@@mjj8560 I mean, 4000 people + collected $800 in store credit, that's 3.2 mil just in store credit + all the costs for logistics and advertisement would be putting them over 4 mil easily, and what people fail to realise is that McKay's is in the business of selling pre owned goods, and a good portion of that 4000 people will be re sellers, that then post those items on Facebook or other marketplaces or online on eBay etc, taking customers that may have purchased at McKay's. So they basically shot themselves in the foot. Yeah they would have received a lot of publicity from the whole thing, and people would have made extra purchases while at the store, but to the tune of 4mil plus? I don't think so
@@LachlanFarah They didn't pay 3.2 mil for the items that people will be using the store credit for. I am not sure what margins this store runs on, but I am sure they didn't pay more than 50% of the item value, so that would cut their cost to 1.6 Mil for the store credits. Still a crazy promotion!
I found a JAG coin series dvd set at a St Vinnie's for $15 because it had been sitting there for so long, the price had dropped and dropped and I used one of their %20 off donation coupons to drop it another three bucks... so $12 for a $132.22 set on Amazon, such an awesome find....it's in my personal collection and I sold my single season sets so it probably actually made me money to buy the set
@@adamdurling9671 yeah mine didnt have the coin either, that's why I actually had to come back the next day to grab it cause I wasn't sure what they went for and If the coin was gonna be okay without. It still looks pretty in the collection. A very nice sale for you, congrats!!

I just sold that set recently on eBay WITHOUT the coin for $100.
