I'm more of a diehard Mario Party fan (and Mario Party likes would totally deserve such a search as well), but alongside Rhythm Heaven and Wario Land, I'm also a huge fan of WarioWare and was currently replaying Move It when I found that and I'm glad the research is totally on point! I've learned something about Work Time Fun, I didn't know it was a sequel but I respect the "anti-game" aspect of that game so much, even if I doubt I'll get far into it. Also, as a Spongebob Squigglepants enjoyer, can confirm they are indeed referred to as nanogames whenever they are named, and the game is by WayForward so it's pretty good quality-wise imo. Was a great fix during the WarioWare hiatus.
A little thing I wish was mentionned, tho, is a very specific key aspect to the WarioWare series that is rarely well-reproduced and explains why the devs worked on Rhythm Heaven next.. WarioWare is secretly a rhythm game! Each microgame takes one or two measures, (8 or 16 beats) depending if it's a long or short one and then, the "win" screen takes 4 beats and the "intrelude" between microgames also takes 4 beats, also taking a mesure as a whole. Basically, microgames aren't measured by seconds but by Beats Per Second, it's not the speed going faster, it's the tempo, and this is a key aspect of the franchise that, for me, isn't talked nearly enough and is part of why this series is so unique, alien and interesting!
Also, maybe a detour to talk about other types of "single-player minigame collections" could have been interesting, like Mr Bones for the SEGA SATURN that changes your gameplay on every stage in a linear single-player adventure and it's up to you to understand and adapt or Vivan Clark on Steam that is structured more as a collecthaton with a lot of different gameplay styles that link to other gameplay styles, hidden objectives and a life system in-between "runs". While not "mini", those types of games also structure the type of experience the WarioWare series wants to achieve, especially with it's boss minigames, but I totally understand cutting them for the interest of time, same for the section above, it's moreso nitpicking.
Finally, here's some omissions that I think could be interesting to check out or mention in a follow-up (or just if you're in the hunt for other interesting microgames collections):
    =Flash Games=
There was a lot of WarioWare inspired flash games, back in the day, like Cursor Chaos, Nicktoons Superstuffed: Mini Game Mania or Ninja Glove. But here's some of the interesting ones I remember that I can share here.
    - Grid16: Very interesting game where you play 16 microgames contiunuously, the game just randomly makes you continue your game on a randomly selected one until you game over on all of them. Fun twist on the overall idea!
    - Atlantis SquarePantis Bus Rush: In this one, you're in a maze and specific places start specific microgames. Also another way to play with the WarioWare classic formula.
    - Four Second Frenzy series: Is interesting as it's a collab type of game, has a bunch of microgames per entry, the latest being currently developped as a complete game, and the final boss is usually an actual complete minigame that gets cut-off by microgames, an absolute classic! The dev also made "obey, the game" where you have to follow the instructions in the allowed time.
There's also a flash game I've been trying to find for like an hour that was presented as a "brain game"' with a final score at the end, you could select your gender as "male" "female" or "alien" and there were leaderboards or something? One of the microgames was hitting monkeys with your mouse but I cannot find it for the life of me..
    =Fan Games=
Especially for Mario, the fangames didn't run out. Like V-Ware from MFGG.net or the "sort-of" remakes on YoYoGames.com (now can only be found on archives) there is also quite a lot to chose from. There's even a WarioWare side-mode in Mario Party 2 Play, a MP9/MP10 inspired fangame that started development in a forum I was a regular in (and even have a cameo in the game) but I wanted to highlight those specific examples:
    - TerrorMario! series: Weird series of microgames. Tougher than a regular WarioWare game and rough around the edges but the presentation and style is honestly captivating.
    - Mario Vs. Wario Ware: An actual Mario 64 mod that completly changes it to a WarioWare game! Such a crazy premise!
Also, just in case if you don't know it, check the DoujinSoft Store website, it's an archive of all the WarioWare DIY content (I love this game, it's the reason I'm into programming at all!)
    =Other Games=
Before highlighting specific games, I also wanted to mention how the Mario Party series uses microgames as well. Usually on the board itself, but has other uses like duel minigames in Mario Party Star Rush, Mario Party: The Top 100 & Super Mario Party take form of pretty simple microgames and Jamboree has a few minigames that could be considered "microgame collections". There's even a 100% WarioWare-inspired event in the 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
    - Hot Pixel for PSP: Actually a french game! (Cuz I'm french lol) And seems to exist because there was quite a lot of WarioWare mods on the PSP. Was made by a street artist/influencer but it's not very good but it's still pretty unique in my opinion cuz it does a bunch of risqué stuff that Nintendo would never allow
    - Ultra Mega Xtra Party Challenge for Nintendo Switch: Funny name, heavily inspired by Smooth Moves and has the silliness you'd expect for a WarioWare inspired title but the game itself is pretty mediocre and even has the audacity to have loading time during gameplay which totally kills the flow! The game also just seems like reusage of existing minigames/concept from the devs older titles which also makes it weaker that it could be.
