls on Wii, terrible implemented RPG mechanics, (and I normally love RPG mechanics) a bad story, (though Shara is a cutie uwu) the complete overuse of the crush 40 song used in literally every menu and before and after stage theme, the terribly implemented mission-based gameplay with unclear objectives, and crap final boss, but that's just me. For me, black knight is actually one of the BETTER "modern" sonic games along with Generations and Unleashed.

Out of all of those I think Shantae deserves it the most, got started on Nintendo consoles, large chunk of the fanbase owns a Switch, no prior series representatives and a moveset perfect for Smash as it is, and not in any other fighting games yet. As much as I love Kefka his powers don't translate super well to a Smash Bros. format and he's already in Dissidia and there's already two FF characters in the game with no obvious heroic counterpart either since FFVI has no real main character, also personally if I had to pick another FF rep I would want Kuja, Gabranth or Garland personally. Geno straight up does not deserve to be in Smash, he is a side character in only one game and is only ever relevant because of memes, and aside from nostalgia blindness cannot understand why anyone would seriously think he should be in smash over literally countless other better candidates. So yeah Shantae for Smash, and or Risky Boots.
So many games I like were mentioned in this I thank you for that. From the Radiant Saga of Fire Emblem, to Pokemon Ranger: SoA (The best one in the series,) Mega Man Star Force (criminally underrated,) and Mario & Luigi Partners in Time (my favorite in the Mario & Luigi Series) You brought attention to games I've been recommending to people for years. Thank you. Some of my best memories are of me and my cousin fighting each other in the Mega Man Star Force vs. Across all 3 games. Ah memories...
The minute you said Fire Emblem I KNEW which games you'd bring up. The Radiance Saga is one of my FAVORITE game series and the fact that I had to try extremely hard NOT to lose people made me think about everything. It's part of what I loved about the games!! You HAD to consider what to do so you wouldn't risk people! And the story was so compelling!! Ike trying to hard to follow in his Father's footsteps, Micaiah trying to help her country to become better, the Laguz Struggle to be accepted... It's all so GOOD. Thank you for bringing them up!!
Sonic and the Secret Rings is part of why Sonic 06 was a disaster. Nintendo wanted a Sonic game for their new console and Sega couldn't figure out how to get 06 to run properly on the Wii's underpowered hardware. So they split their development team in two and assigned half of the staff previously meant for 06 to work on Secret Rings for Nintendo. So that made 06's troubled production even worse.
@@sonicstar917 Another major issue with Secret Rings was it's completely non-linear story progression. You had to do a bunch of random side missions to unlock the new area and then they hard lock you behind getting one specific Secret Ring for the fire boss which means...even more unneeded side missions. Sure they did the same thing with the Wii version of Unleashed but in that game the controls were so much better and the missions less infuriating. Also....screw the Secret Rings Super Sonic Variant. Black Knight's Golden Armor Sonic is so much more badass than a bad reskin fusion of Sonic and Shadow.
Honorable Mentions: *Pokemon Conquest -I freaking love this game for the idea and gameplay alone. I still pray that a sequel will be made with more pokemon and more attacks for them to work with. And bring mega evolutions! *Dark Souls 2 -The black sheep of the franchise. The only things I didn't like were the limited enemy respawns and HP cap lowering mechanic every time you die. Other than that, the game is still pretty good. *Batman Arkham Origins -For what it's worth, the game played and controlled great and the bosses were still enjoyable. I never got why people give this game flak. It doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong. *Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts -Don't give me that look, I like this game, ok? I didn't mind the vehicle building feature and had little to no trouble using it or the vehicles themselves (unless you make one that intentionally controls poorly). I was tempted to include the GBA spin-offs, but I haven't played them. *Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex -This was the very first Crash game I ever owned. The Original Crash 4 before Crash 4. And it gets swept under the rug. But I still have a soft spot for it, this has some of my favorite OSTs in the series. Special shout out also goes to Crash Twinsanity for doing something a bit different with the established formula and hunor.
I didn’t hate Arkham Origins, but it just felt kinda lackluster compared to Asylum and especially City, which makes sense since it was handed off to a different developer (WB Games Montreal) while Rocksteady was working on Arkham Knight at the time. That and the game was quite buggy, but WB prioritized working on the Mr. Freeze DLC instead of fixing said bugs, which I honestly think was really dumb.
Path of Radiance and Chain of Memories were two of my favorite games as a teenager, and were directly responsible for my gaming tastes. Thank you for bringing attention to them.
Yes! People who acknowledge not only Pac-Man World 2 (in fact, I know I’m heavily nitpicking, but if this were tied with Pac-Man World 1 (PS1), Pac-Man World Rally, Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness and the Ghostly Adventures games, it would be full circle), but also Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia (Pokemon games after Generation 1 are only underrated by Genwunners who think nostalgia wins over experimentation, but PRSOA, is one of those cases where even a famous franchise can have a poorly known entry. This is the case with most Super Mario World hacks that aren’t The Second Reality Project series or Mario’s Mystery Meat).
Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are what set my standards for modern home console Fire Emblem games so it’s a shame that they didn’t sell as well. Although I’d argue that the Jugdral saga on the SNES is even more overlooked than the Radiance series
Yeah especially since, for thracia 776 at least, many fans call it the “hardest game in the franchise” which turns off many people from playing it. When in actuality the game can be busted open when you know what you’re doing (hello crusader scrolls, capture, and random movement level ups), the problem is that it’s really vague on gameplay mechanics. Hell, thracia came with a whole cassette tape just to teach you the gameplay. Edit: I forgot to add the main reason as well, ITS A JAPANESE EXCLUSIVE

