@@MysticMayne Tetsuo & Youth is a more "cohesive" album with lighter sounding production, but The Cool is the more "accessible" album with a lot of replay value Hip Hop Saved My Life, Superstar, Dumb it Down, Streets on Fire, Little Weapon, The Coolest, darker sounding production. @@koolkai4299 Lighter production?!?! Mural, Blur My Hands, Body of Work, Chopper, Prisoner, Madonna, No Scratches, T.R.O.N don’t have light production and thats over half the tracklist. The Cool is only somewhat accessible due to it being a single driven album, Atlantic could’ve tried to push more singles honestly, i find it funny one of the best tracks on the The Cool was a bonus track called Blackout if you bought it at Circuit City and it definitely wasn’t a single. What about The Cool also having filler whilst T&Y doesn’t. Anyway, i hope you’re not saying The Cool is better because it was more accessible, as if that equates to quality. All eyes were him at the time but its unfortunate because 2014-15 Lu can easily rap circles around his 2006-07 self. The Cool is to Drogas Wave as Food & Liquor is to Tetsuo & Youth.
Tetsuo & Youth and Food & Liquor are his best in my opinion though, to each his own i guess.
Only became a Lupe fan after the Royce diss but man... I really can't believe I had not really been following him all this while. Clearly the best hip hop artist living right now and also heavily underrated.
Someone's been sleep lol but that's better. You get to listen to his music with new ears. He got some classics in his catalog
go back and listen to his work. not EVERY single project is good or great, despite what most Lupe super fans say, and i consider myself a big day one fan. but Food & Liquor is my all time favorite hiphop/rap album, but The Cool is very good as well (personally i can do with out “Lazers” and “Drogas Light”). But to really know him you absolutely must listen to his early mixtapes.
@@MacLaw3084 true. The mixtapes from back in the day are gems
Fahrenheit 1/15 Part I The Truth Is - introduced me to Lupe Fiasco
Lupe Fiasco is like a Hip-Hop savior.. with a twist! He always speaks his mind and the truth..can never go wrong with Lupe Fiasco, one of the best
How funny that lupe been talking like this for a min and now hes on the spot because too many rappers are talking truth so now everything he was saying back then, people realized that he might be right, speaking of a highly Eloquent / intelligent person
36:20 he went next level and you could easy get lost and slip through the cracks cause right after that he walks you through a dope freestyle only to break that down and with a even deeper and massage and meaning
I say all that to say this Man this guy next level
i was at my lowest and I heard Drogus Wave... and it made me higher!!!!!! thAn i've ever been!
Drill Music In Zion one of the best albums of the year 🔥🔥🔥
I haven't made it past precious things.... I've listened to it over and over and over for two days
Since 2006 this man has given us precept upon precept like no other artist period! He’s wave lengths ahead of being the best rapper. We talking like one of the best minds that just happens to rap.
I love this interview, the growth and how Lupe carries himself it's really poetics about him. #LASER!!!
The Juneteenth rant and the MLK rant were incredible. Hahah. Lupe is the GOAT.
Lupe, Yasiin Bey and immortal technique most underrated rappers.
Add Black Thought and Tobe Nwigwe
@@celestialnubian 🔥
Lupe's universe, man. It is so unique and complex. Not accessible at all, unlike Tyler's, but once you get inside, damn, it is a rewarding entrance.
This was a fun interview. Lupe is a trip.
Good to see Lupe promote the record. Nobody is on his level 🐐
It's also wild that Lupe does not have a Narduwar interview 👀👀
Lupe has always been a lyracist ....and one of the Great things he is intelligent and very bright and you can hear it in his lyrics ...he is from the vein of intelligent Rap Conscious back pack whatever you call it....he stays in his Lane which the great ones do...peace to LUPE and I'm gon listen to his album very insightful ....
Rappers are the new philosophers.
Some are trash, some mediocre, some amazing, and some are prolific.
Lupe has solidified himself over and over again. Very few can body tracks the way he does
Very few if any at all!
Such a terrible comment . Lupe was AALWAYS like this, intelligent , full of wisdom.... 99% of rappers are fucking idiots on drugs all day. The hell u talkin bout " rappers are the new philosophers" are u a bot?.
Father forgive me for waiting so long to listen to this album. Drill Music in Zion is a masterpiece.
I remember listening to the Enemy of the State mixtape back in high school when it dropped. Then I started listening to The Cool & found my way through his catalogue. Glad he's talking about ownership & how hip-hop should be embraced like fine art because his raps were like straight poetry to me. "Words I Never Said," "Kick, Push," "Paris Tokyo," & "I'm Beamin'" inspired me even to this day.
A Legit GOAT.
Perhaps the most talented rapper...EVER.👍✅
No disrespect to 3000, no.1 on my list.
Number one of mine list as well
Lupe has been a Living Legend for years. A True artist who didn't limit himself, his value, or how far he can take his artistry. IF anyone is the epitome of inspiration it's Lupe Fiasco. Drill Music In Zion is a Masterpiece smfh.
47:30 that flip in perspective where Lupe found the food in the liquor
Basically, Black Americans (those who are descendants of the black people who were enslaved in this nation) need to control what Juneteenth is, what flag to use, what colors to wear, how to celebrate it, what trinkets you buy to celebrate it, so on and so forth or others will dictate it
I can't wait for his Drogas Wav performance. So I guess Lupe is going to do a performance/ installation of sorts. I am here for it.
I really admire Lupe, he has always been in a league of his own.
Lu is one of the greatest lyricist of all time, and he from the crib #chitown❤️
We love lupe
This interview was amazing to watch. I always try and tap in with his IG Live because Lupe just has a way of keeping you tuned in. Hope you guys can do another one very soon 🖖🏾
This entire interview is the album. How is this possible? The meta narrative is the interview. This layering is next level.
Mans a genius
Thank You 🙏🏾 #Lookwhatimade☮️💖🙏🏾
@@shirleyjaco1191 No, thank you. You guys are amazing
@@shirleyjaco1191 thank you 🙏🏾
I peeped that after listening on the album all weekend and then coming back to this interview. Lupe is something else entirely & I'm grateful to be able to be in an era with artist like him making his legacy.
