Every Room is a different size: as if you would randomize how many tiles does the room have It could be fun because you can have a 24 tile bathroom and a 4 tile kitchen you know?
My unpopular opinion is that I dislike when people say “well we don’t need a pack/update for that cause we have mods” cause as a console player I can’t download mods or cc so I feel like EA needs to put in more work and other people making good mods doesn’t excuse EA’s failures to.
I play PC but I don't like using mods 'cause they always need updating, and my opinion is that the Sims should just be giving players what we want instead of the modders!
I agree. I think some people tend to forget that not everyone uses our can use them. I don't even think some players know what the actually EA/Maxis provided Sims experience is like without mods or cc.
I'm going to be crucified upside down for this but *I think expecting mods to do the work for maxis is dumb but also expecting maxis to really care about ports is also a lost cause because it seems EA doesn't really give a crap about them and the reality of adding new features that work across all ports is really tough so combine those two and I don't think we'll ever get mods on console or anything that good at all*
I wish we had small things like sims cuddling when sleeping together with their partner, public/private school option and the option to sneak out at night and be caught by police for teens! And clothes shopping - like actually having to afford clothes if you want a new outfit. Those were things I really liked in TS2 (apart from the obvious things like being able to create your own worlds and place lots wherever the fuck you want)
I just want prom 😩 I grew up in London and we didn’t have a prom in the American sense but leaving school was a big deal and I feel like that’s not reflected in the sims at all!!
I like the concept of clothes shopping but I hated how sometimes you were stuck with an ugly default outfit UNTIL you could buy ones because sometimes I just wanted to dress up my characters in the sims to play them and I’d have to take extra time to cheat money then buy something. Everything else I totally agree on! The cuddling was in the old games so they should just do what Jesse said and use the old animations in an update or something.
There is a mod on thepancake1 and MizoreYukii pateron which re-adds cuddling to the game. I use it in my game, definitely a necessity! Just wish it was in the basegame though.
Honestly my biggest problem with The Sims 4 is the amount of bugs that just go unresolved. I've been watching James Turner's playthroughs of Dream Home Decorator and Cottage Living and it's just bug after bug after bug. And even minor things that don't seem like bugs, but probably are, like getting second place in a fair where you were the only competitor. It really makes the gameplay frustrating, and that's why I just build.
Yeah, there are bugs that are almost infuriating. 1. Lipstick/ eyeshadow changes everytime you change something else. 2. Lipstick/ eyeshadow shades aren't correctly displayed 3. When creating a new household and going to bb you can't change between different floors and can't hide / pull up walls. It's annoying. I don't want to close my game everytime I create a new household and dare to build/ remodel a house for them. Edit: The fact that they resolved the issue with the slopes in snowy escape over six months after release. I haven't played with Snowy escape since December, because it annoyed me that I couldn't solve the aspiration objectives.
Ive had so many dream home decorator pack issues, the first 2 times I used the career I could not pass the first house no matter how perfectly I did it for the client and how much they loved it, I had to cheat a promotion to get past it and then had no issues nailing the renovations. And now the career doesn't work at all lol anyone I make a home decorator they're just constantly on a day off I can't pick any renovations or anything it just says day off! Continually until I change careers so I dunno. Even when I removed my few mods it didn't change so I guess I just can't have that career? It's pretty shit considering the cost.
i KINDA wish we could choose which decade our gameplay was set in, like "Oh I wanna play in the 90's because I'm a nostalgic BITCH" so my sims wouldnt have a cellphone or play video games all the time and whatever. Idk weird idea. But does that make sense?
Personally I disagree as teens in real life are the same height as adults, but I do think that they need to be improved. I just personally would not want the height to change just gameplay and maybe clothing.
@@kenz392 Not really 13 year olds are usually shorter though I understand maybe 16 to 18 year olds. I think its just handy from a gameplay perspective cause you can easily tell who's a teen or not. It's kinda weird when you try to get your sim to flirt with someone and then realise they're a teen cause they basically look the same
@@thejazzy6012 I only gained 4 more inches in height after age 11, so I have to disagree with you there. And they can't have only some get taller like adults, etc. IRL, it's not that easy to tell when someone is a teen. Some teens look like 20-somethings, some people in their 20's look 15.
@@ShadoeLandman that's why I like the sims 3 they're slightly shorter then adults and taller then children so they actually look like an in-between stage. Yes some people don't grow or grow a lot but we don't have height sliders yet. Boys espiecally have a growth spurt in their teens, it's part of puberty. I think it would be fun to have some people grow tall and some not but until we have that from a gameplay perspective of a game replicating real life it makes more sense for teens to be slightly shorter then adults to represent the difference. You gain height when you become a teen maybe a little maybe a lot but to have a sudden jump from child to adult height just seems weird to me
Agree %100. The teens are basically adults in all but name. It’s really irritating as a family player because the different stages don’t feel special or like there is any progression.
So I've just realised I don't actually mind the reusing of animations as much as I thought I did. What I hate is the lack of different outcomes that may or may not be tied to different animations. For example skiing, snowboarding etc, would be more fun to do with different sims if there were more things that could happen to you as a result of doing it: eg sometimes you could get mildly hurt with a bruised foot and not be able to ski for a few hours, if you fell. Sometimes you could get a more serious injury like a broken leg or arm and have to go to the rabbithole hospital and come back with a cast for a sim week. Sometimes you could just find out that your sim is actually a scaredy cat ( has a new gameplay trait) who refuses to go on anything higher than the bunny slope no matter how many times you send them down the slopes. Sometimes you could find out your sim is naturally gifted at skiing and so you advance much quicker through the skills and could get a random chance card to compete in the Simlympics mini game or unlock a new aspiration like world famous skiier or something. For me lack of depth really means lack of different outcomes. Depth and different outcomes are things the Sims 3 had in spades that the Sims 4 lacks.
totally agree. it would be cool to have each action have different outcomes, like you said in your example with snowboarding. i also don’t really care about reusing animations because i actually never noticed it. i only realized it after many people were complaining about animations, but out of the many things that i find wrong with the game, the reusing of animations are on the bottom of the list for me.
And by that I mean spend time, money and effort on fixing the problems that make some sims 4 packs almost unplayable (e.g dine out, dream home decorator) rather than churning out more games and packs to rinse people lol. I was pleasantly surprised to hear of the pack refresh and hope they refresh a few more packs in future
@@zoeillingworth what about the whole base of the game and AI that is lackluster and can't be fixed? We have the dumbest Sims in 4 next to TS1 Sims. We have the easiest most surface level gameplay. Almost everything is broken down to it's most surface level functionality. Family play is very lacking. I have many mods to fix those things, but Modders can only go so far, with what EA gave us.
@@12wer3wer9 I do agree there are issues in the base game itself that can’t be fixed, but whilst there are issues in the game that can be rectified I think they should be resolved before releasing more content
I've never heard the expression "I would rather shit in my hands and clap" before but it made me laugh my arse off and I'm now going to use it every chance I get
It's a leveller also. It doesn't matter what language you translate it to, or what class you have been brought up in. You hear that expression and you know what's going on.
I just want more things to go wrong in the sims 4. Like remember how sims would randomly die in sims 3? Or how sims would go through a midlife crisis and want to divorce their spouse for no reason? I miss that stuff. It's a little dry to have to come up with all the negative things myself and force my sims into it. I want them to mess up, even if they're not the evil sims.
YES, sims 4 just feels like a sandbox game to me and it's boring af xD Real life is random and I want my sims to have a random life as well. I want things to go wrong, I want them to struggle sometimes, not because I made them struggle, but because the game does. I don't like playing god, I like roleplaying all my characters.
@@cbjgirl23 Well, one of my sims once got hit by an asteroid and died to it. She was studying to become an astronaut too and because she died at university, I coudn't put her gravestone in the vegetable garden with the other gravestones :( I was so upset about it, I almost wrote a whole ass theatre play about it. I've never been that invested in any sims 4 family xD
That, right there. I want them to mess up socially. I am not sure why they even give us the option to choose their social behavior in the traits since it and the trait system makes it all so expected and boring.
I agree! Things just go too smoothly in the sims 4. I don't mind having my sims dying unexpectedly because of my distraction (I swear that in sims 4 not one of my sims have died by accident, they all die by old age. I managed to kill a few just through the cowplant and sunlight if they were vampires) or having them losing their job because I made them do the wrong thing at work. Nothing bad and unexpected happens in my game, I don't know if it's just my problem honestly
I miss the cheekiness and chaos of Sims 1 and 2. Genies, strippers, teenagers sneaking out after hours (Sims 2), woohoo bed… it was just so much sillier and more fun! Also I remember I was so used to rotational gameplay I was so upset when I first saw in Sims 3 that my family had aged up when I was playing with another family. I’m trying to actually build a family tree for the first time ever in Sims 4 but long legacies have never been my thing at all!
Fully agree with this! Rotational gameplay is the biggest thing I still haven’t adjusted to with ts4. I pretty much jumped straight from ts2. It’s frustrating that I can’t put all of my families in one world/neighborhood/save file because as soon as I want to play with another one my prior family continues aging and moving around in-game. Ts2 really had a better structure for playing multiple families.
@@Savvy1718 You can turn off aging for townies and just age up your household at least, but I agree that sims 2 definitely had better structure for families.
Although Im not a fan of occult in sims, I do miss the chaos in earlier versions. I want to have fun but these days the game is leaning more towards realistic gameplay. This probably steams from more players wanting the realistic side, which I thought was very ironic because it’s a game. 💀
I also, like the other replier, came straight from Sims 2 and the things like sneaking put and letting your teenager or whatever buy their first phone... and the emphasis on first time dating, made the game all that more fun.
im also trying to do legacy loll im one of those players who are constantly making new sims and playing until i get bored, then making a new one , so legacy is really difficult but to satisfy myself ive been kicking out alla the people who came in the neighbourhoods originally and replacing them with ocs :3
My unpopular opinion is that the Base Game clothing and hair meshes ALL need to be revisited. I'm so glad they are doing that with the black hairstyles, but i also think they should do it with the rest because some of the clothing is just not it.
This shouldn’t be an unpopular opinion. I can’t imagine trying to play ts4 base game without nice hairs or clothes or furniture. The game just looks horrible.
I wish they kept some of the hairs they updated and added them as new hairs instead. I had a sim with one of the hairs that was updated and it just looked wrong and i had to change it
I dont know how easy this would be, but I wish men's clothes on a feminine body didn't squish her boobs and female clothes on a masculine body didn't add boobs. There are some tops that look better on women, and men should be able to browse the women's clothes without a mandatory push up bra. Also there's a "masculine" tank top in Strangerville that definitely should've been tagged as feminine but it's labeled as masculine. I don't know of ANY straight, gender-conforming men who would wear that shirt in any situation.
I think my biggest unpopular opinion (it seems) is I don’t want the sims 5. I have every expectation in the world it will be the worst in the franchise. EA has learned they can nickle and dime us.
I share your unpopular opinion that I don’t want Sims 5. At least not right now. I’ve invested a lot of time and money in Sims 4 and I would like it to be fixed first. I really don’t wanna have to start over with a bass game and wait years for the things we just now have.
@@asideofpickles574 No, by not releasing a new game they could make The Sims 4 better and actually improve the game by adding things the community and fans want! But Sims 5 is speculated to have multiplayer, so expect it to be full of microtransactions and incomplete.