That game was the pinnacle of my childhood and I missed playing it so much when I had to give the cartridge it was in (It was a card with multiple games in it), because my ds broke and it didn’t work on my 3ds. So glad that I got the cartridge of the game itself and somehow had saved all the data from where it left off! Idk how maybe a flashcard had its data, but I’m happy it did

Both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn have gained quite the cult following thanks to every Smash Bros. game since Brawl. And it’s scarcity have made both games coveted collectors items in the retro games market. I was lucky to get them both years ago.
oh my god 14:55 viewing dead space footage always filled me with a sense of confusion, as I felt like I had seen the game before, but it couldn't be right because dead space is in third person and the game I remembered was in first person. My cousin had dead space extraction. that's what I was remembering.

Not going to lie, I LOVED Mario and Luigi Partners in time!!! The story to me was great, the interaction between the bros and the baby's are beyond adorable, the music is fantastic, and the shroobs were terrifying enemies. This is my favorite Mario and Luigi game.
18:15 One of the other things I think that hurt the secret rings, is the fact that it’s production happened simultaneously with 06. In fact it was originally intended for 06 to come out on the WII but they were having so much trouble with it they decided to just make a new game entirely but this split sonic team which very well could be the reason that sonic 06 was such a dud. Coming out right after such a bomb and possibly one of the reasons that it became one kind of unfortunately makes sense that this game isn’t as well liked.
Considering '06 was also forced to be rushed to fan demand AND a holiday release schedule, as well, I'm not surprised the version we got was the most STABLE. X3

I love Megaman Starforce. When I was battling depression, for reasons that are to personal I was able to relate to Geo Stellar. These games are some of my all time favorite games. Thank you Joshscorcher, and Count Shaman. God Bless you both.

