Greetings from New Zealand. A great biopic and entertaining running tour of Chesterfield. I've watched a lot of videos on TH-cam of running events around the U.K. over the last few months, this is the first one where it hasn't been raining.
It doesn't always rain, mind you we have had a very wet winter in 2023/2024. I once did a one year study for Manchester, known as the Rainy City, recorded the weather every day and it was dry for 2 out of every 3 days (that's perception for you:) Love NZ, was there for a month in 2009:)
Great Video and It was a tough day with the headwind! Unfortunately, I'm sad to inform you that Roy ( Pound a Bag ) Davison passed away Turs 18th of August 2011. You did what I did on the cobbles and run on the flagstones for better balance.
Great video Will, I'm with you on the warm ups, I used to be religious about my warm ups (eg 2K for Parkrun) but now I've started filming, I end up neglecting it and it's more like 500m:( I was at Sizewell Parkrun the same weekend, great weather but really windy, video probably out tomorrow. That 10K looked tough, with the hills etc so 42 mins is excellent, looking good for Manchester:) And on the youthful antics, I think we were all a bit mischievous, remember "knock a door run"?
@@TheWu OK Will, I am pretty much all set, I'm working on your pace being (approx 4:15/K) so the first point I hope to see you at will be where Chorlton Rd meets the A56 Chester Rd (4 miles). I estimate you'll arrive at around 0935-0940 based on 0910 start if my calcs are correct. If I get any footage of you I'll be happy to send it to you later:) Keep to the right I'll be on the pavement that side orange top/lime green helmet:)I have 9 points I ride to on the course up to 23m but it might not be possible to see you at every one, it's quite hard keeping ahead:)
@@TheWu You're welcome, the pace/timings for the watch points are similar to my plan for last year when I supported a friend and also gave @MattRuns18 a shout. What colour top are you wearing, might help as the runners come at you pretty fast when you're spectating and need to get the camera rolling:)
@@AndyCliffMTB thanks Andy, if the questions for me and not Will 😃 Ill be there in Manchester in a couple weeks, looking forward to it, 3:10 if I'm lucky sub3 one day but im not expecting it this year. Are you there too ?
@@RunThePlanet I am planning to be there, not for the marathon, I haven’t even accomplished a half yet (pulled out of Oct-23 event with COVID). I did this last year, I cycle the course on my mtb, getting ahead of the runners so I can give them a shout. Saw MattRuns last year plus a friend who ran it😊I’ll need to plan the timings based on start times etc but last year it worked really well😊
Thanks Matt, getting closer now. Had a really crap week or so with some injuries in my feet but hoping I can get through it and hopefully it doesn’t effect my run.
You were such a rebellious youngster! I had no idea. We walked into the park but sure you'd finished at that point. I'm tempted to run it next year if I can bring myself to do any running whatsoever. Need a new video series of training up a slow 40 year old like me.
It's true, there aren't that many videos to help/motivate the over 50s, I try to do my bit on my channel, we just have to keep moving and realise that we can do a lot more than we realise:)
Thanks for the comment, I’m currently struggling with some injuries called metatarsalgia. Meaning pressure on the midfoot is painful so my feet are really problematic at the moment unfortunately. Normally I am midfoot neutral and had a gait analysis before.

Haha yes the week before was awful weather. I’m not sure I would have bothered if it was heavy rain as it wasn’t a key race. Good event though!
@@TheWu I’m not a fan of hilly courses but for some reason I’m doing Geneva again, big climb km 4/5 I recall😂
Great video mate! Knocking out that pace filming the whole way is legit mental btw.
Cheers mate, see you next year!
Great job on sticking to your marathon pace! Especially loved the stories and view of Chesterfield but man, those cobblestones--ouch!!
Thanks for the comment, appreciated. I enjoyed the event and the nostalgia.
Enjoyed this, being a Chesterfield bod myself. I'm going to have to run it next year. Apart from the hills it looks great!
It surprised me how good it was. I think it will get more popular next time.
Class video Bruce! Wishing you all the best for sub 3 Manchester. Kick its ass!
Haha 😂
Excellent. Have you done the No Walk in the Park 5k? 4 laps of the Park to bring back those run for your tea memories.
😁 No but I have known about it though , you did a video on it if I remember correctly.
Ha very good mate. Enjoyed the stories. That sort of behaviour is character building.
Thanks Rich 😅

I didn't expect a running tour of Chesterfield 😂 Hope the feet sort themselves out!
Haha thanks 🙏🏽
Another great video🎉
Glad you enjoyed! 🙏🏽
Learning to know Will video 😮 what an insight 🧐
Great run too though 😃 You make it look easy !!
Are you running Manchester next month, I know you were chasing sub-3, maybe you have now achieved it?

Oh definitely you should run it next year. Never too late to start, can always walk jog walk jog.
Came for the run, stayed for the stories!
🙏🏽 glad you enjoyed story time!
🙏 you put legends

Good video mate, story time with The Wu.
See you next year again for that sub 45!
Nice one
Thanks for watching
Ha ha ha the stories love it 😂😂 …not sure about Barry’s videos though 🤨
Thanks 😂
great work; thanks for the inclusion! :)
Which part are in you?
Yeah watching your running form you definitely run on your front toes. You should get some analysis/advice on that.

What's with these hilly 10K's?! I'm hoping Gloucester is as flat as I think it is on Sunday
Yea, hmm is that near Cheltenham? I’m sure it’s quite hilly around there.
Don't know whether to laugh or cry at the Bruce Lee comment 😂😂
Had to laugh haha
Critters and predator from the video shop , these youngsters will never know 😂
Child’s play ,Commando, Conan the Barbarian too
Bruce Lee 😂😂😂😂😂
It made my day that.
Bruce Lee 😂 as racist as we know it is. It was hilarious and you handled it like it should 😂 letssss gooooo
It was funny for sure 😂
Well done!! ‘Bruce Lee?’ Terrible. 🫣 i was called ‘Will Smith’ at Manchester Marathon last year. 🤣
Will Smith is a good looking man! 😄