I agree. That’s why I only play the sims up to sims 3. Sims 4 was/is high way robbery and the sims 5 I expect the same. Paralives is looking like a good contender against EA, maybe some competition will encourage EA to make better quality games. Because obviously, they don’t care about what sim fans have to say so long as y’all keep buying their games.
It makes me highly uncomfortable when people point out how much the whole game costs. 😅 I did get some of the packs in bundles, some on sale, and I split some of the pack prices with my mom but I also don’t like to think about how much money I’ve spent on this game. (I don’t have two of the kits but I have everything else.)
same here, and I'm Brazilian and everything is even more expensive here. most brazilian people pirate the game tbh. i don't like to think about how much I've spent lol. but it's been my savior during quarantine sooooo i guess if it fills my days and makes me happy (even with its problems) than i guess it's not so bad.
Oh same. I just pretend ✨I do not see it✨ when I think about how much I’ve spent. I literally only get the game on sale, in bundles, etc. (except for Cats and Dogs? I think? And I actually want the bonus stuff in Cottage Living so I might pay full for that too) but I still can’t bring myself to add how much I’ve spent all together 😬 Not to mention it wouldn’t run on my laptop after a certain point so I spent… a lot of money on a gaming computer (not just for the Sims, for other games too, but I would be lying if I said Sims wasn’t the main contributor for needing it) But I love the packs I bought and I justify it by thinking, “If I didn’t spend $40 on this bundle then I’d be spending it on eating out twice. I get to use this over and over whereas food will only fill me once”. TERRIBLE justification but it’s what gets me through 😅 Many of these packs could have been combined IMO. And I could probably find similar items for the bonus stuff for cottage living in CC but I hate having to remember bonus stuff every. single. update. My computer has this glitch where it automatically updates origin/Sims (even when I turn the feature off), so I’d probably lose my content every time before I even got the chance to update. It’s easier to just buy them. That being said though, I’m upset that they are only offering exclusive content for certain times in the game or spending $40 instead of $20 you literally get 3 things. They need to make all content available all the time, so that people who might not have the money and/or access to the game during these times can still get the same opportunities later down the road. They did the bonus stuff because I’m sure they’re barely getting any sales at new release and lots when the Sims goes on sale, but it makes me upset that they’re kind of “scamming” in a way to get people to play/pay when they want them to. Sorry that is a super super long response. I’m just EXTREMELY passionate about this^
I love the idea of Laundry Day. I like doing that sort of gameplay. My only problem with Laundry Day is the moodlets that come from the laundry. Most of them are fine, if somewhat annoying, but I don't want to become playful because my clean laundry is "warm". It's unrealistic and ridiculous.
Moodlets are just poorly implemented in general, they make the Sims 4 just not make sense. I felt my sims 3 sims had more feelings despite not technically having emotions.
@@paradoxmo I miss how the negative moodlets would stack in sims 3. Uncomfortable moodlets should boost sad or angry moodlets in TS4 like happy moodlets do for positive moodlets. If I’m feeling uncomfortable, hungry, or in pain, it’s gonna take a lot less to make me angry or start crying, than when I’m not.
I have to say one thing i miss so much from TS3 is sims being able to slow dance together. Such a small aspect of gameplay but it was so adorable and fun to do!
Dance together in general. I do like group dances, and you can dance "with" someone by dancing beside them, but previously even regular dancing could be a couple activity, with sims being turned toward each other and such, if I remember correctly.
Sims 2 had classic dance with couples too. I really don't understand why this hasn't been incorporated into sims 4 but then I feel like everything is Sims 4 is disconnected. Stargaze/cloud watch is side by side not where as in Sims 2 it was a romantic interaction in each others arms. Sims in beds. Even the friendly group activities don't raise friendship, it's like they're doing it on their own.
Thanks beetch 😘♥ I agree with your point though! I'd love for the realistic gameplay already in place to be more in depth - but Sims 4 can I just........livemytwilightwerewolflovetrianglefantasy.....maybe?
Unpopular Opinion: If I'm paying for the Sims I'm allowed to have Opinions on it, I'm allowed to say I hate it or EA isn't doing enough with it. I say this because some other simmers will be get mad and be like then don't play the game 🙄
I think if you're actively playing it your more entitled to complain since you see first hand the stuff that need to be fixed and are invested in it. Just mo
That's valid. I think a lot of the Sims community, too, lump all "negative" or "positive" opinions underneath one umbrella and then treat every one the same.
I think the main thing with sims 4 costs (well at least for me) is that unlike ts2 and ts3 in which we didn't have to buy a lot of things to have a nice gameplay (when I first got sims 3 I played with like base game and two eps), the sims 4 is really awful in terms of gameplay, so people kinda have to spend more money to have something decent and similar to their previous experiences... Anyways ts4 with all expansions is around 3.5k where I live (Brazil) and it really makes me not want to move a finger for EA - also, I feel like it's important to include third world countries in the discussion, because I always see so many (mainly) americans trying to justify this price and saying things like oh just save money!! or false equivalences and I really feel like they don't have a clue of how expensive these things are for us, and how hard it can be to save this sort of money depending on your class
Yeah, dlcs are so expensive! I'd rather spend my earnings buying 5 full fleshed out games on sale on steam for a total price a sims 4 dlc is. I'm mexican btw.
it really sucks that they dont put much thought in the international prices and dont care that what may be affordable to the us based players is a whole different cost for others
Windenburg’s lots are BEAUTIFUL and i really only build so i love building cottages there. I think the gameplay aspects could have been more polished (like really only seven sims in a club?) but the world is incredible. and between windenburg and henford and bagley i LOVE maxis’s countryside worlds
I remember my father hating it, because he was used to us playing the sims 1, which had AMAZING music. The sims 2 music is more video-gamey and my father likes classical music more xD
I don’t know if this is an opinion or just a fact but the sims 4 has horribly dressed townies, even without CC. There’s no system/rule for which items go together (other than weather restrictions I guess??) Edit: spelling
Dg5791 but they be wearing the dumbesstttt outfit combos, all of them! If they at least had different styles that townies could wear, it would make them more unique.
@@Dg-jj7ir I get that but not everyone irl is an eccentric dresser and in sims basically everyone is wearing a weird, eccentric outfit. I wouldn’t mind it as much if there were just a handful of *weird looking* sims but it’s almost every sim that isn’t in an active household :
it genuinely hurts my heart that i cant change how npcs are dressed.... ill be hanging out with all the sims in the neighbourhood that ive dressed to the nines, and then random sims i have no control over come along looking straight off the 2004 red carpet 😞
I think my main unpopular opinion is that Seasons really shouldn't be a pack. Seasons should be an update. It honestly makes sense for EA-Maxis from a finacianal point of view, with 4 gamepacks improving a specific season instead of having packs that basically require an EP to be more feasible. As for something that I feel is not popular but also not super unpopular, Sims 4 needs an occult & Alien switch like sims 3 did. For those who want to play more realistic/mundane, it'd be perfect
I do love the idea of 4 different packs for the seasons ( and basic seasons on the game) imagine summer you get surfing, lifeguard, shell picking a beach town! Water park stuff for your house? It would be pretty cool
There are many reasons NOT to want seasons in your game, so I don't see them putting it in base game either to only have people throw fits about the negative effects or do all that extra work just to give people the option to disable it.
I hard agree with that last comment. I struggle with depression and anxiety issues, and being able to play a game where I can live a relatively normal life and have the opportunity to see beauty and life in ways that I struggle to irl is therapeutic. I can go months between playing the sims, but I always come back to the sims during the lowest periods of my struggle with mental health. Yeah, the game isn't perfect and could use some work, but I'm okay with that. It's an escape from not just the real world, but myself and my own mind.
I didn't even realise that cafés are exclusive to get together, I've had these packs for so long I don't even think I realise what isn't part of base game anymore
This biggest issue with MFP stuff is it comes with pet clothes and furniture (cat tree, beds for dogs) but doesn't come with cats or dogs in the pack. Period. If it looks super duper similar to another pack, whatever. But you CANNOT use half the pack without Cats and Dogs and that is the absolute biggest reason why it should have been included in the expansion pack
yes exactly. if the pack was all about small pets (and made them more interesting than some object) then i could squint and say its fine i'll ignore the obvious matching set pieces to cats and dogs
I want the game to be harder. Discover university is probably the only pack with actual difficulty in it, it is hard to get good grades. People complained about that and mods were made to make it easier, but I love that. The sims 4 is otherwise too easy, like its impossible to get electrocuted and whatnot, cause everytime something is ”deadly” its always the first time around a moodlet that tells you not to do it again cause in that case you would die, so its easy to just dont make your sim repair the tv for 3 hours until the moodlet is gone. I want my sim to be able to die the first time they get electrocuted. Further with difficulty I also mean other consequences than death. LITERALLY almost impossible to get fired from a job unless you force your sim to stay home for a week, even the chance cards tell you the outcomes so you know what to not click to get the best outcome everytime.
I have a mod installed that requires you to get a degree to get past certain levels of careers, which is fun. DU isn't hard (imo) unless your sim is also working full-time at the same time and struggling to pay the bills.
@@Sugary-Stardust i guess I’m comparing it to sims 2 and 3. I always had the grades maxed in those game and still had time for other things, but sims 4 I’ve failed subjects even after studying for them.. not sure if this is a bug or if its just cause my sim is stupid and needed more time but still
@@Sugary-Stardust DU is hard for people who don’t enjoying playing it to just make their sims study 24/7 In sims 3 my sims could go to a kegger and spray paint the entire campus, and still be able to study in time for class the next day In the sims 4 I’ll struggle with my one sim trying to keep their needs up while constantly sending them to study only for it to barely be enough before I have to send them off to class On top of that you have to do the stupid paper/presentation thing that you physically have to make your sim hand in and if you end up forgetting that before the semester ends you basically fail the class But even if you start those on day one you get too distracted by the daily studying it gets overwhelming and also boring cause your sim can’t do anything else cause if you don’t complete the homework it brings your grade down so much even if you had it mostly completed Literally the only way I can play it is if I have two sims attending together so I can get the degree I want as one and actually enjoy some gameplay as the other Like your sim is supposed to be able to do sport activities and go to parties and build robots on top of the studying but there’s never any time for that unless it’s between semesters
Active careers are one of the few places Sims 4 improved on it. I like active careers for roleplay purposes, but they were so buggy in Sims 3 and needed constant babysitting. Sims 4 isn't a lot less buggy, but you spend a lot less of the workday traveling and having the option to treat it like a rabbithole career for a day is an absolute necessity.
@@Springerror But I’m pretty sure that for most of them, in order to get promoted you have to go sometimes, to get tasks done (eg. Treat 2 patients at hospital to get a promotion in the Doctor career)
I love the scientist (science?--whatever it's called) career. Making sim rays and other gadgets, ordering co-workers around, etc. And it's the only reasonable way to complete some of the collections, like elements, metals, and crystals. Hive mind is so devious.
"i want the sims to be less realistic" zombies, werewolves, aliens, vampires, fairies, robots, ghosts, mermaids, bonehilda, the grim reaper and the mother: 👁️👄👁️
@@hcs5898 while I actually despise the wackiness. I don’t play the sims to “play the sims” per se. I never make sims for the sake of making sims, I play to tell stories. 90% of my sims are characters I made up and have in stories that I actually want to write or are characters from other things that I love. I don’t want to social bunny showing up when my sim that’s meant to be Bruce Wayne hasn’t spoken to anyone days.
Unpopular sims opinion: There is no "best" or "worst" sims game, the franchise is pretty inconsistent in its appeal and target audience, each of the games can appeal differently to different playing styles. Some people want a detailed realistic experience, some people want something streamlined and relaxing. Some people want chaos and gameplay objectives, some people prefer freedom and aesthetic. People who have different play styles should stop arguing over surface superiority of one title over the other.
