Its funny to see Huws guitar with the string in a loop on the tuning keys , i do that as well and have since i started learning guitar there are others that too , some just cut the lose ends off , ithink it gives the guitar a little class, love it and huw s guitar playing is frick n awesome no one in Hawkwind has come close to how he played in the band except for Dave Brock pulls off some amazing guitar progressions awesome to see and here this band play live there is nothing all s on this earth that can match them in there style of sound and imaginative songs that go way beyond earth and the entire universe we here u Huw keep on playing in Heaven your the best :-) RIP
Well, we know where Dave Wyndorf got his look from. God I wish there was footage of Bob Calvert singing this - but I don't think he ever actually performed it with HW - except that very last gig he guested on in 1984. Why the hell did nobody film that?
Thank you for uploading this. Great !! Angels of Death is a big favourite ... Hawkwind were in great shape in 1985 and I wish I could have seen them at the time... with the late Huw Lloyd Langton
Me too. I saw it on ECT, Channel4 (I think). I recorded it on our communal student video in Clays Lane East London in about April 1985. I was the only hawkfan there. I then saw then twice on the Black Sword tour. Wathamstow & Hammersmith Odeon.
they should release a bunch of LIVE ALBUMS from LEVITATION (ginger baker), SONIC ATTACK, CHOOSE YOUR MASQUES, CHRONICLE OF THE BLACK SWORD, SPACE BANDITS, ELECTRIC TEPEE, ALIEN4....tours.... my favourite (later) era.... best guitarist they ever had....
there is live albums from levitation , chronicle , teepee and alien 4 , theres Do not panic , live chronicles , the business trip and love in space that cover those albums tours
Wow... had no idea Clive Deamer played with Radio Head.... interesting. I still think Simon KIng was the best drummer Hawkwind ever had (no idea whatever happened to him?)
@@owenkrysler8235 He had issues adapting to Dave's new click track recording demands for Levitation in the studio. Shame though. He left the music business in 1981 or so, never to return.
What do ya sing???? I Am a rockstar, baby a rockstar??? Wow i like this lyrics... it is a real space atitude!!! baby you are rockstar!!!!!!! Rockstar!! i am a rockstar!!!!!
I thought ECT? Yeah I'll have some of that cos it's bound to be the right stuff, then I remembered I had ECT and all I got was a smashed memory, but it's all coming back to me now. I thought I was a bricklayer once but I just got plastered.
I liked this line up, and this era of the band. I saw them in 86 in a small club in Reading and they were fantastic. I wasn't aware of this drummer though. He couldn't have been there long. They were quite lucky with drummers in the 80's and beyond; from Ginger Baker to Monsieur Chadwick. I liked Simon King as a 'character' but man, he was sloppy at times.
This is Clive Deamer on drums. Can't agree with you about Simon King though - I love his organic 1970s drumming. And who cares if it didn't fit in with the coming 'click track'/'processed drums' days of the 1980s? 8-)
Huwie let me have a play the Gibson guitar that he is using in the video. I liked it so much that I offered to buy it off him. Huwie quite rightly told me to 'piss off!' Lol
This was not the 1985 tour . 1985 was the Live Chronicle tour which this number was not played on also they dressed in a very distinct way as the 85 tour was all about Michael Morcocks Elric
Yes that makes sense so I looked into it . This was 1982 tour . No idea why I bothered to look this up , maybe because 1985 was the first time I saw Hawkwind with my older brother . I had no Idea what I was letting myself into as I had just started college
Would have loved 'Ejection' on end of this set. Just not enough decent full gig footage around from '77 onwards when you were given a full spaced out trip. No one around like this for stage show effects or lighting.
More than one! Deamer is superb, but so was Danny Thompson Junior and original, Terry Ollis. Richard Chadwick has been in the drummer's chair now for 30 years and has never missed a beat. To me, he will always be number one.
Do you mean Danny Thompson Junior? The man who drummed on the famed Chronicles tour? The man that Dr. Harvey Bainbridge himself described as the "Professor of Skullpounding"? He was great, man! His replacement, Richard Chadwick, was even better and has been a constant in the drummer's chair for thirty years...
Yeah come home from work to me mums ..Leb, hw....warrior? According to the cutting outta telly guide. Still, angels & bitta bob..not bad. Saving it up for black sword.......
Brock is a legend in his own right , but his vocals are too shrill and weak for some numbers.... Hearing him do Silver Machine and The Right Stuff .... just doesn't cut it....
Amazing performance and HLL on guitar still blows me away
Huw LLoyd Langton. History's most under rated guitarist. History's longest autograph...
Absolutely spot on he was amazing
Huw was just an amazing guitar player highly underated.
RIP huw miss ya loads.
Huw's solos were amazing....
Clive Deamer playing some killer drums, amazing
It was this era that made me a Hawkwind and The Damned fan for life.
Brilliant Huw Lloyd Langton
Huw Lloyd Langton was is one of the greatest guitar players this country has ever had .
Huw Lloyd Langton is one of the best guitarists the world has ever known .

Dave's vocals are great.He's a superb guitarist.
Many a time,, I've marveled, at the great Dave brock, out put and creative mind, I like the way Richard Chadwick has stayed in the band....
Not a Chadwick in sight. Not even Thompson. Deamer or even Griffin at a bet.
That was really good, top version
This version of Hawkwind very tight band