It truly is rather sad that the Fire Emblem Tellius duology were the only entries in the series to come out on home consoles worldwide until Three Houses came along. Fun fact: Radiant Dawn was my older brother's very first Fire Emblem game. He got Path Of Radiance much later at a convention.
Megaman Starforce Leo was the first Negaman game i ever played, heck it was the first i ever heard about the blue Bomber and to this day i love this game! Sadly i never played 2 ore 3 much to my never ending shame and regret. But im realy happy you acknowledged the series in this vidio!
For me, there are a few. 1. Halo 3: ODST. It is a short game, yes but I liked the overworld and having to piece together what happened to the squad. I also liked having a game set from the perspective of a non-Spartan soldier where even a Grunt can pose a significant threat in combat. One thing I think people forget is that the Grunts are only goomba level enemies in the series because you are playing as a cybernetically enhanced super-soldier in power armor who is capable of going toe-to-toe with Elites. 2.Call of Duty 3. This is one of the first games in the series to have an over-arching story instead of several campaigns with some occasional overlap. The game tells of an often-forgotten part of WWII the Falaise Gap a massive campaign that led to the Liberation of Paris which started after the capture of Normandy. The campaign shows the fighting from the US 90th Infantry Divison, the British SAS who are assisting the Maquis resistance, The 4th Canadian Armored Divison, and the Polish 1st Armored Divison and their Sherman Fireflies. The game has a great story and was the last Call of Duty game until Ghosts to have a mission where you drive a tank. 3. Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heroes. Star Wars has been for the longest time one of the few licensed franchises to have consistently good games be released but this game is unfairly the lowest rated of the games on Steam. I have played it several times personally and it isn't bad at all. The story fits as a really good arc from the show with ties to the final arc of the first season as Anakin and the 501st Legion are tasked with mopping up the Separatist forces on Ryloth. The series includes fan favorites from the show such as the bounty Cad Bane, and Jedi Master Plo Koon along with some cool new faces like the Skakoan Scientist Kul Teska and Private Switch a rear-echelon "soft-shell" Clone mechanic who shows that just despite being a mechanic, he still has the combat skills of his clone template. The gameplay is fun too even if it is simplistic compared to games like Dark Forces or Republic Commando but it is still very fun. 4. Bioshock 2. Sadly this game is stuck between Infinite and the original without being talked about. The game actually great you get to play as a Big Daddy for the full game and the multiple endings of the original were heavily expanded upon as instead of the ending just focusing on the Little Sisters you also have three characters who work for the main villain that can be killed or spared. The game is also genius in that the villain is a collectivist giving a sharp contrast to the objectivism preached by Andrew Ryan
Skyward Sword HD was announced at the right time lol. But for real I say Skyward is an underrated game with its biggest problem being too long for it's own good. I mean if they trim 1/3 of the story the game would be so much better. That and if they fix the broken Harp Side Quest....makes going 100% a little annoying.
Yes! I LOVED Skyward Sword, but for me its two major problems was its length and those forced motion controls. I mean, yeah, Twilight Princess had motion controls, but they were OPTIONAL! Also, as one of my friends pointed out to me, Skyward Sword's story never happened due to us slaying Demise in the past, making his threat of his incarnation haunting Link's bloodline for the rest of his days...a literal empty threat. X3

I'll give you Malladus, so saying every incarnation is a over statement but you can't deny that Ganon is the major threat throughout the timeline....and let's be honest, if they kept going on the WW timeline Ganon would somehow come back and probably mess with Spirit Track Link. lol

Ghirahim's EXACTLY the kinda ham the Zelda franchise needed out of a villain! XD

Fun fact, Mertoid Prime 1 and Metroid : The Other Metroid, both have the same point. Samus has an Achilles heel, hit that small spot on her back right and she goes down. That may be the projection point for her whole space suit. Explaining why she always turns to face her opponents every time, even Ridley.
Josh one thing is that I might ask if you fell split in square playing favorites with ff7 over the others. Like perhaps how it would been if instead of sephiroth it was terra.
the Bomberman N64 games do feel more LoZ gameplay wise while having a more FF story and art style. Didn't stop me from wasting so many hour against cpus and my little brother in the multiplayer on top of the three 100% playthrough files.
For underrated FF games I'll have to go Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal bearers. It's a pretty great single player story with some good use of the Wii remote I don't see talking about ever. Also darn it Josh Extraction is a prequel not a sequel!