And the consistency is occults and wackiness, but I think the sims audience has grown so much and changed to the point that more realistic and “pretty” aesthetics are more important than before. EA is targeting children more, but less children are playing. Early twenties is the biggest demographic.
This is really interesting actually, because I was on sims 3 Tumblrs yesterday and realized the massive difference in gameplay styles people had vs. sims 4 gameplay styles. Sims 3 players almost like, LIVE in their games. Like, it's like a real breathing family for them and they all are realistic and have lore etc. And then sims 4 players seem a little more focused towards specific aesthetics, or themed gameplay. Neither are bad or superior, but feel really different. I've personally played both games and like both games, and tried out different styles. To each their own!
I loved the first and second games, but sims 3 never sucked me in like they did. Sims 4 is as close as I've come to that real "Oh where did the last three hours go?" gaming since 2. If I could get 2 to play nice with my PC I'd still be playing it.
@@Frogglin I’ve never heard anyone compare sims 4 to sims 2 in a positive way so that sure is interesting. To me both games are vastly different other that the loading screens and lack of lag in TS3. I get bored of TS4 very quickly but I continue to always enjoy 2 +3 for the pure reason of chaos and fun. Sims 4 just isn’t exciting or fun, nothing really happens unless you make it or add mods
Unpopular opinion: Strangerville pack is actually one of the better packs and doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. The fact that it has a little like story mode to play with bunch of things to discover about that town is something new and unique for the sims 4. The town also looks really cool.
I think it’s a good pack overall but for me, it’s become one of those things I’ve played through once and haven’t touched since. I prefer game packs that affect my game play in all worlds, but that’s just my opinion I suppose
The Sims 2 "stories" packs were really cool. But I think strangerville gets a lot of hate because of the ending boss/alien. It was supposed to be Bella and it turned out to be... a plant that went to the gym
@@Aiya876 yeah I had a problem with my sims getting attacked by vlad all the time but I haven’t had any issues since the added the feature to keep them off your lot so that solved it for me
The one thing about TS3 seasons is that the game play really dives into the atmosphere with the addition of festivals. In winter it feels like winter with winter activities. in TS4 the atmosphere just isn't there except on your home lot which takes away from the experience the rest is just set dressing.
I know these numbers are small but it took awhile for me to get S4. I had it for about 2 years before I bought my first game pack (Parenthood). Didn't really keep me playing. I then got City Living for the world and got bored of that too. Recently got Cats & Dogs and I enjoy it a bit more than Parenthood and City Living but it's still missing something. I'm considering getting Island Living or Cottage Living just for something more to do.
yeah look its interesting when I started t*rrenting the games was the first time I'd played with every pack as well and I remember being so pleasantly surprised by sims 3 packs I never would have bought but ended up really enjoying, into the future being one of them. The experience was the opposite for sims 4 lmao like 'oh.. thats it? I was supposed to pay thirty bucks for this?' now I don't even touch sims 4 even with every pack. $700 is a fortnights rent for me, I can't fathom it.
i recently did that, and EVEN with all the packs there is no way it is even worth $300, i still have to rely on mods to make the game fun, and it upsests me that people actually spend all that money considering how mediocre the packs are. i play with a pack once and im just like oh well that was kinda cool, but im never gonna play with it again.
My immediate thought: "Your rent is really high ono" Then I realised the last past ten years happened... Now that I'm here though x'D I had almost every TS1- and every TS2 expansion, because at the time of 1 my dad was rich and at the time of 2 he had also _abandoned me_ and tried to make up with money. TS1 got a bit... cluttered, honestly, with all packs. TS2 was good with all the packs, but _also_ great *without* them. Which is a reason why it's my favourite. TS3 already came out too unfinished for me. No memory system and things just felt too fleeting... So I pirated for its lifespan (also cause I was broke). I didn't like the sim designs, didn't like the graphics direction. Everything was just a bit off to me. I was actually GONNA buy TS3 (I always try to vote with my wallet) ... But then The Sims 4 came out and- that base game, especially on release, is such a practical joke that I doubled down on my EA boycott. I've played TS4 to make sims, a few times houses. Zero gameplay interest. Every pack I try again but only play for a few hours - because that's the extent of the new content. Now I've got TS2 installed again and I actually play The Sims regularly x'D
@@severnivitrjekruty58 no need to censor torrenting one day people will be caught anyway game companies download torrents and track down who is also downloading them so that they can sue them
Sims 4 has the ugliest genetic inheritance rather than ugliest Sims I think… Like I gave up on legacies in that game because of always having to edit the Sims genes when the parents looked fine :/
AHHHH WAIT. Fully agree with it being very hard to go back and play Sims 2 when no one ages with you but there is a mod to fix that now! God bless her, Lazy Duchess has and is in the process of creating a Sims 2 Story Progression Mod. She’s an incredible modded, and my gameplay for the sims 2 has never been better. It ages sims up, it gives them lives and drama and marriages and pregnancies and it’s wonderful.
Lazy Duchess is such an iconic queen. I haven't tried her Story Progression mod yet, since I play rotationally, but her other mods have revamped my game.
I'm sad they didn't add more weather for Season. Tbh, I would want to see sand storm in desert or hail (which was in sims 2 !) It's 2 little add, but the sand storm would make the desert maps more interesting in my opinion
I honestly don’t want a sims 5 yet, I feel like we are finally getting some good content for the sims 4 and I don’t want to have to pay so much money again for more packs on a game that might not be good
my hope would be that the sims five would have lots of things included so we wouldnt have to rely on packs that much, similar to the other sims games, but this is EA we are talking about so i doubt that would happen
I wish we had grocery shopping AND clothes shopping. And real clothing/grocery shopping as maybe an update to get to work? So the items at the grocery store are the same but you have to actually go and pick up the items like you did in Sims 2 and the clothes would move in and out of the mannequins so you only had a certain amount to choose from and you pay for them. And then you can sell unwanted clothes for less on plopsy. I just need more ways to spend money because bills alone aren’t it and I would love the realism of having to buy clothes and food from stores and not just a market kiosk/having every clothing item available in CAS
Yess! Having to actually buy clothes is one of the things I really miss from TS2. And what a great idea to sell used ones on Plopsy later - I haven't thought abt that but it would be great!
I'm personally not interested in that idea partly because I have like hundreds of items of CAS CC and that just seems overwhelming for shops. I agree about more ways to spend money, though!
Personally, I like sims 4 the best just because of how I play the game (mostly building) Also I’m on a laptop and without a mouse the sims 3 camera is HARD to use. I only use it for rotating objects.
Me too! I like building but I don't have alot of packs so I tend to get bored after a while:( but also I cannot use the sims 3 camera and just use it to rotate like you😭
I didn't know the sims 3 camera was an issue I can handle it fine even without a mouse though a mouse is easier. I played sims 4 a lot without a mouse and actually found it harder but that's personal preference I guess
I started with sims 2 years ago and used to play a lot, make stories, build families, stuff I dont do in sims 4 because its boring. With sims 4 I pretty much only build and use cas, but in sims 2 I never did either bc it would always look bad no matter what. Different strengths, I suppose.
lmao whenever i play the sims with my younger sister or boyfriend, they always complain about me using the sims 3 camera but it feels so instinctual now having grown up with the older games
I can't understand people who dislike Get Together at alllll omg :") Until like a month ago, Windenburg was the only "European" world we had in the Sims 4. Sorry I don't wanna play American simulator ig, I like my sims living in a world that looks like where I live.
The world itself is absolutely lovely, but I can't justify buying it because I don't care about its systems, you know? I totally see why it would have a lot of appeal for non-Americans though, to the point that the world itself might be enough to justify grabbing it.
@@TiaKatt I can understand that, and yeah, that's exactly why I bought it. But I also love the build & buy and it came with a million lots so I just can't help but love it. I think it's criminally underrated! :))
also. the services work terribly that’s the worst bug imo, caterers just don’t finish meals half the time, butlers just leave, cleaners stand and sort books for 7 hours and don’t clean, dj’s don’t show up etc it works so badly
The lack of story progression in TS2 is one of my favorite things about it honestly. I like playing every family in a neighborhood rotationally and being able to witness everything that happens to them. Plus there is a story progression mod by Lazy Duchess if you do want to just play one household, but when I installed it I felt like I was missing out on important events and ended up removing it.
"...would rather shit in my hands and clap" "...really boils my piss" I swear every other weak I adopt a new Jesse saying unintentionally and it shocks the hell out of my friends each time :')
My unpopular opinions on The Sims 4- -People really need to stop using the $700 estimate, it's way out of date. Every pack + base game + tax costs between $941.95 and $952.76 depending on which version of the base game you get. Not getting on to you by the way, it was the comment on Twitter and besides, everyone does it so I'm not even trying to get onto them. -I don't think mermaids and aliens need a skill tree, for all the comments I see about it, I never see anyone actually say what those skill trees would entail. What I've noticed is that EP occults have are less fleshed out than the GP ones, but the occults in actual myth are also less fleshed out than GP ones. Spellcasters and Vampires have a ton of different stories, lore, and abilities around the world to choose from that most people can agree is a defined aspect of at least a version of the occult. Aliens and mermaids have significantly less defined lore, and what they have is already included. Aliens are so general, there's no real defined aspects other than UFOs, abductions, and the Sims series specific male pregnancy. With mermaids, the only generally agreed upon lore they have is being half fish, magical singing, a connection to the sea/sea life, and the ability to breathe underwater. There's also technically murder, but I think the that the game went as far with that as can be reasonably expected (you can summon something that drags Sims underwater, and I'm pretty sure they can drown if they have low needs). The Sims 4 mermaids and aliens have these abilities plus a few extra. Those occults just have less generally agreed upon lore to work with and flesh out. What mermaids REALLY need is an underwater world to work with, and a unique bassinet, urn, and gravestone like every other occult has. -I absolutely love playing in CAS, but Sims 4 CAS is actually pretty limited in several ways, and it shouldn't be considered on par with build mode. Dragging Sims' features may be intuitive, but it's way too reliant on presets. With Sims 3 sliders, you could make one preset look like a totally different preset, that's just not possible in TS4. There's a lack of traits, which is part of CAS. A lack of relationships between Sims to choose from. There's seemingly arbitrary limits on how far certain presets and facial features can be adjusted. You can't change what type of occult your Sim is in CAS even though you could in TS3. There's a lack of different styles which makes it extremely difficult to create a variety of diverse Sims (this has been improving, but there's still tons of problems). I could go on and on, but I'll stop there. -Occult gameplay is just as important and valid as family gameplay, and neither should be prioritized over the other. Yes, it's a life simulator, but it's also the Sims. The series has always had occult gameplay and there's no reason for it not to be included. -building and CAS ARE gameplay, they're just not live mode gameplay. Builders and CAS players are simmers too and they shouldn't be pushed aside. Live mode, CAS, and build mode should all be prioritized equally. -I think that the Sims 4 is a good game, but it's a bad sequel. I still think it's enjoyable though. -Mods and cc aren't required to have fun with the game or make it good.
I agree with everything you've said! Very fleshed out comment. But you can change the occult in sims 4 cas but only when you're creating a new sim i think
@@foxxygingervixenthat's the thing unfortunately, it's not changing the sim, it's just making a new sim. So if I just want to make one vampire, I have to go into CAS, make a vampire Sim separate from the randomly generated human Sim, and then delete the human Sim, and then I have to hope I don't change my mind at any point. It'd be much more convenient if I could switch one sim between different occults
