HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI DAY

On August 6, 1945, during World War II (1939-45), an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion immediately killed an estimated 80,000 people; tens of thousands more would later die of radiation exposure. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people. Japan’s Emperor Hirohito announced his country’s unconditional surrender in World War II in a radio address on August 15, citing the devastating power of “a new and most cruel bomb.”

The atomic bombs avoided an invasion of the mainland of Japan. This saved well 200,000 to 1,000,000 American lives and probably a larger number of Japanese. The first responsibility of any government at war is to minimize casualties to its people. Dropping the bombs was clearly the right thing to do. .

Japan still had millions of armed soldiers on their home island and were training Japanese citizens to repulse any American invasion of the Japanese home Islands..America casualty estimates were 250,000 to one million american troops if they executed the planned invasion of Japan called "Operation Downfall" ! The Japanese military also researched the numbers of possible casualties in the American invasion several times and their estimates were around 20 million casualties in most calculation they researched..The bomb saved lives instead of the war dragging on for 18 month to 24 months! America had to do what it could to end the massive death tolls the Japanese inflicted on several nations in their quest at gunpoint for a Japanese Empire that would have enslaved millions in China, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia and several other nations! Japan brought the ruins of war to themselves because of Japanese fascism and their willingness to die for their god like military leaders and the defacto emperor's plan of building a new Asian empire controlled by the Japanese government!
