Loving the daily vids again but don't think you need to upload daily. The power source upgrades are really great, and we need to definitely look into one. Hubby needs a CPAP and I need O2 at night, which has cramped our camping style so much. Unless we have an option to pay for power, we are SOL. Rustic isn't an option. We are hoping for a small trailer next year so we can camp again. WNY (Chautauqua area) is 3 hrs from us and just gorgeous. We both definitely miss camping so much and would love to spend a month of summer overlanding. Red will allow us to do just that!
Look at goalzero solar. It's very dependable which it sounds like that's what you need.

Good information. I use a LiPo48-138W system that has built in solar cells plus I have an 88w external solar panel I can also connect. I purchased this to run a 50qt ARB Freezer - we run the ARB off a DC plug in our jeep but when off-grid I wanted something that could keep the ARB running for at least 24-hrs and I didn't want to have to run my jeep. The longest I've run the ARB off the LiPo is about 13-hrs without issue. I remember in one of your earlier videos when you were re configuring your jeep to sleep two people, you had an ARB on a pull-out shelf. I don't remember seeing when you got rid of it but you seemed real happy having it since it eliminated your need to keep getting ice.

Just found your channel I have been binge watching it all day and I love it.
I have 2 Odyssey Batteries under the hood. I have a 1000W power inverter which has ability to hook solar panels to it to charge the battery. I also have a secondary solar controller connected to the battery in which I can connect solar panels as well and charge the secondary battery. The 1000W has a 2.5 USB and 2 power outlets. The solar controller has 2 USB and I have it connected to a small distribution system with 2 more USB ports and Cigarette lighter. The 1000W and secondary solar controller are located under drivers seat. manual I can charge each battery seperatly as I drive or I can charge the secondary battery with solar. primary batter is charge with alternator.

You could mount a solar panel on the hood to avoid putting it on the roof, and possibly put a bracket with a tripod set up to let you detach and move it when camping
Also could mount a flux capacitor from the zport under the middle panel

You’ve got quite the little setup there Jake. Your equipment seems to hold up well to the conditions you’re using them in. To say the least I’m sure it took you a while to accumulate all those gems/ quality equip.
How long to charge the Kodiak fully from the 12v?
New England is known for it's dreary weather. When the sun does pop out everybody freaks out and makes a big deal about it. This is the complete opposite of California. I have lived here my whole life. When it's 50 degrees people put their shorts on like whoopie!

His Jeep was "modified" while in the SW. Now seems less safe since original engineering undermined and less comfortable without functioning soft or hard top, but his Jeep to do as he wishes! I'd like to see them safe and comfortable, but they're grown men, they should certainly do as they see fit.

Gotta be honest @Butch Greene, I did think that way, and made a similar post myself not long ago. I now see them as basically paid entertainers. Like most entertainers, they make money from their viewers (Just YT, not TV, concerts, radio, plays, or movies)., This posting was entertainment with a Kodiak commercial too. OK by me.

But this guy is using his channel to bail himself out of crap homeless situations where you should be self sufficient. But hes a user. Talks about how the Jeep community comes to the rescue all thr timr, but its really just askingnfor handouts all the time and using SO MANY KIND HEARTED PEOPLE. I know people give out of the kindness of their hearts, but dang. Pay your own way.

I think folks bringing cans to the "Jamborees" is a great start, but wonder why he doesn't do something like plan to build a handicap ramp for a disabled vet's home, or paint their house as a weekend Jeep community event in each state. What a lasting legacy. His followers would love it, and he would do much more than collect cans. He could also find some deserving 4X4 owner and wrench on their Jeep. Imagine what could be accomplished. Giving back would result in money pouring in for him. It would then be a bit more like working for his supporters. Just a thought....

Ben is one of his childhood friends, that started traveling like 4-6 months ago. He came with Jake after Jake took a break when his dad passed away.
Ben is Jake's bestfriend and a great support and to him.
Remember this is Jake's dream, not this guy's dream or the girl's dream. So, the girl had to go since this is not her dream to live on the road. This guy too has to go someday.
Jake is traveling and he makes money while traveling. Anybody traveling with him is not making money. So, how would they sustain themself? They have to leave Jake and go find a job or start their own youtube channel. Jake cannot sustain another human being from patreon pledges. Besides, he might not be getting enough money for that. So, this is his gig. The others have to figure out their own source of income at some point if not, they are kind of a burden to Jake's income.