If you live in the us it’s roughly with out tax and the base game deluxe 890 11 EP 10 GP 18 SP 5 Kits and then BG Deluxe EP 40 $ GP 20 $ SP 10 $ Kit 5 $ BG Deluxe 50 $
i wish the radio music in the sims 4 wouldn’t also speed up when you go in 2x or 3x speed, it didn’t do that in the sims 3 and it’s super disorienting. makes the radio unusable for me
if you have to base your opinion on whether a game is good or not on their modding community -- rather than the game itself -- then sorry but thats not a good game! a game should be able to stand on its own, and the modding community should only act as an enhancement to its core features and aid players in making a more rounded experienced tailored to their needs and wants. sims 4 is basically being held together by the modding community, unlike the previous installments that are still fine in their vanilla states. like dont get me wrong, sims 3 is a buggy mess but its still, you know, fun without mods ;))
Unpopular opinion: Cottage Living is the most overhyped pack ever to come out. As someone who’s wanted nothing but farming and better gardening in sims 4 for years, I’m so disappointed in this pack. It’s hollow just like most of the other packs.
I really, really enjoy CL and think it's fantastic -- though all the in-depth fun requires being super social with the townies -- but I have started thinking that "farming" should perhaps be a different skill from "gardening", specifically for tending to the new oversized crops? Even at gardening level 10, it takes ALL DAY to tend to like a dozen plots of oversized crops... and a dozen is hardly a "farm". I want to have big rolling fields of oversized crops!
-TS4 sims aren't ugly. They're actually the nicest looking we've got, you just have to know the right feature to adjust to create realistic beauty. On that same line, I hate TS3 sims. I hate how similar they all look, and how they all have their heads tilted like "u wot m8? wanna go?" -I love Laundry Day and hate Bust the Dust. Long story short, it has to do with the way they delivered the "everyday chores" experience. The first is optional gameplay with multiple ways to adjust it to your sims' lifestyle, while the other just failed to imitate that. -I think people mix up reusing animations and reusing gameplay and end up hating both. I don't care if they don't create new animations, but gameplay should never be recycled. That's why RoM is trash to me, witches are boring cause they do what regular sims do if they put in some effort in skill building. Vampires in TS4 and Witches in TS2 are a better example of how occults should be developed.
Unpopular opinion: I feel like the first 3 kits were scraped content from old packs Throwback fit - Fitness Stuff Bust the Dust - Laundry Day (couldve been Spring Cleaning Game Pack instead) Country Kitchen - Cats and Dogs and/or Cool Kitchen Stuff
@@fairypenguinss That is a valid assumption, I believed it was Cool Kitchen stuff because we got no counters in it, and Cats and Dogs because it fit the theme of the pack and we had barely any kitchen items
I recently started playing sims 3 and the packs are actually worth money. Open world is a game changer, I can't go back to sims 4 anymore it seems to enclosed and boring. I also love opportunities and how I can place lots in my town and so much more
open world would be nice, but what ive always wanted at the very least is for the neighborhood to be open. like, i shouldnt have to go through a whole loading screen to get to the lot right next door.
The fact no one else ages up is one of the things I actually loved about the Sims 2, because I play out a story I want to kind of control when everyone ages so it happens at the right time. So when that wasn't an option in Sims 3 it was a bit of a culture shock. I play the sims 4 with aging off so I can age my sims up when I decide the time is right. I seem to very much be in a minority there, but yeah.
Bo bobo bo bobobo bobobo is truly an anthem, you can sing it in the middle of the supermarket and you will plant that song in the head of someone for the rest of the day.
I just feel that TS4 is geared towards a younger audience in look, feel, atmosphere, etc, where TS3 follows its predecessors. They both have downfalls and pluses but I want to get TS5 cause that might actually get me playing again.
The last one really made me think, I've been playing the sims since day 1 and always enjoyed all the games, sure I knew Sims 4 has its weaknesses but I always genuinely enjoyed it. And then a couple of weeks ago I started watching Sims videos on TH-cam, before I was not at all "involved in the community", I just always played on my own, and that was actually the first time I read and saw all these complaints, and that's when I began seeing more issues with the game and got more annoyed at the packs and their contents. Crazy how that influenced me after being happy with the game for years
Agreed but if they let them do that, and ppl don't have strong computers, they're never gonna hear the end of "having 10 sims in my household makes my game run slowly >:((((( how dare u EA >:((((" sort of like how they keep builds bare bones so it can run on every computer. I think 8 is fine. I'd LOVE to be able to have roommates easily. Ppl that live with you that u don't control
@@madsahren2208 If someone decides to fill their house with 15 Sims and they know they have a low-end computer, isn't that their fault for cramming their place like that, not EA?
@@Takejiro24 I’ve seen people complain about lag and slowness while have a 25 year old computer and 1000+ mods and more cc. By that I mean they blame the lag and slowness on the sims and ea.
my unpopular opinion is that city living is such a fun pack but so aesthetically unpleasing! if they were to have made it recently i just know it could be so much prettier, and i’d probably play in the world way more often.
Get Together is the BEST pack because of the clubs. I use clubs constantly, it's not even an optional part of my gameplay. It improves the game's autonomy and gives great skill and social bonuses. Having clubs but not using clubs is just unimaginable to me at this point.
I use clubs all the time now that I know they are there. I did find that they’re dangerous to have around with pools if you’re planning on having fitness is a club activity. I left my game unattended for one and I have some days on a brand new save and came back to to drowned Sims. I had seven beds and a couch in the house but they still died from exhaustion.
@@Sugary-Stardust Sometimes I'll make household clubs. So mom, dad, kids, or whatever. Those clubs can have activities for the home like cleaning, repairing objects, and doing homework. Those are activities that a Sim will tend to neglect, but because they're club activities, they'll just do those things as a priority when the club is in session. I also add fitness to my club activities when my Sims start to put on weight as the game goes on. I know what you mean about them feeling tedious, like if you do one of the default clubs. It's better to make your own. You can even make clubs with dangerous activities if you want to kill some sims.
@@Sugary-Stardust Clubs are definitely the way to go family game play. Also if you have parenting you can use it to help make sure your kids get the responsible trait. Then when the kids became adults they automatically Work hard at jobs. They will also autonomously do their homework & leave for class earlier at University even if they’re not in a club.
i haven't played sims 3 but sims 4 toddlers being needy?? they can do so much on their own compared to sims 2 toddlers. they can get in and out of bed on their own, can climb up on couches, can feed themselves if you put a plate of food out. they seem like 4-5yos rather than toddlers. i loved playing toddlers in s2 because they were cute and you had to take care of them and interact with them a lot. they seem like more realistic toddlers (2-3yos). s4 toddlers are pm just slightly smaller children
I just want preteens. It would make it seem more reasonable to go from what I imagine is 7-9 y/o to 17/18 y/o with a stage in between. I know a lot of people don’t want preteens, But I would only want them if they were done well, and the other stages had better family gameplay. Maybe a pack that was like generations, but also added preteens and stuff they could do. Also this is separate but I REALLY want to be able to make non binary sims, and be able to pick sims sexuality and just some lgbtq stuff
People want updated babies and cars... I want urinals. When you move your mouse over the Bladder need, it shows a toilet and urinal. But we haven't had urinals since Sims 3. I used them all time for community lots (specifically dive bars, nightclubs, lounges etc).
I don't know if this is, per say, an unpopular opinion, but if the Sims 4 had a rendition of the Sims 3 supernatural and the Sims 1 making magic, my god it would be so good. I know it's all up to your personal play style, but man to have that option is honestly, in my opinion, game changing. I really enjoy a mixture a life/family gameplay, but also that chaotic, Jim Pickens style of horrific gameplay. To have the mythical, random, wacky gameplay is kinda what the Sims is based upon, like Jesse said. In all, I wish you could have that option of werewolf and faires and stuff, cause we all know how questionable Vampires and Realm of Magic was.
The last one, play is an essential for survival and healing, having something you’re perfectly happy with is significant and special. Hope the sims brings light into your life.
I LOVE LAUNDRY DAY & BUST THE DUST! I want my sims to be able iron and actually go to rooms to put clothes away. I’d also like Sims to have to change cartridges or bags on vacuums too. Get Together allowed me to make my Harry Potter classes and mod so…I love it! 😛
My unpopular opinion is that I love get to work and I think it's a great pack. U get active jobs, aliens, a secret world, chance to open a shop and I think it's great lol
Hey Jesse I just want to thank you for helping me cope with my depression. This year I had to drop out of uni due to mental health and seeing you normalise recovery from bad mental health has made a world of difference for me. Just know that you do make an impact❤
I agree with all points in the vid the only thing I disagree with is that The Sims Team is not scared of modders...it really feels like they are XD They have put items in game that are almost complete rip offs of cc created by creators. If they're not scared then they're milking ideas from them. But that's just me! Great video as always!
I absolutely love the Sims music. When I first started playing Sims 2, I didn't know that you could have your Sim change the radio station to anything other than the Salsa music station. I heard so much of it. I know that Sims 2 Salsa music by heart.
Amazingly, there is a working story progression mod for the Sims 2 now. I think it’s still in beta phase, but it has completely renewed my love for the game. Absolutely amazing creator.
I think the old console versions have some interesting features they should bring to the main franchise. I'm thinking Sims 2 console edition where you pull ingredients out of the fridge, then when you go to a counter/oven it tells you what you can make with these which was a lot of fun. Sims 3 console also had open neighbourhoods rather than open worlds. So, the 3 or 4 buildings in a neighbourhood would be active which might be a compromise to the open world that can be hard to keep working smoothly over time. Also, the story's from versions like the Nintendo DS version of Sims 2 (I think) where you take over and run a hotel. That one I have many fond memories of!
Yes, console Sims 2 needs more love. Also, freaking bring back LAYERED CLOTHING FROM CONSOLE SIMS 2! It can go a long way with customization even if the base game has little articles of clothing. Why isn't that a thing in the PC yet? It's so annoying in Sims 3 to deal with "Hair with Accessories". Like, I want to give my long-haired Sims a hat; but, the hair will either all be moved to her back instead of flowing down her shoulders or it'll be a new hairstyle entirely.
i love TS3 into the future. i’m a huge fan of Back to the Future, so having the “Doc Brown”-esque character and hoverboards made it so much fun. i also really liked seeing the future generations of my normal and occult sims.
I think the world system in the sims 4 is the best one so far. Yeah sure open world is fun, but the lagging just makes it super annoying to play. The lots in the sims 2 on the other hand, were way too restrictive as you could not leave your house without a (fairly long) loading screen. Having the ability to go a bit outside your lot without any loading helps the game feel more alive kinda - and being able to go to all the different worlds easily makes for more dynamic gameplay. Yes I will die on this hill lol
Unpopular gameplay style: I don’t play Sims 4 with mods/cc. I know how to mod my Sims 4 game I just can’t be bothered to look up the best mod list to make my game better. I have 645 hours on just unmodded sims 4 lol.
Same! I tried mods for a short period, and while I liked and miss the MCC in particular, I just can't be bothered to download then update every single time. Helped that my computer told me I wasn't doing it anymore. I did something weird and messed it all up, my fault, can't fix it. Still play and like it.
I personally find the sims 3 create a sim face customisation to be FAR easier than the sims 4 for me - every sims 3 sim I make has the potential to turn out absolutely stunning but the sims 4? it's a gamble and I have to rely on randomisation and don't get me started on sims 4 males 😭
The price for packs should be (BEFORE SALES!) Expansion - $20 Game - $10 Stuff - $5 Kits - $2.50 I understand that we should pay for extra content but the sims is not worth $800+
I think you misunderstood the music comment! "I never turn the radio on" - I think they mean the music on the in-game stereos. Which I _highly_ agree are often super annoying. If I never hear that The Sims 2 salsa-style music that's the default ever again - it will be too soon. I love the loading-screen and build music, though!
monday and tuesday are my recording days! leave video ideas here! love yas!
Every Room is a different size: as if you would randomize how many tiles does the room have
It could be fun because you can have a 24 tile bathroom and a 4 tile kitchen you know?

