    Tim Mosso has been telling us for the longest time that the Royal Oak bezel does not have screws. It has bolts. And the screws are from the caseback.

      Yeah, but you really just have to look at them. They’re hexagons so obviously they can’t screw

      @@TheRausing1 yes, which annoys me when watch commentators call them screws. They're clearly not.

      They're bolts with a slotted screw head design. So it's understandable a bit misleading at first glance.

    Really a design and engineering marvel of it's time. With it's brutalist architecture, it brought industrial design, into the mainstream of fashion. I knew about the "through bolting bezel," but I was not aware of the oversized inner gasket. Thank you Andrew, for sharing this video. Understanding is key in life, or so I believe. Cheers my friend, and best wishes.....

    Damn, now that I understand the engineering behind the design, I want one! Its simplicity is brilliant!

    This guy keeps talking about the importance of the mono-bloc case yet AP had been making the previous few generations all in three piece cases.
    Glad to see AP have some integrity again and not skimping anymore by making the newest iteration with a mono-bloc case again.

    I can’t be.I’ve he said some people have attempted to unscrew the bolts from the top. The holes are octagonal, the bolt heads are also octagonal. On what planet would they be able to be unscrewed?

    How resilient are they? Say, vs. a Submariner, for everyday wear in any and all conditions.

      @Timeandtidewatches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have one - the 15500 - it's a sports watch, it's fine for everyday including swimming, but not dive ready like the Sub, which is 300m WR. Also, this is more of a scratch magnet, but on the upside, far more polished and like a disco ball on the wrist - Thanks for watching, Andrew

    the truth behind the royal oak's construction - a simple machine made contraption that costs US$300 to make. lmao

      You could say the same for any stainless steel watch case.

    • @timeisahumanconstruct9251

      you should make them then and sell them out of your trunk

      @@timeisahumanconstruct9251let me introduce you to chinese rep factories making ro reps for like 400 dollars. The catch is they're missing the finer detailing of the the manual brushing, people who buy these reps usually get them rebrushed by modders for this exact same reason, a few things here in there are also not accurate like the rotors not being made of gold, and the most obvious thing, the dials not being made with the same process and same vintage machine that ap has, tho their dials are getting better by the day and are ok. If it wasn't for the high demand paired with the low supply due to ap's limited output these watches wouldn't have been so expensive.

    I’m sorry man but the jacket with pocket square and hoodie look is just not the way… you look like the kid at the country club who had to borrow a jacket to have lunch

    AP is the most overrated watch brand. The only thing they have is Genta's RO. Since 70s they have not presented any interesting watch.