No Wario: Master of Disguise? That was a great game and so many people overlooked it. Although, I *have* seen a lot of remixes of Carpaccio's boss theme and I feel like MoD should be making a resurgence to the fandom. But anyways, hearing Count Shaman's JoJo reference was great and my favorite part of the video.
I'm going to disagree with you about Secret Rings about everything except for the music and I had more fun playing Sonic and the Black Knight, but I agree with you about Mega Man StarForce

We still haven't gotten an original game since Other M, which was released 11 years ago. Federation Force was a spinoff and Samus Returns was a remake. Metroid Prime 4 probably won't be out until at least 2024, and it's possible it might not even be on the switch with how long it's taking to come out!
Metroid Prime 2 is pretty loved in most circles. There’s even a number of people who prefer it over Prime 1. It’s not even that hard if you explore and pick up all the items as they become available to you. It’s also the darkest and grittiest of the Prime games. And though the locations are less varied, I don’t think there’s a single person who would say Sanctuary Fortress isn’t at least in the top 3 best locations in the series. It also has some of the greatest bosses in the series. Granted it has the Boost Guardian which is really bad, but it also has the Quadraxis which is phenomenal.
The King’s Field games are the precursor to the Souls series. They were atmospheric, plodding RPGs that had an emphasis on exploration. Not for everyone but it is one of my favorite games.
I’m really disappointed that both Metroid Prime 2 and 3 are always overshadowed by the first Prime game. Prime 1 is seen as “the best, most revolutionary one”, Prime 3 is “the one with motion controls”, and Prime 2 is “the one with that stupid Spider Guardian boss”.
I have an idea for a list. Top 10 Bosses You Wanted To Fight. Bosses with the best buildup, bosses that ruined your player character's or one of your favorite character's lives or multiple lives, bosses that help your character get over inner turmoil... Things like that.
Honestly, I love the black knights looks and such, but why the Wii? and why on rails? Sword combat favors full control over movement, it's what determines any victory with one, so it being on rails just doomed it to split opinions right off the bat, like they wanted it to fail. Honestly, if skyward sword had a faster character and homing attack with no items, it would be a better version of sonic and the black knight just like that. Hell, I bet just saying this will stir someone in the sonic community to test it (please do, I actually think it deserves a second chance with just better, control is what I think I'm complaining about but I'm stupid, so maybe it's got a different term).
You're forgetting one game, Josh. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, or Ace Combat: Joint Assault or even Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. All three of those are underrated games from the fantastic Ace Combat franchise.
I would pick Star Fox Adventures off the Gamecube. I know people hated the departure to make it more like an adventure RPG, I still love it, even with it's flaws.
I gotta admit, I was concerned with what #1 would be when you two started talking about Mario RPGs. That fanbase is a minefield! That said, I'm glad you picked Partners In Time. That is, TRUELY, the most underrated Mario RPG. In my opinion, it's even better than Bowser's Inside Story.

Yes! Megaman StarForce! This series was actually my introduction to Megaman. Granted, I first saw the anime on Toonami (great opening, btw), but it got me interested in the games. And honestly, I was surprised to find out that this game’s style was an outlier in the franchise. Weird, I know, but I’m so happy it’s getting attention!

Agreed. That was a awesome game. Heck Nintendo was planning on doing a spiritual successor to Pokémon Conquest via a crossover title between Pokémon and Fire Emblem however the concept of Pokémon X Fire Emblem was scrapped in favor of the crossover concept that was Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem which eventually got released as Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. I still hope Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company revisit the idea of a Pokémon X Fire Emblem title, and work with Intelligent Systems to make it a reality. And yes I have several ideas on how to incorporate Pokémon into a Fire Emblem type setting.