If at all possible some love for MySims Agents would be nice. 😌
Build your dream Pride and Prejudice castle!!!! Or each room is a different harry potter character x

That the sims isn't worth $700+ is certainly NOT an unpopular opinion
I don't think there's a single game on this planet that could be worth $700+
@@ZeroOhClock tell that to Star Citizen backers.
I mean most that have that opinion paid just as much for sims 3, since we have to include the store

Hard agree. I feel like people don’t realize how tragic base game is.
I don’t like the way cc looks, and I don’t like mods either. And I have the sims 4 on a computer that I don’t own myself so I can even download them
The sims 3 had this too I miss that so much too.
There is a mod on thepancake1 and MizoreYukii pateron which re-adds cuddling to the game. I use it in my game, definitely a necessity! Just wish it was in the basegame though.
Actually really miss the cuddling while sleeping 😭
Honestly my biggest problem with The Sims 4 is the amount of bugs that just go unresolved. I've been watching James Turner's playthroughs of Dream Home Decorator and Cottage Living and it's just bug after bug after bug. And even minor things that don't seem like bugs, but probably are, like getting second place in a fair where you were the only competitor. It really makes the gameplay frustrating, and that's why I just build.
I get last exceptions every single time i play with *just* maxis bugs. It's ridiculous!
Yeah, there are bugs that are almost infuriating.
1. Lipstick/ eyeshadow changes everytime you change something else.
2. Lipstick/ eyeshadow shades aren't correctly displayed
3. When creating a new household and going to bb you can't change between different floors and can't hide / pull up walls.
It's annoying. I don't want to close my game everytime I create a new household and dare to build/ remodel a house for them.
Edit:
The fact that they resolved the issue with the slopes in snowy escape over six months after release.
They charged separately for Dine Out and its still broken however many years later.
It's dine out for me. Literally unusable yet they still charge £17 for it and won't fix it.
i KINDA wish we could choose which decade our gameplay was set in, like "Oh I wanna play in the 90's because I'm a nostalgic BITCH" so my sims wouldnt have a cellphone or play video games all the time and whatever. Idk weird idea. But does that make sense?
Ooh I like that idea
I think that idea sounds really fun
I *think* there’s a mod that does something along those lines? Rings a bell
@@bayza7955 That would be amazing tbh
great idea!
I just wish that teenagers were shorter than adults in general, and being able to adjust their height would be cool!
Well put 👏
totally agree. it would be cool to have each action have different outcomes, like you said in your example with snowboarding. i also don’t really care about reusing animations because i actually never noticed it. i only realized it after many people were complaining about animations, but out of the many things that i find wrong with the game, the reusing of animations are on the bottom of the list for me.
YES! the sims 2 had little popups that said “oh boy! Fun unintended outcome! What’ll we do!” And it slapped!

