Good job. Seems a bit of a faf here in the UK we have 230v everywhere just plug and play.

+spanermantim Standard circuits in the US are 120v. Not sure why, someone along the line probably thought they'd be less deadly. Anyway, we still use 240v you just have to pull 2 legs of 120v. 240v is better in a lot of respects, electric motors run more efficiently.

Wire colour is confusing here the live is brown, neutral is blue and earth is green/yellow.

Thinking the Red and black should be hot , and the white a neutral . Then future people will not get them mixed up .

+wtbm123 I did some reading and I believe you are correct. You're supposed to use red and black, but if using 3 wire you use white and black. You're also supposed to label it if you use white and black. I will probably swap the red and white when I install the new circuit breaker.

+jevchance Yes 12-3 , 10-3 or what ever gauge has 3 shielded wires inside including the red for the extra leg for 220 and a non shielded ground . 12-2 has 2 shielded wires and a non shielded ground for 110, because only need the black for one hot wire , where 220 gets the red thrown in for the second 110 leg to make 220 . Anyhow glad you got the compressor going . I feel lost when i have no compressor running .

+wtbm123 Next problem is how stinking loud the thing is! I may need to build an enclosure or something.

+jevchance not sure if you can on that one , but if can run the intake air out side , they seem much quieter , but still noisy .