One game I feel is unfairly underrated is Kirby epic yarn. Sure, you technically can't die, making the game super easy..... if you're playing casually. It's like the Yoshi game where the insant you go for a 100% run you see how difficult the game really is. Also it's one of the most precious game I've ever played.

Things that are underrated or overshadowed by others you never know what to expect. And once you discover that underrated gem you wish that it will always get that much attention and love it deserves like other popular stuff. I'd say it's more of a pick you poison scenario.
Secret Rings is tolerable if you can get past the gyro controls.
Black Knight is tolerable if you can get past the endless swinging of your remote.
Of course, both are very hard to get past, and clearly didn't work for many people.
With that said, I really hope Josh doesn't harp on the soundtrack of BK as well. I'm not too hot on the game but the soundtrack is easily top 10 material for the franchise.

@@amirgarcia547 I like "edgy" stories (more like stories with actual emotion, twists, and good characters) and wiimote flicking (not waggling, you just have to flick the remote for it to work) far more than a glorified mobile game brought to console with some of the worst motion controls on Wii, terrible implemented RPG mechanics, (and I normally love RPG mechanics) a bad story, (though Shara is a cutie uwu) the complete overuse of the crush 40 song used in literally every menu and before and after stage theme, the terribly implemented mission-based gameplay with unclear objectives, and crap final boss, but that's just me. For me, black knight is actually one of the BETTER "modern" sonic games along with Generations and Unleashed.

Hunters actually has a pretty damn good single player despite being a spinoff. The Gorea fight is a heck of a boss too.
Both are overlooked and underrated... but not as much as Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

Out of all of those I think Shantae deserves it the most, got started on Nintendo consoles, large chunk of the fanbase owns a Switch, no prior series representatives and a moveset perfect for Smash as it is, and not in any other fighting games yet. As much as I love Kefka his powers don't translate super well to a Smash Bros. format and he's already in Dissidia and there's already two FF characters in the game with no obvious heroic counterpart either since FFVI has no real main character, also personally if I had to pick another FF rep I would want Kuja, Gabranth or Garland personally. Geno straight up does not deserve to be in Smash, he is a side character in only one game and is only ever relevant because of memes, and aside from nostalgia blindness cannot understand why anyone would seriously think he should be in smash over literally countless other better candidates. So yeah Shantae for Smash, and or Risky Boots.
Don't forget Frisk, Crash, and Dante.

Some of my best memories are of me and my cousin fighting each other in the Mega Man Star Force vs. Across all 3 games. Ah memories...
The minute you said Fire Emblem I KNEW which games you'd bring up. The Radiance Saga is one of my FAVORITE game series and the fact that I had to try extremely hard NOT to lose people made me think about everything. It's part of what I loved about the games!! You HAD to consider what to do so you wouldn't risk people! And the story was so compelling!! Ike trying to hard to follow in his Father's footsteps, Micaiah trying to help her country to become better, the Laguz Struggle to be accepted... It's all so GOOD. Thank you for bringing them up!!

Secret Rings was FRUSTRATING to control at times.
Sonic and the Secret Rings is part of why Sonic 06 was a disaster. Nintendo wanted a Sonic game for their new console and Sega couldn't figure out how to get 06 to run properly on the Wii's underpowered hardware. So they split their development team in two and assigned half of the staff previously meant for 06 to work on Secret Rings for Nintendo. So that made 06's troubled production even worse.

@@sonicstar917 Another major issue with Secret Rings was it's completely non-linear story progression. You had to do a bunch of random side missions to unlock the new area and then they hard lock you behind getting one specific Secret Ring for the fire boss which means...even more unneeded side missions. Sure they did the same thing with the Wii version of Unleashed but in that game the controls were so much better and the missions less infuriating. Also....screw the Secret Rings Super Sonic Variant. Black Knight's Golden Armor Sonic is so much more badass than a bad reskin fusion of Sonic and Shadow.

