When my son was Jackson 's age my husband worked late night shifts at Applebee's ( with some light drinking after work). Anyway one time he worked that night, I was in at my job at 7 a.m. , he set little man up with a cup of juice on the coffee table , a bowl of dry cereal as he fell asleep on the couch. Well Dad rolled over and there was my son with the tub of butter with every large utensil sticking out of it . He had his feet propped on the table licking a big spoon of " buddy"
Any day we get a home blog is a good day… This one was particularly adorable… Tim saying that making a smoothie together is the best part of the day… Oh my gosh it brought a tear to my eye it with it’s just pure love. Thank you so much for sharing your family
‘8 year experience’ nanny here 🙋🏼♀️ The absolute best thing you can do for yourself (it keeps you sane is insane moments, because toddlers and preschoolers can be a bit crazy), is to ALWAYS give your kids 2-3 options. If they don’t choose the option then you tell them that you’ll make the decision then, and then they’ll pick an option. This works until they’re approximately 7-8 years old, but then at that age they should be more independent and make good choices on their own. 😊
100 % agreed with that with my first kid. The second...not so much. Starting around 3 years old (about 3 🙃) she refused to choose from a set of options, and would fairly quickly choose from her whole selection of shirts, etc. instead. Just goes to show that I always have new things to learn and experience as a parent lol
@@amandap8936 it’s probably easier for a teacher or nanny to set boundaries, but I don’t know, I’ve only observed parents, and they don’t seem to be able to keep the boundaries, I don’t have any kids of my own, after 8 years with kids from 0-10 years old I’m tired 😵💫. But in the scenario that the kid doesn’t want to choose then you set you foot down and make the decision. There’s of course instances that kids should just make their own decisions, like the clothes one you mention, then they can choose what ever they want because it won’t be a safety issue as long as they wear clothes that is appropriate for the weather. 😊

One of my favorite things about going to Publix as a kid was getting a free cookie from the bakery! At one of the entrances that has the thing with all the coupons and flyers some still have Publix specific coloring pages and crayons on the bottom of those, use to love that as a kid too, normally the entrance side that has the scale.
Such a good video! I think ever since Jackson was born the home vlogs have been just as fun if not more fun for me than the theme park videos. I obviously love Disney, but it doesn't seem like Jen and Jackson are able to go with Tim a lot of times when he goes to the parks and I really enjoy seeing the whole family. you know what else is good mixed with those dry oat packets is yogurt! I used to eat it all the time for an easy breakfast. I didn't microwave it obviously, just ate it nice and cold.
On rainy days up here in Chicago if I'm not working, I like to spend the day in bed reading comics, watching tv or just resting. It's nice to have a relaxing day once in awhile.

Here we have "Dave's Marketplace". The company started out as a fruit stand at the end of the road where my mom grew up. They now have lots of full sized grocery stores throughout the state. They have a complimentary coffee and tea bar that may feature baked goods from the bakery as well. 😊
One of the Rainy Day Fun things we do is, each of the kiddo's have a metal tin they have picked , (can be a decorated box or bag too). We call them our Grateful Tins. I have a box of old magazines and toddler scissors and they cut out things they like or love and put them in their container. When they are all done. They show me all the things they found that they are thankful and grateful for. It ranges from Food, Flowers, pic's of families having fun. etc... It makes them so happy to see how many wonderful things there are to be thankful for.

When I was a kid, my favorite rainy day activities were to draw (giant poster rolls of paper for murals were fun!), do crafts, build forts, bake cookies, and go outside in rain gear and enjoy the rain and puddles!

"You can't just eat butter." 🤣 I was just thinking about Jackson asking "Where'd that come from?" and it reminded me when my daughter used to ask all the time "Who got this for me?" She would love remembering where her favorite things came from! As she got a little older she would say "remember Aunt Lori got me this?" I think it's so adorable! Love home vlogs! That's really nice that your grocery store does that with the freebies for kids!!! That is not common. And, wow, pretty soon Jackson will not want naps at all. To be expected at his age. At that point, mine went into pre-school and loved it!!! A great way to make friends, etc!!!
Tim I’m retired from Publix and for years Publix has always given children free cookies and a ballon and also a basket in produce for children too pick from sometimes the deli has a ziploc bag of popcorn for the kids too 😊. Remember where shopping is a pleasure !! God Bless 🙏
I am a cookie baker and sometimes my 3D cookie cutters get warped like Jackson’s straws. You can put the cutters in a bowl of hot water for a couple of mins and they get soft and easily are reshaped. Maybe try that with his straws. :)
If Jackson is craving butter, it may be his body's way of telling him he needs more healthy fats. Giving him extra avocado, chia and flaxseed will help the craving calm down. You can add chia or flax to his oatmeal plus a little pat of butter in his morning oatmeal and that will help him get more really fast. If he doesn't like avocado, try putting it in a fruit and chocolate smoothie that he enjoys with daddy. My kids down theirs and have no idea it is in it! Oh and yes, it is normal for most bigger grocery store bakeries to give a free cookie to kids.
Jackson really is getting smarter and smarter!! And he’s talkative with full sentences now wow XD His little personality is sooo cute and that’s on how Tim and Jenn raise him😊 I can’t wait to be such a good parents like you two🥰❤️
We hardly ever get rain where we live, and love the rain in FL. We find every reason to be out in it. Last time we went to the beach and enjoyed the storm at the restaurant at the end of the pier. The rain and lightning was increadible. 😊