    - Tomato Adventure for the Game Boy Advance: Might be stretching the definition a bit but this is basically the precursor of the Mario & Luigi series and every attack is a microgame. I have yet to play it but this could open a whole new can of worms but I thought it was worth mentioning!
We could also consider Cooking Mama a microgame collection? But it's still up to debate.
I also wanted to talk quickly about Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party because it's another interesting use of microgames. During a regular minigame, an "ad break" can play if a player presses a specific button while playing. The winner of the microgame (usually a "shake as much as you can" or "reflexes" type of microgame) gets a bonus for the current minigame (invincibility, bonus of points, better movement, etc..) and you can unlock a single-player WarioWare-like mode for finishing the story mode as well, very interesting AND early new use of that concept!
I've stayed up way too late to just type of that whole comment so that'll be it for today but yes, super interesting topic and amazing research!

Wow! So much good information here, I truly appreciate it. I will definitely be going through all of the games that you mentioned here. I have also been making notes for a similar video on Mario Party type games, but it has not fully come together just yet.
You really helped to make me aware of a lot of titles that I had never heard of before, thanks again!

@@HiddenMachineGaming There's a lot of interesting titles I could recommend for that, let me know if you need any! And of course, I really need to see it when it releases!!

@@HiddenMachineGaming Sorry for the delay, here's what I have! For the context of this list, I'll define a "Mario Party like"' as a "minigame collection with a central gameplay loop that ties the minigames together" as I don't think a Mario Party like must have a "board game element" (although many in this list will) since for example, Wii Party should count, even if half of the modes aren't about navigating a board, for exemple, but it should also be more than just a minigame collection with a tournament mode that just counts points like the BUZZ Junior games for example (although they are still interesting in their own rights but I wouldn't compare them to Mario Party much myself)
I'll try to make it brief for every game:
      - 64 de Hakken! Tamagotchi Minna de Tamagotchi World; Probably the inspiration to make the first Mario Party game, as it was also made by Hudson Soft. Mixes the usual minigame & board/item play with life-sim mechanisms (as you have to take care of your Tamagotchi for it to be fully grown before other players)
      - Tamagotchi Party On! released way later on the Wii, all the minigames are fairly easy and single-player but here, it's a race to get the most popularity to be voted the mayor, instead of multiple boards, you have one huge map composed of multiple boards and the longest turns setting is claimed to take 25 hours!!
      - Wii Party & Sonic Shuffle to also put the obvious out of the way but there's also Sonic and the Secret Rings with an extensive Party Mode that feels like a prototype of Wii Party, impressive!
      - I don't think Crash Bash counts as a Mario Party-like (as it's all about the minigames although I would like to mention Nickelodeon Party Blast for being an attempt to take the same formula with Nickelodeon cahracters) but Crash Boom Bang definitely is and is... an insanely confusing one, I've beaten the story mode and even I'm not sure what's going on.
      - Speaking of confusing, let's not forget Disney Party, by hudson soft, which is basically the car formula but more insane. The map is also an huge open world with multiple inter-connected boards, navigation on said boards being all voting-based, a lot of items to buy, and the win condition is a weird bingo system/bonus star hybrid. Bonus points for being able to customise basically every minigame in the game with custom rules and every minigame having a "special state" of sorts.
      - For hudson soft, I would like to also talk about Games Island and Job Island, the former is a weird attempt to make a Wii Party clone with 100 minigames and a confusing board mode, the latter is an interesting single-player game where you need to manage your money while trying a different part-time job every day, I heavily recommend playing it blind as it as a very fun and silly story to follow!
      - For Pac-Man: We have the well-made Pac-Man Party, a mix of monopoly and mario party done in a very elegant way, and Pac-Man Fever, reminds me of Island-Tour-style boards where you have to go to the end before your opponents except done way worse... The same company also did other (and slightly better) games like Shrek Super Party, that I have to play more of but seems to have interesting minigames, and Muppets Party Cruise that I have yet to play but looks like it has the grid based movement system long before Star Rush existed... Oh and "The Bible Game" of course but it's more of a quiz show..
      - For the Mario & Sonic series: The winter games & sotchi games tried their hands to some party modes which I would say would count. Rio Wii U & London 3DS is debatable on that. But London Wii has the most extensive party-mode and is severly overlooked with both events and minigames taking place during it and does the "bingo" gimmick of Disney's Party WAY better in my opinion!
