Regarding old engineering drawings and notes and math...I'm a recently retired Aerospace Engineer with Lockheed Martin and shortly after being hired out of a job fair at Georgia Tech in 1979 i was at the Burbank facility as a young Jr. Engineer and was sent to a warehouse across town to find an obscure Russian Aerodynamicists'/mathematicians' analysis of an aerodynamics feature that is classified, but while we were at the warehouse we started rummaging through as much of the old aeronautical data we could find and found the original engineering drawings of the P38 Lighting WWII Fighter/interceptor. Needless to say, we spent all day analyzing it, great fun.
I'd say you have some crazy stories to tell from that facility. I am about half way through Ben Rich's book, Skunk Works. What a truly fascinating, amazing and crazy place it must have been to both work in and experience. I could talk about and look at aircraft like the SR-71 all day long, what you guys could design and build, using cutting edge knowledge and not a computer in sight, was just mind boggling.

This is just outstandingly satisfying to watch. And wholesome to know Williams heritage is authentic and true to its original time as possible. I hope it continues and gets taught to new staff in future decades.
I’m pretty sure the first time Williams used a steering wheel with a built-in dashboard was 2024 until then the dashboard was behind the steering wheel!
I the opportunity to visit the Heritage Centre a few years ago. Amazing collection beautifully presented and with the knowledge that most of them are still in running condition is fantastic.
It wouldn't be cheap because machining titanium isn't easy but probably not as bad as you would guess. Since they have the drawings it's just making a cnc file.
I think they are saying go drive your Williams F1 car and we can produce and sell you parts, Ferrari Clienti light, that's a good thing, it can grow into something bigger, big market, lot of people with a lot of cash to spen on their hobby, a luxury the automotive industry couldn't imagine 20 years ago. The old (and dying) automotive industrie realizes more and more that a lot of money can still be earned with supporting people racing old stuff and restorations of old (race) cars.
Willys, one of my old teams I used to work at for 9years on test then raceteam. The museum Chris is walking round is fantastic, starting with the FW08 right up to the present days cars. There did used to be another museum over in the main building which had some very special pieces of kit in it which nobody would ever see….. apart from if you worked there.
Mecachrome were always the (sub-contract) manufacturer of the Renault F1 engines. Renault maintained responsability for the design, engineering, test and support for their engines. It was Flavio Briatore who "acquired" the licence from Renault to use their then current stock of F1 engines under what ever name he wished....try Supertec/Playlife ....
What's funny about all these liveries is that those of us that are from the States never understood that they were all Cigarette brands 🤣. . We truly didn't know that 555, Rothmans, Winfield, John Player Special, Benson and Hedges, Lucky Strike, Mild Seven etc were in anyway related to tobacco 🤣. . Simply put - If those types of cigarettes weren't sold here we were clueless. We all just loved the look of the liveries and were so confused when they started leaving the scene after the ban

Lucky Strike was given to Soldiers in their C-Rations during WWII, they were a quintessential US brand for a long time(A big part of the TV show Mad Men) and B&H have been sold here for a while. But yeah, for a lot of that period you couldn’t just go online and see what the brands were. I really like the Mild Seven liveries the best, but Mild Seven is no longer a brand name since you can’t use the word “Mild” in a lot of countries due to regulations, now it’s called Mevius

I was sitting in the BMW F1 Car @ the Automobil Salon Genf as a Kid and i even sat in the Sim where you could win stuff. They handed me over a pack of Cigarettes and some Posters (p.s: I was only 16 at the time) Good old times i miss it really much : ) : (

Yeah I always thought they had 750bhp at the end of 97. Maybe it's slightly detuned for reliability because those engines were only designed to last a single 300 km race.

No, since the Williams' sold Williams, they've done the best in terms of sponsorship of all F1 teams.
