Ah, finally a non-gamer gamer!! After a long time of not playing games, I’m looking into the Switch OLED and am so glad to run into your video! Especially on the bundle part; was almost going to buy the case and screen protector separately. Looking forward for more :) Ps. “A short hike” is a cute chill/cozy game for under 10 bucks! Highly recommend you check that out 😁
Omg this is great! I'm nosy about other people's collections but also yay to recs! Ended up getting Townscaper because it sounds exactly like my type of game. Unpacking is one of the best games I played this year, absolutely fantastic!
About the pronunciation of "Gris". It's actually a Spanish word that means grey. The developers of the game are a Spanish team called Nomada Studio, so the title of the game is pronounced in Spanish (so the "s" at the end has a sound).
ahh that's good to know! i know a bit of french so i always just thought it was the french word, "gris" (which also means grey!) so thank you for letting me know!
Hades is one of my favourite games. It became one my comfort games. You die, you die a lot. But dieing never feels like a failure because there's also something new when you die: cut scenes, interactions between character, story elements. I love it.
Congrats on getting into a new hobby and sharing! From the things you say you liked you will love Persona 5. Not gonna lie I am kinda jealous that you are going to get to experience all that gaming has to offer now. There has truly never a better time. Good luck!
Woo!! Another Three Houses fan!!! I started with Blue Lions as well (it's still my favorite), but the other routes are fantastic in their own rights too! Great collection and video--can't wait to see more from you!!
I was going back and forth, trying to decide if I want a switch or keep saving for a gaming pc... This was a sign and made me realize that I'm not a pro gamer and a gaming pc would be a waste of money. I want to play cute games that aren't too difficult. So, you made me finally order a switch. 🤣It arrives on Monday and I honestly can't wait! 🤩
Omg yay Tammie I'm so excited about this channel!! Ni no Kuni is also one of the first games I got when I bought my switch but sadly I think i played under 5 hours of it. I don't know if it's that I never figured out how to properly use the camera controls but they gave me really bad motion sickness so I just gave up. I would gladly watch you play though!!
Thank youuu 🥰🥰 and noooo motion sickness is the WORST. There's some games that I can't play on handheld because I get motion sickness and first person games are also a no for me unfortunately 😭
So excited for gaming content from you! I really want to get Xenoblade Chronicles 3 but desperately need to play through some of the games in my backlog first 😅
Hey there Tammie. Well the algorithm seems to be working for you as your video popped up in my feed this morning, and I decided to chillout with it this evening while winding down before the New Year weekend insanity begins, lol. I've been playing video games since my parents took me to seaside arcades back in the 1970s (yes I'm that old) ... and it's always fun to see new gamers getting into the scene, whether it was my kids in the 1990s, my grandchildren 10 years ago or just the occasional video popping up like this one. Really enjoyed your video, and the breakdown of your gaming experiences thus far ... dont feel too bad about having a gaming backlog, it happens to all of us. I hope you get a chance to connect with Breath of the Wild, if you click with it it's an awesome game though quite different from previous Zelda titles. I've never been interested in Pokemon at all, but Arceus continues to catch my eye as a potential entry point to the franchise, so it's nice to see another positive experience. I've been gaming on the Switch for just under 3 years now (alongside other systems) and have really enjoyed the platform for it's handheld/docked functionality, and have just upgraded to an OLED ... I use it primarily for buying discounted digital games and have around 80 titles spanning free-to-play, discounted major 3rd party releases and a superb selection of indie games across a wide range of genres. Last purchase was Civilization VI just before Christmas, and as a New Year gift to myself I'm considering buying Portal Knights next week ... a Minecraft / RPG mash-up, a bit similar to Dragon Quest Builders 2 I believe, but considerably cheaper. Happy gaming ... and reading, and anything else you enjoy. Oh, and have a wonderful 2023, when it gets here, lol :-)
i definitely want to give breath of the wild another chance! and it sounds like you have a wonderful switch collection! i actually do have civ 6 as well, i don't know how i missed it in this video 😅 but it is so much fun and i hope you enjoy it! i haven't heard of portal knights before but it definitely sounds like something i need to look into based on what you've said. happy new year to you too 🥰
Great video!! I just bought a Switch and am so excited to try out some fun games 😍 I also wanted to mention that I am the type of gamer that doesn't like hard, super combat focused games ( I play everything on easy mode and make my husband battle bosses lol), but all that to say, Skyrim is one of my favorite games!! You can set the difficulty to Easy mode, and that really does make it more of an enjoyable game in my opinion, because you're not constantly having to worry about whether or not you're going to die!!! Plus you can basically just explore if that's all you wanna do. And sneaking in that game is so fun too because nobody can see you and therefore the combat is limited this way as well 😂 Anyway I hope you try it out and love it as much as I do!!