      - Fuzion Frenzy 1 & 2 are close to count but I would say Fuzion Frenzy 2 is more-so legitimate for that title as you get cards outside of minigames that you can use to change the outcome of minigames themselves which adds a layer of strategy and mind-games outside of the actual minigames.
      - I also wanna talk about the Rio videogame adaptation that is excellent and has a few "Wii Party style" side modes like a wheel mode or a ring toss mode.
      - For the Raving Rabbids, I would say the party mode of TV Party could count but Rabbids Land is a way more straight-forward Mario-Party-like with a board and minigames that take advantage of the wii u gamepad.
      - For the WarioWare series, a bunch of games have side-modes that could be seen that way, like the two switch Wario titles or Smooth Moves, but Mega Party Game$ is the clearer representation of that idea imo
      - For Bomber Man, your mileage may vary but there's the whole BomberMan Land series, not all are translated but are mostly about doing minigames in a giant theme party to advance on an interesting story mode, I really want to get into them but the language barrier is too strong for me..
      - For Ape Escape, we have the Ape Academy series with Ape Academy 2 who is a mix of a deck-style card game and minigame collection, heavily recommend.
      - Smash Tour could also be easily considered a Mario Party like which open a huge door in a way but I think is justified
      - Garfield has TWO partygames, the first one, (The Garfield Show: Threat of the Space Lasagna) is a game where Garfield is against three other mouses/evil lasagnas heavily based off the CGI cartoon where every minigame is an 1vs3 game which I think while done sorta poorly, is still fairly interesting! The second (Garfield Lasagna Party) is done by Balio Studio and published by Microids, they do a lot of budget titles, a lot of low-budget partygames and this one is definitely one of them with an awful look and generic party-mode. I suggest looking at what they made, there's a lot of minigame compilations but might be other Mario Party likes as well!
      - Scribblenauts also has a partygame with the budget but interesting Scribblenauts Showdown where some minigames are fairly fast & simple and others are more involved and require the player to enter anything that fits the prompt to get an advantage at the minigame, way too simple but still interesting.
      - There's also the MySims Party, I'm not sure if it has a board sidemode however so it might just be a minigame collection.
      - Bonus mentions for Pooh's Party Game: In Search of the Treasure and Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt that I have yet to play but have been noted as Mario-Party likes multiple times.
      - And for animes, we have One Piece Pirates Carnival on Gamecube where you want to control the most of the board at once and plays a bit like reversi or the recent Demon Slayer game that released recently.
      - For unhonorable mentions, I'd mention the awful french Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tits Wii game (would be VERY weird to play without context or prior french knowledge haha) COOKING PARTY (wii) and Instant Chef Party (switch) that look both equally insufferable; and finally the Croods that seems like a weird rip-off of Mario Party 9.
      - For browser-based games, there's a bunch but I can recommend the Block Party series by Nickelodeon, the first one is very much like traditional Mario Party while the other two are weaker and try to do their own thing, there's also "The Race To The Goo Lagoon" which is kinda like Mario Party as well but less so. I would also talk about Puzzle Freak 1 & 2, interesting mixes of board game and puzzle games. I'm sure there's a ton of others to find as well so good luck on your search but those are the most memorable I think!
      - For more indie efforts, I'd like to mention the classic Pummel Party with an amazing workshop, the sort-of overlooked Monster Jaunt with super-interesting minigames, the kinda generic Party Panic with a fairly rushed board mode added post-launch, the fairly unknown Cake Bash that does the idea in a fairly simple manner and of course Party Project that blurs the line between fangame & indie game. There's others as well like Cards of Chaos that seems to be lost media currently, upcoming games like Lunars or games like Astral Party or Party Animals that I barely know anything about but I wanted to mention the ones I know.
      - Speaking of fangames, Mario Party PC 1 & 2 or Mario Party PLAY are some of the most well-known but few have replicated the mario party formula. Of course, there's Mario Party 2 Play, but there's others like Mario Party SDM on the Yoyo Games Archive, Sonic Babies that now seems lost media or an unnamed Mario Party Game Maker project made by Dark Boo which an unfinished version can be found on the Mario Party Legacy forums.
Once again, it was a lot, I hope I didn't miss too much but while searching, I got reminded of "MicroWorks" that I have yet to try but has been described to me as "WarioWare but free and battle-royale" and also learned about the upcoming "MINDWAVE" and "Buster Jam" which could be interesting in a follow-up video, if it even comes. In the meantime, hope all that talk was interesting enough and wishing you a wonderful day!!

toilet time! (all bathroom themed microgames)
    grumpy cat’s worst game ever
and those are the “more prominent” ones
