Okay, first of all Valla didn't disrupt the link between two existing blocks. She took the place of the last one, big difference as once the gate is assembled the same trick does not work. Second, Adria is not dead, she's locked in eternal combat with Morgan Le Fey. She's very much alive, just can't do anything but fight Morgan.
@yeah I'm John Assal She was sent to watch Merlin because the Others suspected he had retained knowledge he gained as an Ascended after he retook human form, which he did. Morgan also did destroy the weapon, which I believe she explicitly states. Daniel Jackson mentions that he felt like the Others knew about them rebuilding the weapon and putting it together. He said that he believed they probably knew the Ori were a threat and weren't going to stop the humans from doing their dirty work for them. You also need to remember that the Alterans highest tenet is "freedom of will". If Omah or Morgan willingly started a battle they knew would last for eternity, it is possible the Others wouldn't interfere. I also seriously doubt how much the Others really cared about Anubis or Adria by the time they were embattled. Anubis was only half-Ascended and was likely no actual threat to them. Adria lost the majority of her power thanks to the Ark of Truth which relegated her to a non-threat as well. The Others just never seemed to care about the Lower Plane at all when it wasn't potentially hurting them. It is possible though that some of the Others, the ones Morgan mentions to Daniel that also felt the Ori were a threat and wanted to help the humans fight them would step in to help out Morgan, but it didn't seem like any of the Others particularly like poor Omah. Even Merlin spoke of her as if she was occasionally entertaining but ultimately misguided. And finally, if you recall, it was Omah's mess to clean up anyway. She was the one who enabled him to ascend in the first place. Regardless, I appreciate your insight and thoughts. It's sadly pretty rare to be able to debate Stargate theories with someone who isn't myself.

I would love to see a new series of how they introduce to everyone on earth that "oh yeah and we have this thing called a stargate and stuff" and have they form a galactic or intergalactic government out of the loose alliance they have with the other factions...
Orodben they had a plan for that. Sg1 had two follow-up movies: The Ark of Truth and Continuum. A third, Revolution, was planned, and would have been about exactly that. SyFy channel pulled their funding for that film, and the follow-up Atlantis film, essentially cutting both series off short.
Ghost Nappa please just not netflix... I want a good show/movie not a show/movie that either is incredibly bad or mediocre story with good special effects. Look what they have done to Death Note and after I've seen Altered Carbon, I dont want Netflix to touch Stargate at all. But on the other hand if they're the only ones willing to make Stargate then why not.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. One of the most endearing aspects of Stargate was how Earth was socially and culturally identical to Earth IRL. As a result, there was a layer of relatability to Stargate characters you don't see in most other Future Fantasy franchises. Once you reveal the truth to the general populace, you ultimately wind up turning Stargate into a Future Fantasy re-skin of Star Trek.

How to keep unwanted visitors from sending dreadnaughts through your supergate: Using Asgard technology, project 3 parallel force beams from top to bottom of the gate, at 25%, 50%, and 75% of its width, at a distance of less than 5 micrometers from the event horizon. Not as encompassing as an iris or force field wall, but very effective vs. superlarge vehicles. Since travellers exit the gate at the same velocity as when they entered, and since anything obstructed at the event horizon fails to rematerialize, the inbound dreadnaught would be sliced like a brick of cheese into 4 easy pieces. Since the bridge is in the front center of the ship, and the control chair is in the center of the bridge, the Prior piloting the vessel would be eradicated upon arrival.
thats a good idea. Unless the shields of the ori protect it against the force beams. Kull Warriors were able to pass through the gate Shield on Tartarus because of their armor (although that one was likely not as close to the Event horizon), and the tollans used Phase shifting to walk through the Iris, as the rematerialized matter retains all of its properties. So if the ori ships shields are strong enough to pass through the force beams, they wouldnt be able to Prevent them from materializing.

if you think about it, they probably used two black holes, one at either end. Usually you only really need to power the outgoing side of a connection but the supergate in the milkyway was the incoming side.

yes, it's confirmed that it will be a reboot of the original movie and following movies will pick up from there and not where the shows left off. Also they said the reboot movie isn't coming together as they thought it would, I dont know what that means exactly, but it sounds bad. Just so you know this was said like 3-4 months ago Why cant they just make a new series, or a movie that picks up from after enemy at the gates, even without the older actors the universe of stargate in itself would be just awesome with new characters, I mean they did it with SGA, basically recreating the same cliche team that was in SG-1 with different actors I'm probably angrier about this than I am about the new star wars And the best thing is, that fan-fiction of stargate is ridiculous, it is filled with half completed stories because the writers dont have motivation or time, the internet is full of authors who would be happy if they could write stargate stories, but MGM does not let them sell anything stargate and related, and authors make their money from writing, so they rather do other things.
Personally, and I know this isn't a popular opinion, I was enjoying Stargate Universe. Every time I saw an old character it felt forced, the new characters stood on their own really well. To me it's proof that Stargate doesn't need the old characters. Same goes for Stargate Atlantis, except when Sam took over, I love Sam but it seemed a weird placement even though Daniel was the expert on Ancients, I mean he sort've became one. Problem is they've battled Fake God aliens, rabid machines, practically a god, and space vampires (Also gotta mention the underground Communists XD). Topping it off finally with an invasion of evil ancients from another galaxy with the power of gods, whos the next shows villain. They've made SGC powerful enough to beat ancients I can't think of an enemy that would add tension to the next show.

And for some reason, wormholes really suck at long distances and require much more energy. If you need a huge mothafuckin stargate to get from one galaxy to another imagine the gate needed to get from another part of universe to another.