i think i had it on easy the first time around (i pretty much play everything on the easiest setting haha) but still really struggled, but one day i will try it again! thank you for watching
@libellulareading859 we are gaming twinsies hahaha I also avoid the badies and enlist the hubby😆 nice to know about skyrim bc I have been attracted to that game for so long but he is not but I knew for my lego game level brain style theere would be no way.. I just started breath of the wild in May bc I was so intimidated by that style of game, now im like BRING IT! BRING ME ALL THE GAMES! 😅
Yessss another gamer reader lol. The switch is awesome for visual novels. If you don't like pure visual novels (just pressing A to proceed), there are others with gameplay elements too, like AI the Somnium Files and the Ace Attorney trilogy, both of which often go on sale for less than $20 USD. But anyway, happy holidays and merry gaming 🎮
ooh thank you for the recommendations! i've had my eye on the ace attorney games for a while now so maybe i'll finally bite the bullet! happy holidays to you tooo 🥰
I agree with your comments about Skyrim. I should’ve known it wasn’t for me, but I keep hearing how cozy it can be 😩 I can’t even get out of the first scene with three dragon 😂
Nice collection Tammie. I don't judge you at all for owing games you haven't played yet. I'm in the same boat lol eventually I will play them all...eventually 17:25 cute cat 🐈
It happened, a gaming channel! Yay! Really love these collection videos because i am nosy about what other people are playing lmao Definitely feel you about the buying a bunch and not playing all of them, my switch pile of shame is in a constant fight with my tbr about who is more mad at me 😂 Regarding Dragon Quest, i have yet to play one in full, but to me it also felt rather more like... Juvenile? Then other JRPGs. Definitely prefer final fantasy a lot more! I also still need to go through like 2 story paths in three houses and Engage comes out in a month already!! What? Curious to see your thoughts on Persona 5 because i also got it for switch on sale because of the high praises. Loved the video, hope to see some more!
LOL 10000% my tbr and my switch pile of shame sit at the same table 😂 and YES totally agree that dragon quest builders just feels super juvenile, i feel like i might've liked it when i was a child but the humour is just not hitting for me now. i really want to try final fantasy but i have no idea where to start! and omg i KNOW i'm so excited for engage. thank you for watching!!
@@tammietriestogame Personally j would recommend either Final fantasy 9 or 10 as a starting point, since you have a switch. 7 is great but can feel very clunky, 8 has a very different combat system. I would say either 9 or 10 are great entry points, with the caveat that final fantasy 10 can get very repetitive with training towards the end!
Not coming from booktube! 🎮I love seeing "non-gamer gamer" people coming out of the woodwork. I've had my Switch for 3 years and I have sooooooo many unplayed games I bought on sale. It's an addiction...
That is quite the collection, lots of good stuff! If you are liking the Pokémon games you already have I think even without a patch you would like Pokémon scarlet and violet a lot, probably my games of the year. You could also try Pokémon let’s go pikachu/eevee and could probably get those pretty cheap.
it's so good to hear you've really loved scarlet and violet! i think i'll wait to get them secondhand but i definitely want to play them at some point!
I just discovered your channel and I feel like you're so me when it comes to gaming 💀 I've played a lot of the same things but since getting my switch I've been exploring new types of games and figuring out what I like. I started playing Hades recently and it's so much fun but kinda hard. If you get around to playing it definitely play with the sound on, the voice acting is pretty good and the music overall is enjoyable. I look forward to seeing more of your videos Tammie 🤎
Great video! Definitely play the other Xenoblade games if you liked 3 - and Persona 5 Royal is truly fantastic. I would recommend Dragon Quest XI: S if you are into JRPGs - it's very accessible. I also loved Brilliant Diamond so no worries on that! Let's Go Pikachu is a good time too! The Switch has literally everything so enjoy!!!
If you like reading, try out visual novels - mystery ones (The house in fata morgana) - romantic ones (called otome games). My favourite is Collar x Malice which is a romance, murder mystery game
