I've been at some weird point in my life for far too long. It feels like a limbo state. It's between the person I was, and the person I want to be. And yet, I still hold onto the mindless habit of numbing my mind with distractions.
Specifically, I scroll the internet for like 3hrs a day. It almost feels like an intentional form of self harm, to be aware of this yet to keep on doing it.
I'll take this as a sign that I seriously need to quit. It's not like I even like doing it anymore anyway. The algorithm already gave me the best channel on TH-cam anyway loll. With the best subscribers, too. Most of them are SO kind, and I'm so grateful I found this little corner of the internet ❤

Remarkable, you are aware of what you are doing, what you need or would like to do, and yet still do nothing.
I always say if you want something bad, enough you will do it, nothing and no one can stop you.
We only regret the things we have not done.
Something is holding you back, ask yourself what is the pay off that you are getting by not moving forward? Change can be scary, it is a lot of work, we often worry remain unhappy by not doing anything staying in a familiar situation is more comforting and safer than facing the unknown. We often complicate things by thinking too much, we talk ourselves out of the best things we can do for ourselves by not having enough faith in our ability to succeed fear of failure so we hesitate and give up even before we start, when the rewards of accomplishment you achieve could be priceless. By not moving forward, I can hear some disappointment and frustration; you are beating yourself up more than you need to. Be supportive and kind to yourself as you are with others. Once you decide to take some action, you will experience many wonderful positive emotions that will surprise and motivate you.
      Wish you the best

I acquired a best friend and maintained it for a whole year. I had to push them away recently as I had out grew a lot of things. I realized I didn’t hate being by myself and that the most growth I had was when I was in my own solitude. This resonates with me beautifully in terms of where I am in my life right now. I ran away from my problems, from myself, for years, in various ways. I finally am at the point where I’ve realized distraction won’t make me happy. It won’t fix the problems I’ve been running from. Only by confronting myself have I been able to take steps towards genuine peace with and understanding of myself. Truly, the only way out is through. Each time you sit with yourself, you take steps towards genuine happiness and connection. It won’t always be easy. You won’t suddenly be at peace all the time. But you will be able to slowly and steadily forge a new, more fulfilling path forward. Thank you for sharing :)

It’s a journey. My ‘run away from problems’ was literally running away from my family of origin to escape narcissist abuse. I didn’t figure this out for decades. From whatever chaos the world may present in my surroundings, I find order because I accept the chaos from its origin, I accept what is and what is not, and I thrive from there.

Most of us have parts of ourselves that need to be healed and carry feelings that are insurmountable. Working on it in solitude provides immense peace and comfort. Solitude air of stillness and tranquility can help us explore our thoughts and emotions, help tap into our creativity and explore new ideas, rejuvenate mentally and emotionally, we flourish and grow. Awareness of the finite nature of one’s own existence and the limitations of experiencing only a small portion of the world, realizing that there are countless places, experiences, and perspectives beyond one’s reach. Apprectiate the content. It's needed !

I've been somewhat of a hermit for most of my life, but especially since 2017. Thanks for reminding me that this time solo has been useful. I feel as an introvert, I was taught that I should be more extraverted. So I kept telling myself that I should be more social. Yet I can accomplish much more by myself, or sometimes with just with one or two people. I have learned to rely on my own self-love and self-care as my main sources. I find your videos relaxing and grounding. Your voice and presence are calming, and I enjoy the wisdom you share. 💚🙏

Your videos explain my way of moving through the world. It’s taken me hundreds of hours in silent contemplation and moments void of thought but I am in a place of neutrality and peace. Thank you for sharing this insightful, useful information at a comfortable pace. The last year of my life has been extremely enriching as I no longer give in to other’s requests. I use to give away my energy and have nothing left for myself. Now, I graciously decline invitations because I am benefitting so much from my free time alone. My life is organically shifting for the better with surprisingly little effort. Making healthy choices is a no brainer. The present is a treasure trove of self discovery and personal evolution. Being in silent stillness sparks ideas and inspiration. Be well, friends and Thank You for reading ✨

I have a highly stressful event this Sunday for a program I’ve started, and I’ve found myself absolutely glued to my phone (while anxiety insidiously mounts) with distractions, albeit sprinkled with moments of addressing the task, but nevertheless fewer than ideal. Now I know why…thank you. The stronger you train the muscle that helps you confront discomfort, the more we can effectively navigate these important moments.

