I love this kind of videos of someone just talking about the games they have or showing their collection display. Adding to that is your enthusiasm and I have a perfect cozy channel to follow. 🙂 (I also like your accent 😁)
Glad you're putting out new videos still! I wasn't planning to watch this all the way through, but you're voice is so soothing! I swear, 24 minutes of games just flew by! You've got yourself a decent sized collection there! 💜
Aw this is too kind, thank you so much! 🥹 Couldnt believe I missed Mario Wonder, somehow misplaced the case less than a month after getting it hahahaha 🫣
Was randomly recommended this and it was good watch! It's always cool seeing how people collect and these collection videos always get me, in meaning me wanting to buy more Switch titles lol Regardless, this was really enjoyable and your setup is so cool too! Great work :)
(1:19) I feel seen, as I too started out with an original grey Switch in late 2022 (after my sister bought a blue/red Switch OLED Model) before I got tired of it and switched to the OLED Model in mid 2023 when I was able to get a great deal on one that was only played once and the warranty had expired on. I wasn't sure if I actually wanted a games console again since I had a DSi back in the early to mid 2010s (I basically couldn't afford a 3DS at the time), but I came for the ideas of being able to play both on a TV at home and on the go using the same save data, and also being able to play ported versions of PC indie games on the go (Valve hardware aren't sold where I live, so Steam Deck isn't an option for me), and stayed for one main thing: Splatoon 3. It turns out that Splatoon 3 had introduced new gameplay elements to keep someone like me coming back, and compared to Splatoon 2, the motion controls had been significantly improved for those of us who play while in bed. No longer had we had to hold our controllers in uncomfortable positions as a likely result of the development team using Wii U GamePad motion control code from original Splatoon on Switch Joy-Con pairs in Splatoon 2. Besides Splatoon 3 and a number of other first-party games, I do play native Switch ports of PC indie games, including games that have 2D art styles made to look like animated TV programmes (notably 'Grindstone' and 'Lost in Play') and a number of others for which the list would go on. (1:37) (17:28) I didn't know that game was available on a physical game card! (I have the digital release on my eShop wishlist) (1:52) I actually had considered getting a Splatoon 3 edition Switch OLED Model, but after lots of decision-making and picturing myself having one, I decided to just get the regular white one. I didn't think I'd like the white colour option, but it started to grow on me, partially because of the updated version of Nintendo's official Switch case being colour matched to that, and also it being the Switch model and colour variant shown the most in their adverts. Sure, the white dock may look out of place in my loungeroom TV setup with its black TV and wooden furniture, but the colour mismatch doesn't bother me too much. (4:47) Yeah, that. I don't buy physical copies that include eShop download codes instead of game cards unless I wanted to spend a voucher or gift card. (7:31) Oh 😳 I have a copy of that too but hadn't played it in over a YEAR!! When I do play it, I have to play it in the loungeroom due to the lack of space in my bedroom. Yes, I have two Switch docks. (7:42) SPLATOON 3!!! 🐙 As I predicted, it overtook AC:NH to be the most played game on my Nintendo account, currently at 450+ hours. In the game, my character (a male Octoling with a moderate skin tone) is at level 48. I initially only played ink battles, but later started to get accustomed to the motion controls, started playing Salmon Run, and late last year, played through the story mode to prepare myself for Side Order. When I do get to play on my Switch, then when I'm at home, I usually end up playing Splatoon 3, but sometimes Splatoon 2, to the point where I'd even check SplatNet to see which stages were in rotation. Super Mario Odyssey and Luigi's Mansion 3 - I have physical copies of both games but haven't had the time to play them. At this point, I'm reminded of a couple of indie games where I had redeemed the games themselves but haven't yet redeemed the Kickstarter backer exclusive rewards!! (me to myself: 'Aaaahhhhh!!! Kevin!! Get to it when you can!!' 