Seams like only yesterday my baby was 2.5. End of this month he will be 32!! I don't know where the time has gone!! Our first trip to Disney he was 5 years old and his brother was 8. Jenn, I miss those days. Enjoy every moment while you can.

Yes, Publix and Walmart have always given cookies. Whole foods does fruits. Publix greenwise has fruits. We have greenwise in Tampa and in lutz. Not sure if you have it yet....
If you ever want to give Jackson oatmeal with less sugar (those packed one has alot of sugar), do an overnight oatmeal in a jam size mason jar. In the morning, I warm it up in the microwave and then add whatever you want. We sometimes add peanut butter and berries; some honey or maple syrup; apple sauce, etc.
On Rainy days I play board games, paint, build a fort/tent and "camp" inside. I highly recommend building the tent for Jackson and camping inside, really fun with little ones
Choices are great. Helpful hint.. make sure that you keep his answer to the choices you gave them. So, "You want toast. We can do that. Do you want toast for your PB sandwich or your turkey sandwich." Thank you for your videos. Love the home blogs
I will say as someone from Louisiana who now lives in the UK, it rains much harder in the southern states than in the UK. Also it rains just as frequently. I haven't heard thunder since I got here last year, pretty much all rain I've seen is a light rain comparatively 🤣 But I do agree, rain doesn't stop the show!
My daughter used to grow 4 inches every year too. She’s only starting to slow down now at 12 years old. I just want to warn you of all the growing pains, my fingers are crossed the little buddy doesn’t get them too bad ❤️

Seams like only yesterday my baby was 2.5. End of this month he will be 32!! I don't know where the time has gone!! Our first trip to Disney he was 5 years old and his brother was 8.

Jackson isn’t two and a half until the end of May, I think. He was born the end of November, is that right? So end of May is 30 months. Whatever, he is ADORABLE! I love these cosy home vlogs, you two are such lovely parents. ❤️❤️❤️

Yes, Publix and Walmart have always given cookies. Whole foods does fruits. Publix greenwise has fruits. We have greenwise in Tampa and in lutz. Not sure if you have it yet....
If you ever want to give Jackson oatmeal with less sugar (those packed one has alot of sugar), do an overnight oatmeal in a jam size mason jar. In the morning, I warm it up in the microwave and then add whatever you want. We sometimes add peanut butter and berries; some honey or maple syrup; apple sauce, etc.
On Rainy days I play board games, paint, build a fort/tent and "camp" inside. I highly recommend building the tent for Jackson and camping inside, really fun with little ones
The best days are family days - loved it when our son was little and it was just the three of us.
Choices are great. Helpful hint.. make sure that you keep his answer to the choices you gave them. So, "You want toast. We can do that. Do you want toast for your PB sandwich or your turkey sandwich." Thank you for your videos. Love the home blogs

Yes. Our children are 40 and 38. We shopped at Publix when we lived in Jacksonville FL. Grocery stores gave cookies when they were small also.

I will say as someone from Louisiana who now lives in the UK, it rains much harder in the southern states than in the UK. Also it rains just as frequently. I haven't heard thunder since I got here last year, pretty much all rain I've seen is a light rain comparatively 🤣 But I do agree, rain doesn't stop the show!
Yep. We have Price Chopper and Hyvee and both of them give kids cookies. Walmart sometimes does too.

My daughter used to grow 4 inches every year too. She’s only starting to slow down now at 12 years old. I just want to warn you of all the growing pains, my fingers are crossed the little buddy doesn’t get them too bad ❤️

Rainy days are spent doing lots of art projects and building forts. Going to museums for some culture as well.
I could not really tell during the *time lapse* of Tim and Jackson in the swimming pool, I was wondering if Jackson (floatie assisted) was swimming? If so, that's so cool BC if I remember I was swimming at an early age as well. BTW Jackson is getting so audible and conversational now, he has sue grown in the last 2 1/2 years. 😎