I want them to mess up, even if they're not the evil sims.
wait i gotta hear about people's sims randomly dying in sims 3
The hairs are so bad compared to the new ones, they really really need to be updated. I don't care as much abt the clothes but I still agree
I wish they kept some of the hairs they updated and added them as new hairs instead. I had a sim with one of the hairs that was updated and it just looked wrong and i had to change it
The basegame clothing are all disgusting. Low-rise messes and some of them distort the hip area of the sims.
So the Sims should die? Im confused in what the alternative is
I share your unpopular opinion that I don’t want Sims 5. At least not right now. I’ve invested a lot of time and money in Sims 4 and I would like it to be fixed first. I really don’t wanna have to start over with a bass game and wait years for the things we just now have.
I would like TS5 to come out BUT ONLY when TS4 is fixed :T

I have everything but bust the dust. that's the only one so far i absolutely refuse to pay for.
@@AILUJ I don’t have the 90s fit kit or courtyard oasis. No particular reason, they just didn’t draw me in much, I may get them eventually.
Same.. and I don't even have all the packs but I have a lot of them..
Oh same. I just pretend ✨I do not see it✨ when I think about how much I’ve spent. I literally only get the game on sale, in bundles, etc. (except for Cats and Dogs? I think? And I actually want the bonus stuff in Cottage Living so I might pay full for that too) but I still can’t bring myself to add how much I’ve spent all together 😬
Not to mention it wouldn’t run on my laptop after a certain point so I spent… a lot of money on a gaming computer (not just for the Sims, for other games too, but I would be lying if I said Sims wasn’t the main contributor for needing it)
But I love the packs I bought and I justify it by thinking, “If I didn’t spend $40 on this bundle then I’d be spending it on eating out twice. I get to use this over and over whereas food will only fill me once”. TERRIBLE justification but it’s what gets me through 😅
Many of these packs could have been combined IMO.
😂 Now I'm going to buy Laundry Day just because of that lol. I love warm laundry 🥰
Moodlets are just poorly implemented in general, they make the Sims 4 just not make sense. I felt my sims 3 sims had more feelings despite not technically having emotions.
I legit had a Sim die because she was playful and then changed into warm laundry -.-
I was flabbergasted - death from wearing slightly warm clothes!?

