She was alive in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries... that is truly amazing 🙏
@Mackenzi_Holmes That's not how you count centuries, bud.
Wow. So impressive! She lived in 3 centuries. You have great genes.
@Mackenzi_Holmes no, we are currently in the 21st century ☺
You count when the centuries come not then they’ve passed I suppose
When she quoted Psalm 23 I got the goosebumps seriously just wanted to cry.
God obviously gave her a gift that she didn’t even ask for. She’s clearly a miracle.
She read Psalm; 23.
Mrs. Naomi birthday is 2 days before mine. Literally the prayer she recited ...that's the 1st and my favorite prayer. "Thy rod and thy staff, tho prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies " - the Lord's prayer. I was taught that prayer as a child by my mother. We take our walk with God seriously. My maternal grandmother is 97. Still functions well mentally, can still hear but she can’t walk due to medical reasons. Honestly I think having a stressless life and her children taking care of her is keeping her alive. She doesn’t drink or smoke but she’s not eating the healthiest diet in the world, in fact she won’t eat anything new outside of what she already likes. Since I’ve been alive, she’s always lived with her children.
I think living on chill mode for a couple of decades helps.

What's crazy is she probably isn't the oldest person in the United States, there was this lady at my mom's job a few years ago (she works at a nursing home) and there was this lady who she was nursing who didn't have a birth certificate, so they would write their birthdays on a bible to keep track of their birthday, her date aligned with her being 118 years old, but because there was no birth certificate, no one could confirm it.
That's crazy! Me and my siblings learned recently that people used to do that.
I'm sure! People do have the ability to live a really long time. I think the general top cap is 120.
@@eveningclicks7767 There is someone who lived to 122 so that's not true. I heard that the max is 150
Back when my grandpa and his siblings were born they were all born at home so no record of the date of birth but everyday the milk truck would come and get the milk. They would talk to the driver and you know the husband would say my wife just had a baby today or yesterday you know small talk while the milk is pumping. And the drivers would keep tract of the babies date of birth. Which is really cool. And those days they had like 10-15 kids.

I have a degree in speech pathology. Her ability to quote a long passage she had memorized - Psalm 23 - is called automated speech. Lots of people who aren’t able to talk much are still able to do automated speech, such as quoting the Pledge of Allegiance, quoting song lyrics, listing the months of the year, saying the ABC’s, or quoting memorized Bible verses.

World oldest verified living person. Key word is "Verified". Many can't be verified becuase birth certificates were rare. There are more than likely people living that's even older than her.
@@OneYulaw ahh yeah true…there is apparently like an unverified 122 yr old in Peru, for example
Some of us are ordained to live long that we may witness and be able to explain things, and keep accurate records that may need eye witness account. God made some this way. Some stay awake all night and sleep during the day. These people are The Watchers.....it's an Honor to have been chosen by God as A Watcher.
@@OneYulaw Maybe, but anything above or around 120 should raise immediate suspicion
@@gpt-jcommentbot4759 Perhaps. However birth certificates were rare for that generation. 120 is definitely believable considering that 122 has been recorded as the oldest verified person. So there's a possibility that even 124, 125, 126 may very well be out there with no birth certificate.

I love that her problem with cigarettes isn't the smoke, not the lung problems, merely bad beath.
I like how they didn’t include her answer for “Are you glad you lived so long?” 😭
She probably said, “I’m excited to get up out of here” 😂 had a neighbor like that. He would tell us he was waiting to die when we asked how he was doing 😂
I had to watch this when I saw what year she was born in. My grandmother was born in 1910, but she unfortunately passed in 1986, just a few weeks before I turned 16. That was so hard for me… Growing up, I lived on a private drive with just 3 houses on it. My grandmother’s was the first, then mine and my great aunt’s (my grandmother’s sister) was last. Until the last few years of her life, my grandmother was a huge part of my life because she lived so close (until she went into a home and I had to wait until my mother or sister had time to visit her to drive me there). After she passed, I at least still had my great aunt, who I was also very close to. She was born in 1913 and died in 2002, so she at least saw me get married and got to meet one of my boys. He had just turned 2 before she passed, but I think she loved him more than my sister’s kids (she herself had never married). She doted on him so much, but he doesn’t remember… A few months after she passed, I got pregnant with my second son… I’m an atheist, so I don’t have a belief in the hereafter. But one day, quite recently, I made a trip to the cemetery. Stupid as I usually feel talking to the ground, I talked to my grandmother and my great aunt about my kids. It was more for me than them, I suppose. I just miss them… I’m told my youngest is a lot like the uncle that passed when I was only 3, the one that I was his favorite because I “marched to my own drummer”… He even looks like him. Makes you wonder sometimes…
This will blow up, thank you for your wisdom Naomi!
My great great grandmother just passed away on April 7th at 96 years old although she had asked for God to

God is with this woman. I think it’s likely the Holy Ghost reciting the 23rd Psalm through her.
I’d love to learn more about Ms. Naomi experiences as she navigated her way through decades of change and culture as not only a black person but as a woman. Truly amazing. From one black woman to another, thank you Ms. Whitehead. You’re an inspiration. ❤
Now she really is the oldest person in America at age 114, following the death of Elizabeth Francis.
bro hit 60 and was like "alright that's enough aging i'm good"
Great video Jack!!! Another banger!!!

“Subscribe if you’re younger than Naomi” nah dude, I’m 1,438 years old 😎 (I’m already subscribed)
She was born the same year my grandmother. She past away on my daughter's 7th birthday in 2006 at 95.
My great great great grandfather was born on 1910 and died at the age of 101 years old
When she gave that verse gave me chills
This Lady was 13 when my Grandmother was born in 1923. And she'll be 101 in October. It's amazing how older people lived through things we have to do research . And they remember it like it was yesterday.
Always cool the see the oldest living people, it's like they're on a challenge to be the oldest person in history. Naomi will secure that once she lives to 122.
