@iamjake you should get a TRX to train with if you want to get back to basics with your training. You can easily attach it to your roof rack and get a fantastic workout in 45 minutes. It was initially designed by a Navy Seal to help keep his conditioning up while on deployment, so you have to know it's legit. Great to see that your back in the ol' saddle. Take care.

We were there 6 yrs ago but didnt do the trail that goes up thru Medano Pass. This year we are...... then headed on up to Montrose. Then Ouray and then on to Moab then back to Ouray. Two words that will change your existance: AUSTRALIAN SHEEPSKINS! I do the Portland to Spokane Slog and the sheepskins made the drive fun if you can imagine that!
Jake try a 9 dollar tarp from wal mart that they sell in fist sized package. fold it over and take it over the role bars then use bungies. It won't rattle and it gives you two flexable storage pockets that are soft.

You really need to start thinking about weight distribution. There alot off weight on that rear carrier. Ever fought about mounting the spare on the hood like the old land rovers?

You are probaly right. Maybe move the jerrycans to the front fenders, it cant be very safe to drive around like that - lots of weight on top + lots of weight so far behind + short wheelbased lifted jeep = roll over accident.
Great point . I was thinking the same, hood and/or rear panel racks on the outside mounted higher than the wheels and ran the length of back on each side.

If you want to start running more, try it in the lowland first. You will be out of breath all the time up in CO springs.

Jake, try some Star San for your water jugs. It's great for killing bacteria and it's food grade so no chance of it harming you or Annie. You can get it at any brew supply store.
