Making a song using only the Moog Grandmother synth

  • I decided to do a challenge where I make a song using only one synth (Moog Grandmother in this case). I have to use it for drums, basses, leads, pads, etc. I added some vocals at the end, but that's the only thing that isn't from the Grandmother. Stay tuned til the end to hear the final song. #onesynthchallenge

The GM is cool cause it has USB MIDI so it doubles as a MIDI controller too. But using hardware synths is definitely more time consuming. I spent a lot of time making new tracks, routing MIDI and tracking audio (which I edited out of the video). I work much faster with soft synths. But hardware synths are nice to add occasional layers here and there.

Hard agree. DAWless is something you do when you want to figure out how to use all those toys you GAS for. DAWs, on the other hand, are something you use when you want to make a song :)