*Pokemon Conquest
-I freaking love this game for the idea and gameplay alone. I still pray that a sequel will be made with more pokemon and more attacks for them to work with. And bring mega evolutions!
*Dark Souls 2
-The black sheep of the franchise. The only things I didn't like were the limited enemy respawns and HP cap lowering mechanic every time you die. Other than that, the game is still pretty good.
*Batman Arkham Origins
-For what it's worth, the game played and controlled great and the bosses were still enjoyable. I never got why people give this game flak. It doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong.
*Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts
-Don't give me that look, I like this game, ok? I didn't mind the vehicle building feature and had little to no trouble using it or the vehicles themselves (unless you make one that intentionally controls poorly). I was tempted to include the GBA spin-offs, but I haven't played them.
*Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
-This was the very first Crash game I ever owned. The Original Crash 4 before Crash 4. And it gets swept under the rug. But I still have a soft spot for it, this has some of my favorite OSTs in the series.
Special shout out also goes to Crash Twinsanity for doing something a bit different with the established formula and hunor.
Megas in Conquest means one thing MEGA BLACK RAYQUAZA and are we ready?
I didn’t hate Arkham Origins, but it just felt kinda lackluster compared to Asylum and especially City, which makes sense since it was handed off to a different developer (WB Games Montreal) while Rocksteady was working on Arkham Knight at the time. That and the game was quite buggy, but WB prioritized working on the Mr. Freeze DLC instead of fixing said bugs, which I honestly think was really dumb.
Arkham Origins is IMO the 2nd of the franchise
Path of Radiance and Chain of Memories were two of my favorite games as a teenager, and were directly responsible for my gaming tastes. Thank you for bringing attention to them.
Even though they're honorable mentions, I'm glad Pokemon Ranger Shadows of Almia and Pac-Man World 2 were acknowledged.

Yes! People who acknowledge not only Pac-Man World 2 (in fact, I know I’m heavily nitpicking, but if this were tied with Pac-Man World 1 (PS1), Pac-Man World Rally, Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness and the Ghostly Adventures games, it would be full circle), but also Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia (Pokemon games after Generation 1 are only underrated by Genwunners who think nostalgia wins over experimentation, but PRSOA, is one of those cases where even a famous franchise can have a poorly known entry. This is the case with most Super Mario World hacks that aren’t The Second Reality Project series or Mario’s Mystery Meat).
I agree that PIT had that way that stayed with me. It doesn't help that the M&L, and Luigi's Mansion are cannon of the main Mario games.(In my book)
Mega Man Star Force is on the list.

Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are what set my standards for modern home console Fire Emblem games so it’s a shame that they didn’t sell as well. Although I’d argue that the Jugdral saga on the SNES is even more overlooked than the Radiance series
Yeah especially since, for thracia 776 at least, many fans call it the “hardest game in the franchise” which turns off many people from playing it. When in actuality the game can be busted open when you know what you’re doing (hello crusader scrolls, capture, and random movement level ups), the problem is that it’s really vague on gameplay mechanics. Hell, thracia came with a whole cassette tape just to teach you the gameplay.
Edit: I forgot to add the main reason as well, ITS A JAPANESE EXCLUSIVE

That game was the pinnacle of my childhood and I missed playing it so much when I had to give the cartridge it was in (It was a card with multiple games in it), because my ds broke and it didn’t work on my 3ds. So glad that I got the cartridge of the game itself and somehow had saved all the data from where it left off! Idk how maybe a flashcard had its data, but I’m happy it did

Not going to lie, I LOVED Mario and Luigi Partners in time!!! The story to me was great, the interaction between the bros and the baby's are beyond adorable, the music is fantastic, and the shroobs were terrifying enemies. This is my favorite Mario and Luigi game.