'I will! i will sort through my flagged Kickstarter e-mail messages one of these days and get those codes!') Yoshi's Crafted World, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land - I don't yet have copies of those games, but do have them on my eShop wishlist and have the demos downloaded but haven't played those. (TH-cam erased my comment draft at this point due to a bug in their mobile app and I only had a clipboard copy so some info is missing, including where I mentioned that I haven't yet redeemed codes for Kickstarter exclusive items for some of the indie games I have copies of) (10:17) I remember a TH-cam comment mentioning that "Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope" is like a third Super Mario Galaxy, and I could kind of see it when I played the demo but it's a different kind of game gameplay-wise. (11:03) I had heard about that game but can't remember why I skipped on it, maybe it was because of the reviews and/or the game being published by Merge, who in turn I believe were the ones who cheaped out by putting an eShop code instead of a game card in the case. As far as I know, some of these publishers do it on other console as a way to either cheap out or put a digital-only game on a physical shop shelf. When the Yoshi's Wooly World music came on in the background, I was reminded of how I wanted to get grey market European region Nintendo 3DS and Wii U consoles and games*, but never did as I couldn't afford those at the time. With the Switch, it's kind of region-free, so I was able to switch the region on my console purchased in Singapore from "The Americas" to "Australia / New Zealand". The only thing left is that games sold here as part of the Middle East and Southeast Asia system region use US cover art with English and Spanish text instead of the UK or Aus/NZ cover art which are English only, so I try to get imported physical copies just to have English-only covers, though I do make exceptions if I'm able to get good deals. *(as opposed to the Middle East and Southeast Asia system region receiving American content which had different localisations in that era and Wii Fit asking for Imperial measurements instead of Metric, as well as Yokai Watch localisation being better in Southeast Asia than the rest of the world but that not applying to the actual games) (12:51) I do remember that a number of game shops here in Singapore only sold the Switch at launch in a bundle that included that and Zelda BotW. (20:47) I mostly played Splatoon 2 as a way for me to take out my stress of my pre-ordered copy of Splatoon 3 arriving a few weeks late, and still play it but occasionally. (21:25) I do have both that and Brain Training for my Switch as I had earlier versions of those for my DSi. I do also have a copy of QuickSpot, but it's a Japanese copy that only has Japanese and Korean UIs available as the official English localisation is exclusive to the American Nintendo eShop and I didn't want to go to the trouble of creating a Canadian Nintendo account just to buy the game. As you might've guessed by now, I had an American DSi (instead of an Australian or European DSi) and set the country on that to Canada to access that country's DSi Shop back when it was still possible to buy games there. (21:50) The game does have assist stuff, and I particularly play with extended time and some of those other stuff when playing on my own, however I mostly play that with my sister when she comes over for holidays because the game's intentionally bad physics make her laugh. I do plan on getting a copy of Moving Out 2. (23:42) My comment had already gone long enough, but I could probably squeeze in some bits. - Splatoon 3 - (Already explained) - Grindstone - I was mostly drawn to this because of the art style, but stayed for the gameplay. The closest I can think of to describe the gameplay is that it's sort of like Bejeweled but crossed with Slay the Spire and featuring an art style that reminded me of late 2010s Cartoon Network original content. - Tetris Effect Connected - 🤩 - Lost in Play - I haven't played this yet but the art style really reminded me of "It's Pony". - A Tiny Sticker Tale - I haven't played this yet but I think I mentioned it because I haven't yet found the time to redeem the codes for the Kickstarter exclusive in-game items! (Edit: forgot to mention Poglings and Ratatan - both games haven't yet been released but I do want to play them. The former is sort of like a cosy pet game from what I could tell watching the trailer, inspired by the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure, and the latter is seemingly a spiritual successor to the Patapon series but by the developers in an indie studio instead of an SIE studio so they can release the game for a Nintendo system and handheld UMPCs, especially considering that there hasn't been a portable PlayStation system for some time)