Anyways ts4 with all expansions is around 3.5k where I live (Brazil) and it really makes me not want to move a finger for EA - also, I feel like it's important to include third world countries in the discussion, because I always see so many (mainly) americans trying to justify this price and saying things like oh just save money!! or false equivalences and I really feel like they don't have a clue of how expensive these things are for us, and how hard it can be to save this sort of money depending on your class
yeah to get the same experience as ts3 late night in ts4 you need get famous, vampires, and city living. thats bs.

Yeah!! Why do people have to pay for weather??? That’s something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time.
I do love the idea of 4 different packs for the seasons ( and basic seasons on the game) imagine summer you get surfing, lifeguard, shell picking a beach town! Water park stuff for your house? It would be pretty cool
I’m fine with being the seasonal activities being in an expansion pack, but I think weather should just be in the base game
There are many reasons NOT to want seasons in your game, so I don't see them putting it in base game either to only have people throw fits about the negative effects or do all that extra work just to give people the option to disable it.
@@MathPatath exactly!! The activities stuff was a fine addition, although I wouldn’t make it an expansion but rather a game pack.
I hard agree with that last comment. I can go months between playing the sims, but I always come back to the sims during the lowest periods of my struggle with mental health. Yeah, the game isn't perfect and could use some work, but I'm okay with that. It's an escape from not just the real world, but myself and my own mind.