Consider the following: _How wide a single galaxy is?_ _How far apart are galaxies?_ Even if we assume the function for the distance-to-energy required ratio is linear, the energy jump from travelling inside a galaxy to travelling to another galaxy is exponential. If anything wormholes are more efficient at longer ranges, otherwise it'd require more than one planet to dial Destiny.

actually what has been bugging me in the show for a while, is that if you step to a regular-sized stargate to exit from a large one, shouldn't you be "enlarged" ? assuming that the size of things is adjusted by the output gate, that would work, but what about the other way around ? like you have a ori ship enter the supergate, but you somehow try to output from the tiny makeshift gate that was in carte's basement, wtf happends ? 🤔
After they blocked off the Supergate I would have liked seeing SG1 have to deal with the 4 remaining motherships one by one. The first got blasted by the opening Supergate, the other three should have been picked off with some truly unconventional tactics.
Correct me if I'm wrong, sir. But it was not power from the Black Hole that allowed the Supergate (and Stargates in general) to remain open indefinitely, but rather the time dilation effect that the black hole has upon the gate, correct?
How did they harvest power from a black hole? As in how was the radiation actually captured. What kind of power are we talking about? How was the power transmitted to the gate?
I just realized that the plan to connect the super gate to that black hole in the Pegasus galaxy wasn’t a very good plan. What was stopping the ori from simply building another super gate and using the new one? Was it explained why they couldn’t or was it just something as simple as the writers hoped you wouldn’t notice that?
IJN Yamato yes they were eventually wiped out. But remember that for two seasons that blackhole linked gate was sitting there. Eh no real point debating this.

Stargate was fun, when it was just Stargate. When it turned into normal jumpgates, it got weird and boring. Also, TELNET wants their galactic modem back.
Did they ever explain in the Ark of Truth where the power to activate the supergate came from? All other times that was a big deal requiring black holes etc, but in that movie they just dialed it up.

The asgard ships that fought the ori ships didn't have beam weapons. The beam weapon was part of the newest asgard technology when they installed it on the daedalus ship.
You know it would be easier for a seedship to deploy one of these SuperGate at the edge of each Galaxy it enters making Destiny's jump to each Galaxy much more easier been spending 3 years in a void
Id really like to see what became of the former Ori worshipers. The Prior's still had their powers and this society that was formerly comprised of spread out religious medieval societies now, has access to highly advanced technology and made aware that most of their religion was BS. Either a new series or even a Mass Effect style game set a decade or 2 after SGU would be awesome to show what happened here, with the Jaffa and former Goauld worshipers.
Eventually humans are going to be so far spread out in space that we might not even recognize our home world. Also *spoilers* Earth isn’t even that homeworld, unless terrans are actually convergently evolved to alterrans. Also If humans are just modern day alterrans, why is there evidence of other human species? Were they just genetic offshoots in this timeline?
I always found it funny that Russia and China spend billions on their own 304's the korolev and Sun Tzu. Just to have both destroyed in the first battles they ever fought...
The situation with the Sun Tzu is actually quite interesting from a canon perspective. There are now two continuities after the series end, the novels and the comics, the novels say the ship is still heavily damaged and they're not sure if they can salvage it in the comics it already is repaired and is supporting the Daedalus together with the Apollo in the pegasus galaxy.

After they blocked off the Supergate I would have liked seeing SG1 have to deal with the 4 remaining motherships one by one. The first got blasted by the opening Supergate, the other three should have been picked off with some truly unconventional tactics.

Correct me if I'm wrong, sir. But it was not power from the Black Hole that allowed the Supergate (and Stargates in general) to remain open indefinitely, but rather the time dilation effect that the black hole has upon the gate, correct?

How did they harvest power from a black hole? As in how was the radiation actually captured. What kind of power are we talking about? How was the power transmitted to the gate?

I just realized that the plan to connect the super gate to that black hole in the Pegasus galaxy wasn’t a very good plan. What was stopping the ori from simply building another super gate and using the new one? Was it explained why they couldn’t or was it just something as simple as the writers hoped you wouldn’t notice that?
IJN Yamato yes they were eventually wiped out. But remember that for two seasons that blackhole linked gate was sitting there. Eh no real point debating this.

Stargate was fun, when it was just Stargate. When it turned into normal jumpgates, it got weird and boring. Also, TELNET wants their galactic modem back.

what i dont get is human ship retrofitted with asgard tech could take down an ori mother ship 1 on 1 and the asgard had multiple ships in that battle. shouldn't have the ori taken losses?
jordan rivard maybe it was new asgard tech cuz the beam weapons are probably the most overpowered ship weapon in scifi besides all have star wars superweapons.
The asgard ships that fought the ori ships didn't have beam weapons. The beam weapon was part of the newest asgard technology when they installed it on the daedalus ship.

You know it would be easier for a seedship to deploy one of these SuperGate at the edge of each Galaxy it enters making Destiny's jump to each Galaxy much more easier been spending 3 years in a void
Id really like to see what became of the former Ori worshipers. The Prior's still had their powers and this society that was formerly comprised of spread out religious medieval societies now, has access to highly advanced technology and made aware that most of their religion was BS.
Either a new series or even a Mass Effect style game set a decade or 2 after SGU would be awesome to show what happened here, with the Jaffa and former Goauld worshipers.

I always found it funny that Russia and China spend billions on their own 304's the korolev and Sun Tzu. Just to have both destroyed in the first battles they ever fought...
The Sun Tzu was crippled in the fight with the super-hive. There are no canon mentions of the ship being destroyed to my knowledge.
The situation with the Sun Tzu is actually quite interesting from a canon perspective. There are now two continuities after the series end, the novels and the comics, the novels say the ship is still heavily damaged and they're not sure if they can salvage it in the comics it already is repaired and is supporting the Daedalus together with the Apollo in the pegasus galaxy.