I randomly stumbled on your video and felt the urge to put my two cents to it.
Firstly, I was very delighted about your precise share of mixed wisdom from the stoics and yourself.
Seems like you have been going through some stuff and you are challenging the way of life. Not just accepting it the way it’s presented to us.
    To my share:
I have been depriving myself from basically all my connections, for many months now.(for different reasons)
I use to be the accommodator and loved hosting people with my pleasing and generous persona.
Today I am very happy to be with myself and find it difficult to connect with people.
I kinda alienated myself from society. Also I am transitioning from middle class and artistry, to the higher society, since I have intention to create a business.
So my playground became hotels like The Ritz, or Hilton.
What’s interesting is, people seem to quickly figure out that I am not belonging in there. Every time I become the Center of attention, and it seems that people try with active manipulation(noise) to make me conform to their beliefs. It’s quite judging and heartless and in my opinion flawed as much as the middle class. (Just nicely packaged )
Though, it’s not bothering me, I even thrive on that and become pretty much always the most interesting/confident person in the room.
    Downside:
That awakens my arrogant side (for protection)
Once reached that point, it’s hard to get an eye for the people with the heart at the right spot and that carries on, even outside of the hotels.
That’s the cause for my alienation, I have trouble to recognise “my people “, or I have become hesitant on approaching someone, to not get another disappointment.
I clearly see that the majority of the people has lost touch to themselves and connecting on a deeper level would be nearly impossible.
So that makes my search for a business partner 99% harder by feel. I think even if there were 100 people in the room, it would be probably hard to find one person which is a perfect match. Since I am not just after money and I don’t want to connect with people which are actively playing zero sum.
I guess what I desire is basically family, which are unquestionably loyal and vice versa. Something people have lost faith in by the feel of my observations.
Reading through my own comment, gives me the feeling of a victim mindset.
    Something must change, that’s certain.
I don’t want to blow this more, though I got way more to say about what has been going on.
Grateful for your content and time if you read through my “two cents”

I must thank the algorithm for recommending me your video now having returned from a hard day of work, not because of my teaching duties, not at all, but it was made all the harder having heard news of my Italian grandmother being released from Alzheimers and she has been returned as our beloved Epictetus says. I had written a letter to her a few weeks ago inspired by Seneca's Letters. I did not do enough in my life to help her, but as Seneca says "You cannot choose your [grand]parents, but you can choose to be the [grand]child that you would want."
Thank you again for reminding me of the value of Seneca and the Stoics who if not physically with us, they are still alive with us in the writings they lovingly provided for us. Carla too is still alive and well in the logos. Her memory and her legacy will live on even if her physical body has decayed.

I remember a year ago when my husband traveled, and I stayed home alone for six weeks. While I wasn't completely isolated-I still went to the gym and did groceries-I spent most of the time by myself. It turned out to be a blessing. Although it felt overwhelming at first, I had trauma to work through, and I allowed my thoughts and feelings to flow without judgment. During that time, I felt closer to God than ever. Being with your own thoughts is nowadays a luxury and if you feel scared, go for it!

I’ve been trying to focus on my work. Life is very short, but you should enable yourself to know your path and the direction by which you can keep yourself going.
Spirit and calmness, spend time with yourself, and don’t let the weight of the world, dictate your thoughts and your feelings and allow you to be lead astray, and feel powerless, upset, annoyed, all of these things that are acting forces against you that you have the power to say these things are not they are not me
They are outside and they are not me. Allow yourself to be on the right path and enable yourself to know that which is right and feeling true honest and a sense of joy and livelihood.
Don’t allow a distractions of the past to dismantle the present, the present is precious moment that is yours, and yours alone, that is sacred to you and is right here right now