Yeah it's basically dlc for a dlc
yes exactly. if the pack was all about small pets (and made them more interesting than some object) then i could squint and say its fine i'll ignore the obvious matching set pieces to cats and dogs
I always had the grades maxed in those game and still had time for other things, but sims 4 I’ve failed subjects even after studying for them.. not sure if this is a bug or if its just cause my sim is stupid and needed more time but still
@@Sugary-Stardust DU is hard for people who don’t enjoying playing it to just make their sims study 24/7
In sims 3 my sims could go to a kegger and spray paint the entire campus, and still be able to study in time for class the next day
In the sims 4 I’ll struggle with my one sim trying to keep their needs up while constantly sending them to study only for it to barely be enough before I have to send them off to class
On top of that you have to do the stupid paper/presentation thing that you physically have to make your sim hand in and if you end up forgetting that before the semester ends you basically fail the class
But even if you start those on day one you get too distracted by the daily studying it gets overwhelming and also boring cause your sim can’t do anything else cause if you don’t complete the homework it brings your grade down so much even if you had it mostly completed
Literally the only way I can play it is if I have two sims attending together so I can get the degree I want as one and actually enjoy some gameplay as the other
Like your sim is supposed to be able to do sport activities and go to parties and build robots on top of the studying but there’s never any time for that unless it’s between semesters
Kinda related but I want fish to be able to die if you don’t feed them
My unpopular opinion is that I hate the active careers, it's just too much work for me. When the Sims go to work that's my lil break 😅
They do give you a choice to go with them or not so if you go it’s your fault
In my opinion, the issue with Active Careers are the repetitive tasks.

Unpopular sims opinion:
There is no "best" or "worst" sims game, the franchise is pretty inconsistent in its appeal and target audience, each of the games can appeal differently to different playing styles. Some people want a detailed realistic experience, some people want something streamlined and relaxing. Some people want chaos and gameplay objectives, some people prefer freedom and aesthetic. People who have different play styles should stop arguing over surface superiority of one title over the other.
this is it, this is *the* opinion

That is a really depressing part of new sims games. Restarting the packs
The song Jesse is talking about is "Sim Time Sim Place (Lemon Jelly Remix)"
Yes aka the best song in the entire franchise
@@_jeanique i'm not disagreeing 🙌

Personally, I like sims 4 the best just because of how I play the game (mostly building)
Also I’m on a laptop and without a mouse the sims 3 camera is HARD to use.
You should absolutely get a mouse if you have some spare money trust me it's a saviour for like everything
literally !! i loveeee the houses so much and the whole feel . i can actually do legacy and be a little immersed now i love it sm
also. the services work terribly that’s the worst bug imo, caterers just don’t finish meals half the time, butlers just leave, cleaners stand and sort books for 7 hours and don’t clean, dj’s don’t show up etc it works so badly
I agree with the last opinion, even after all the things the game lacks of, I really enjoy it and It's my escape from reality.

My unpopular opinions on The Sims 4-
-People really need to stop using the $700 estimate, it's way out of date.

You snapped with that one. Didnt realize how true that is. Really sums up my feeling about the game
i wish the radio music in the sims 4 wouldn’t also speed up when you go in 2x or 3x speed, it didn’t do that in the sims 3 and it’s super disorienting. makes the radio unusable for me
You can change the settings in your game so it doesn’t do that! :)
@@rachaelhunt3898 holy shit thank you so much
if you have to base your opinion on whether a game is good or not on their modding community -- rather than the game itself -- then sorry but thats not a good game! a game should be able to stand on its own, and the modding community should only act as an enhancement to its core features and aid players in making a more rounded experienced tailored to their needs and wants. sims 4 is basically being held together by the modding community, unlike the previous installments that are still fine in their vanilla states. like dont get me wrong, sims 3 is a buggy mess but its still, you know, fun without mods ;))
I agree, but what in particular do you not like, first off Archie's mod was way better, and where's the lighthouses and horses

Mortimer is such a DILF. Tired of everyone talking about Bella, I want to hear more about Mortimer.
I'm a straight man but Victor Feng got me feeling a certain way ngl
yes!! i’m tempted to download a polyamory mod just so i can marry them both lol😭
-TS4 sims aren't ugly. They're actually the nicest looking we've got, you just have to know the right feature to adjust to create realistic beauty. On that same line, I hate TS3 sims. I hate how similar they all look, and how they all have their heads tilted like "u wot m8? wanna go?"
-I love Laundry Day and hate Bust the Dust.
Can you explain what was good about TS2 occults? I’ve never played it so I’m curious
Why did I read RoM as Rain On Me…
Whomever thinks the sims 4 are ugly doesn't know how to make nice sims. The CAS system is very customizable.
Sims3 Sims are the ugliest i agree. 100% i hate the Look. Completely.
Can you explain the occult’s thing to me because I always found the sims 2 occult’s boring 🤷🏿♀️
Unpopular opinion:
I feel like the first 3 kits were scraped content from old packs
Throwback fit - Fitness Stuff
Bust the Dust - Laundry Day (couldve been Spring Cleaning Game Pack instead)
Country Kitchen - Cats and Dogs and/or Cool Kitchen Stuff
I wonder if country kitchen could've been rejected concepts from cottage living?
@@fairypenguinss probably both counters look the same
@@fairypenguinss That is a valid assumption, I believed it was Cool Kitchen stuff because we got no counters in it, and Cats and Dogs because it fit the theme of the pack and we had barely any kitchen items
Nowadays i always play the sims 2 with the story progression mod and oh boy, it sure is a completely different experience
It's over $1,100 AUD for the full 'Sims 4 Experience' - it's rough out here
Bo bobo bo bobobo bobobo is truly an anthem, you can sing it in the middle of the supermarket and you will plant that song in the head of someone for the rest of the day.
I just feel that TS4 is geared towards a younger audience in look, feel, atmosphere, etc, where TS3 follows its predecessors. They both have downfalls and pluses but I want to get TS5 cause that might actually get me playing again.
Not me trynna figure out what TS4 is😭

Yes. Sims 4 is definitely more PG and toned down. I preferred the cheekiness of the older games.
i really love your jumper today- it looks super comfy and looks great with your hair
Crazy how that influenced me after being happy with the game for years
Pets shouldn’t be considered part of the house hold, or the house hold should have a many people as someone wants without cheats
Agreed but if they let them do that, and ppl don't have strong computers, they're never gonna hear the end of "having 10 sims in my household makes my game run slowly >:((((( how dare u EA >:((((" sort of like how they keep builds bare bones so it can run on every computer. my unpopular opinion is that city living is such a fun pack but so aesthetically unpleasing! if they were to have made it recently i just know it could be so much prettier, and i’d probably play in the world way more often.
If a sims 5 is gonna be created and released one day, I want it to actually be finished, cleaned, and POLISHED and be worth it, even with no packs.
agree completelyyyyyyyy we shouldnt need a bunch of packs to have fun with this game that already costs money
I wish I felt the same. I literally never use clubs... I find the gatherings SO boring. How does it improve autonomy? Because that sounds great.
To add to your first point, I want more ages for adults. A 20 year old is different to say a 40 year old.
People want updated babies and cars... I want urinals. When you move your mouse over the Bladder need, it shows a toilet and urinal. But we haven't had urinals since Sims 3. I used them all time for community lots (specifically dive bars, nightclubs, lounges etc).
omg, how could someone not like the sims music? it's the best part about the game 😭 especially sims 3 music..
My favorite Sims music was when they got actual artists to record covers of their songs in simlish for Sims 2
My unpopular opinion is that I like rabbit holes. Sometimes I just need to ship my Sims off to work and school and give me a break
The Caliente sisters are my favorite characters just for spice (Sims 2)
