- This is a great Cutting and Yelping sequence for a big ole Tennessee hen. This clip has a ton of calling to learn from and you get to see the hen in the context of the situation the whole way through. Featured calls are CUTTING OF EXCITED HEN/ CUTTING OF EXCITED HEN/AGGRESSIVE PURR

I’ve heard “don’t over call” all of my life... And I try not too. But I’ve learned over the last few years that sometimes being the most excited hen in the woods can do the trick.
That can be true in a lot of situations! Thanks for watching
IT ALL ABOUT TIMING WHEN TO CALL WHEN NOT TO CALL. THAT'S OVER CALLING.
You just gotta read the situation and know the turkeys habits, in some situations "over calling" could be a great ideas but In some situations it could really screw your hunt up. If you learn turkeys patterns, habits ect. Then you'll know the time and place.
@@yourfavoritgremlin if your telling me that turkeys are so predictable that you can read their minds so you know exactly how and when to call. Write a book a put on the list to buy the first copy. In my opinion calling turkey's is educated guess work at best. That's part of what makes hunting and fishing fun nothing works all the time. Like I said educated guess work at best!!!
@@DEVILDOG1964 woah ok calm down 💀 I'm not saying you can read their minds and your absolutely right sometimes even if you do everything right you'll still fail. But you can become better at calling if you learn turkeys habits and the longer you hunt the more you'll be able to do that, you can read the situation better and know what caused to do and when SOMETIMES! It's not always gonna work but it certainly could help.
Man what an awesome sound file! Thanks for sharing! Any hunter would be foolish not to soak that up!
Thanks! I agree. Enjoy the rest of the sounds files too! Good luck this season
That is some killer footage. Apologies to all the pro callers, but this is the best way to learn how to sound like a turkey
Talk about over calling! 😂 Great video and a GREAT tip to learn to sound like a turkey as opposed to a person trying to sound like a turkey. I swear, if I ever tried to do a calling sequence like that, I’d probably pass out- sounds exhausting 💀 thanks for sharing.
Good stuff!
Amazing how you can have a toms attention on the roost/fly down. Then the boss hen starts calling/cutting and pulls him away!!!
Exactly!
Beautiful "cutts" and such a nice throaty yelp! Great capture again Nathan! Lots to be learned from each of your segments.
i always wonder if guys utilize these videos or not. I've always liked listening to turkeys do their thing. Appreciate the comments
I’m just getting into turkey hunting and this is very helpful to see how a single bird varies it’s clucks, yelps, etc. There are sound file resources out there but are only for a couple seconds and it’s just one call so you can’t understand the full context.
@@figlermaert I agree. Hope you like the rest of the videos too!
Very good footage and audio; adding this to my calling forte
I don't have enough experience to have a repotoire or a forte to add to.
Thanks hope you enjoy the others as well
Damn that hen came In and even stood for your decoy she was like breed my assssss
I've never heard an Alabama hen call that much. Amazing
Same. I was going to make the same comment, but for Idaho. Great video. I'm using this to practice my calls!
Me either never
Very educational. Thanks for posting this.
thanks!
Outstanding video. It cannot be done any better.
Thanks for the compliment! Good luck this season
NICE VIDEO UR QUALITY IS EXCELLENT
This is one great video!
Thanks!
Good stuff Nathan! Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
WOW, that was amazing! Thanks for sharing, sure learned from it!
Thanks. Good luck this season
@@nathanwilt8053 same too U!
love this .. totally new to turkey hunting..looking for how often and how long to call....this helps..
sometimes calling is needed and sometimes just being quiet is needed. Glad you liked the video!
Also, Cornell has a great library of birds sounds for your pleasure and enjoyment. Feel free to nerd out. 🤓
You will notice she didn’t get the Tom. She made the amateur mistake of over calling.
😄 LOL
This is also just a 5 minute video, we have no idea what happened afterwards.
Had one talking like that here in Ohio on public land. I wish I had a camera. We were about twenty yards apart for well over 30 minutes. She did much the same as this bird. I was hoping it would attract a gobbler, but no such luck.
Good stuff!
Great Footage Braddah! 😎🤙🏾
Very cool
This video is just what I needed to base a calling sequence off of! Great video. I’m in east TN. Where was this video shot?
Thanks glad you liked it. This is a east TN bird about 30 mins from Greenfield. Theres another in this series that's a TN bird from around Nashville. Good sounding bird also
Killer footage
Thanks!
But where is the Tom? Not even a gobble in the distance?