18:15 One of the other things I think that hurt the secret rings, is the fact that it’s production happened simultaneously with 06.
In fact it was originally intended for 06 to come out on the WII but they were having so much trouble with it they decided to just make a new game entirely but this split sonic team which very well could be the reason that sonic 06 was such a dud.
Coming out right after such a bomb and possibly one of the reasons that it became one kind of unfortunately makes sense that this game isn’t as well liked.
Considering '06 was also forced to be rushed to fan demand AND a holiday release schedule, as well, I'm not surprised the version we got was the most STABLE. X3

I love Megaman Starforce. When I was battling depression, for reasons that are to personal I was able to relate to Geo Stellar. These games are some of my all time favorite games. Thank you Joshscorcher, and Count Shaman. God Bless you both.

Megaman Starforce Leo was the first Negaman game i ever played, heck it was the first i ever heard about the blue Bomber and to this day i love this game! Sadly i never played 2 ore 3 much to my never ending shame and regret. But im realy happy you acknowledged the series in this vidio!
Kirby and the amazing Mirror perhaps?
For me, there are a few.
1. Halo 3: ODST. It is a short game, yes but I liked the overworld and having to piece together what happened to the squad. I also liked having a game set from the perspective of a non-Spartan soldier where even a Grunt can pose a significant threat in combat. One thing I think people forget is that the Grunts are only goomba level enemies in the series because you are playing as a cybernetically enhanced super-soldier in power armor who is capable of going toe-to-toe with Elites.
2.Call of Duty 3. This is one of the first games in the series to have an over-arching story instead of several campaigns with some occasional overlap. The game tells of an often-forgotten part of WWII the Falaise Gap a massive campaign that led to the Liberation of Paris which started after the capture of Normandy. The campaign shows the fighting from the US 90th Infantry Divison, the British SAS who are assisting the Maquis resistance, The 4th Canadian Armored Divison, and the Polish 1st Armored Divison and their Sherman Fireflies. The game has a great story and was the last Call of Duty game until Ghosts to have a mission where you drive a tank.
3. Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heroes. Star Wars has been for the longest time one of the few licensed franchises to have consistently good games be released but this game is unfairly the lowest rated of the games on Steam. I have played it several times personally and it isn't bad at all. The story fits as a really good arc from the show with ties to the final arc of the first season as Anakin and the 501st Legion are tasked with mopping up the Separatist forces on Ryloth. The series includes fan favorites from the show such as the bounty Cad Bane, and Jedi Master Plo Koon along with some cool new faces like the Skakoan Scientist Kul Teska and Private Switch a rear-echelon "soft-shell" Clone mechanic who shows that just despite being a mechanic, he still has the combat skills of his clone template. The gameplay is fun too even if it is simplistic compared to games like Dark Forces or Republic Commando but it is still very fun.
4. Bioshock 2. Sadly this game is stuck between Infinite and the original without being talked about. The game actually great you get to play as a Big Daddy for the full game and the multiple endings of the original were heavily expanded upon as instead of the ending just focusing on the Little Sisters you also have three characters who work for the main villain that can be killed or spared. The game is also genius in that the villain is a collectivist giving a sharp contrast to the objectivism preached by Andrew Ryan
Skyward Sword HD was announced at the right time lol.
But for real I say Skyward is an underrated game with its biggest problem being too long for it's own good. I mean if they trim 1/3 of the story the game would be so much better. That and if they fix the broken Harp Side Quest....makes going 100% a little annoying.
Yes! I LOVED Skyward Sword, but for me its two major problems was its length and those forced motion controls. I mean, yeah, Twilight Princess had motion controls, but they were OPTIONAL! Also, as one of my friends pointed out to me, Skyward Sword's story never happened due to us slaying Demise in the past, making his threat of his incarnation haunting Link's bloodline for the rest of his days...a literal empty threat. X3

I'll give you Malladus, so saying every incarnation is a over statement but you can't deny that Ganon is the major threat throughout the timeline....and let's be honest, if they kept going on the WW timeline Ganon would somehow come back and probably mess with Spirit Track Link. lol

Actually, funnily enough, when Skyward Sword was first announced and shown off, I thought Ghirahim was going to be Vaati. It's even crazier when you realize their roles are kinda similar, playing second fiddle to the big bad. The only difference is Ghirahim did it better: that boy can MOVE! Ghirahim's EXACTLY the kinda ham the Zelda franchise needed out of a villain! XD

I actually started with Metroid Prime 2 before 1. And I was honestly shocked at how much it’s glanced over.

