As the leader of the family, it is paramount that the father/husband protect his family. As another post stated, you have to be your own first responder. That means having a force multiplier as being Chuck Norris is not an option.

I can count on my two hands those people I would go to jail for in defense of. That's it. It's laudable to stand to defend another. Yet there are only a few I would go to jail for. So random on the street. Sorry. I will call the cops and try to dissuade but I won't go to jail for some person I don't know or put my family in harms way. Sorry. Not going to happen.
