I just unscrewed the hook/clamp off the spring compressor inserted it into the best spot on the spring and screwed the compressor back together and it compressed fine
bought this truck a month ago gonna do the same thing you did i have a prerunner tho jsut gotta switch out everything you have gotten and some leaf springs
Just a heads up, from my understanding the longer shock is meant to be mounted on the driver side to account for added weight while operating. Under normal circumstances there will always be an extra 100-200lbs of weight on the driver side while operating, thus why the longer shock is used on the driver side. Not a professional tho, just my understanding.
Head to wheelers Offroad and plug in your truck details. You should find them there. Same place I ordered from. The first gens came in different versions so best to plug your trucks into in specifically
How does the front end feel?? Harsh? The 880 spring is supposed to be set at the lowest setting on the 5100. It’s a lot of preload on the upper clips. Just curious how it rides.
Honestly rides like a dream, but my old shocks were totally shot so just about anything would have been better. I’ll be curious how it does once I add a tube bumper and winch up front. Will keep everyone posted!

I tried that as well on mine but could not get them to fit through without grinding it down. Glad you got sorted easier than I did!

Thank you!
I put the same shocks bilstien 5100 on my tacoma 2004 and I'm always having issues with my breaks and rotors wearing out quick and a bouncy ride
What springs are you running?
Nice looking rig. A couple questions, 1) what brand of spring compressor is that? 2) what OME # are the coils?
OME 881 and the compressor was a rental from advance auto.
Need part numbers for the front shocks/springs too.

What springs did u use for the 3inch lift?
Did you have to upgrade your UCA ?
I did not have to but I have since upgraded to JBA UCAs
Why does the longer one go on the passenger side
The mounts on the rear axle are in different spots so they need to be different sizes I suppose.
Did you sell the shock?
Still have them
How much shipped to WA state?
I’d be interested in those rear shocks too
How much offset on the wheels?
NeweHey just seen nevermind how are you liking this lioft sop far
So far I love it! Flexy enough and not too stiff when street driving
Where’s this place located ?
