    Very interesting, thank you. I was actually trying to find out what the Docking Station looks like on a wall (I have limited space). I bought the V8 in 2016, in 2019 I bought a non-Dyson battery replacement, at some point the lock on the bin broke so I have to watch it doesn't open while I vacuum, and my finger starts to burn with the trigger device when I have used the vacuum a while. Otherwise, it does it's job but I feel it time we went our separate ways and I am seriously considering the Gen5; my trigger finger has had enough! 😀 By the way, just bought the Dyson Airwrap (for hair) and it's brilliant!

  • @pluhformybruh

    So basically if youre a regular person the v15 is a better option for being cheaper. If you really like the better laser, you can buy the gen5 hardwood head separately and just use that one. $30-50 head vs $350 barely better vacuum

      the suction is significantly higher on a new vacuum but i didn't see the difference on the video, at all. Also battery is essentially bigger makes vacuum better.

  • @petrkubena

    No, the battery isn't any bigger. In fact it has marginally smaller capacity. It has different shape (longer but narrower), but that's more for the redistribution of weight.

    From UX point of view, without using the trigger is much better. Because when you use the trigger you actually grip it tighter and that’s tiring after awhile, especially the vacuum is heavy. I know it trigger is more natural but if you don’t need to press it down when you move around it’s actually quite easy to hold the stick. Think about driving on the steering wheel on a few fingers (yes not safe) vs gripping it while driving. You get the idea.

    • @3litepker

    The ONLY 2 things to consider - The v15 is lighter but has a trigger pull instead of an on/off switch.
    Both have the same laser now.
    So are you willing to pay $200 more (current pricing) to have the switch instead of the trigger pull?

    • @SuperNoodles0011

    • @lords-electrical

      It isn't really an issue, because the suction is very good, so despite the fact the crevice tool is wider, its never seems to have been an issue.

    • @lords-electrical

  • @fettlife

    I just bought a V15 Detect Absolute directly from Dyson and I was confused at first because it actually has the same kind of connection at the vacuum base that you show here with the Gen5 where you connect that crevice tool, then the wand. and you need to keep that on there to attach other tools. I'm not sure why this is or maybe the latest Detect Absolutes are shipping with that feature. It was confusing to me at first a this is my first Dyson vaccum.

      Do you like it? I was confused too so I’ve been looking up videos. I just can’t figure out why there’s such a big price difference for very minor upgrades.

    • @DHMeister

      @@jamesa8225Because Dyson is GREEDY! They keep changing names for the same feature and they can't seem to tell you what's in the box outright! It's also annoying that Dyson will add one feature (submarine) but make it completely incompatible with a newer vac (Gen5). All of this is intentional to confuse the consumer and to just get them to settle! Great demonstration though.

    • @soonerborn9073

      @@DHMeister They aren't greedy. They are trying to stay in business. That requires CONSTANT innovation and R&D. If you're in the market for a high-end Dyson then you aren't worried about stupid nonsense like this.

    • @DHMeister

      @@soonerborn9073 Do you work for their company? Just asking. It's greed. None of the other competitors are priced like that. And when I called, even the sales person didn't agree with their name changes and said it was confusing even to them. I don't think you should be concerned what I am or am not concerned about TBH. After doing my research (and I totally understand R&D and the costs) I won't be buying one from them. The Shark is a very nice option and competitive.