I'd say Bobmerman 64: The Second Attack has a more "Zelda" feel than "Final Fantasy", but to each his own. Great list as always!
the Bomberman N64 games do feel more LoZ gameplay wise while having a more FF story and art style. Didn't stop me from wasting so many hour against cpus and my little brother in the multiplayer on top of the three 100% playthrough files.
For underrated FF games I'll have to go Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal bearers. It's a pretty great single player story with some good use of the Wii remote I don't see talking about ever.

No Wario: Master of Disguise? That was a great game and so many people overlooked it. Although, I *have* seen a lot of remixes of Carpaccio's boss theme and I feel like MoD should be making a resurgence to the fandom. But anyways, hearing Count Shaman's JoJo reference was great and my favorite part of the video.
Wario: Master of Disguise - the forgotten Wario Land title and the ultimate virgin game. Truly a masterpiece of it's time.

Might be slowly easing back into cult series status with the lack of new installments in the franchise.
We still haven't gotten an original game since Other M, which was released 11 years ago. Federation Force was a spinoff and Samus Returns was a remake. Metroid Prime 4 probably won't be out until at least 2024, and it's possible it might not even be on the switch with how long it's taking to come out!
I have to disagree with you on Sonic and the Secret Rings(mostly because the controls were terrible and barely responsive)
Metroid Prime 2 is pretty loved in most circles. There’s even a number of people who prefer it over Prime 1. It’s not even that hard if you explore and pick up all the items as they become available to you.
It’s also the darkest and grittiest of the Prime games. And though the locations are less varied, I don’t think there’s a single person who would say Sanctuary Fortress isn’t at least in the top 3 best locations in the series.
It also has some of the greatest bosses in the series. Granted it has the Boost Guardian which is really bad, but it also has the Quadraxis which is phenomenal.

The King’s Field games are the precursor to the Souls series. They were atmospheric, plodding RPGs that had an emphasis on exploration. Not for everyone but it is one of my favorite games.
I’m really disappointed that both Metroid Prime 2 and 3 are always overshadowed by the first Prime game. Prime 1 is seen as “the best, most revolutionary one”, Prime 3 is “the one with motion controls”, and Prime 2 is “the one with that stupid Spider Guardian boss”.

Honestly, I love the black knights looks and such, but why the Wii? and why on rails? Sword combat favors full control over movement, it's what determines any victory with one, so it being on rails just doomed it to split opinions right off the bat, like they wanted it to fail. Honestly, if skyward sword had a faster character and homing attack with no items, it would be a better version of sonic and the black knight just like that. Hell, I bet just saying this will stir someone in the sonic community to test it (please do, I actually think it deserves a second chance with just better, control is what I think I'm complaining about but I'm stupid, so maybe it's got a different term).
You're forgetting one game, Josh. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, or Ace Combat: Joint Assault or even Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. All three of those are underrated games from the fantastic Ace Combat franchise.
I would pick Star Fox Adventures off the Gamecube. I know people hated the departure to make it more like an adventure RPG, I still love it, even with it's flaws.
It's not an Action RPG though. It's a Zelda game, but not as good in some areas.

I gotta admit, I was concerned with what #1 would be when you two started talking about Mario RPGs. That fanbase is a minefield! That said, I'm glad you picked Partners In Time. That is, TRUELY, the most underrated Mario RPG. In my opinion, it's even better than Bowser's Inside Story.
