Here's my 2nd video of 2023. And this one was an idea that spawned rather spontaneously when all those "When the Free Bird Solo kicks in" edits started blowing up recently and apparently, no one has thought of doing this type of edit. But now I have.

So this video has blown up against all expectations.
But unfortunately, the comment section is already being filled up with the "NaScAr DiEd WiTh EaRnHaRdT" Nonsense.
So all I have to say in response is this. If you really haven't watched a single NASCAR Race in over *22 Years*, then why are you clicking on these types of videos just to state something that really doesn't prove anything?! If anything, it's because you're trying to guilt trip the few people who do still care about NASCAR and still actively watch it because your enjoyment was robbed from you but you're not content with feeling that way. So you have to pass it off on everyone else

@@sprolyborn2554 I've been watching NASCAR for 27 years and I disagree with you. It fell off in the late aughts, but it's been picking up steam again. Does NASCAR make stupid rule changes all the time? Sure, but the on-track action is significantly better these days than it was 10 years ago. We're nowhere near the late 90's peak, but we might be in a few years. NASCAR didn't die with Dale, the France family ran it into the ground. Blame them.

I’ll jump in this. I was a hard Earnhardt fan, he was my first celebrity/famous hero. I remember watching incredible moments live (Dale resetting the lap record at Watkins Glen, winning the Daytona 500, and this race). His death was a lot for me at a young age. Through those following years, I tried to be a Harvick fan, be a fan in general, and to follow along with the rules as they changed. It was the chase/playoff system that turned me off and I left to enjoy other forms of racing (WRC, BTCC, V8 Supercars).
In the years since, TH-cam would randomly recommend a NASCAR race recap, and I would watch it and find it interesting enough to see if I would want to invest time and keep up again. From time to time there would be a good race, but I would never enjoy it enough to follow for more than a few races.
While I’ll admit my personal taste have changed away from circle track racing in general, it’s clear NASCAR lost faith that the racing alone was strong enough to carry the sport and prioritizes ‘entertainment’. The length of the races (at least when it comes to elapsed time) is just way too long and may be something that worked better in the past. There are like 100 races in a year they can be a little bit shorter. They can be a boring slog to sit through.
But to be more serious…things like atrocious consistency issues with applying rules, the green-white-checkers rules making the end of the vast majority of races a wreckfest (along with the way the playoff system works forcing drivers to race that way), the safety issues of this current gen car and how it appeared NASCAR was just caught with their pants down, general morale between drivers and the sanctioning body as a whole, and the very poor quality of broadcast coverage from networks does make me grumble after a few beers “nAsCaR DiEd WhEn DaLe DiEd”

However in the late 90s I found myself working in sight of the Texas Motor Speedway and thought I'd watch some practice one (somewhat extended) lunchtime. Couldn't believe the speed and noise. It's much more of a spectacle up close. It's like chess with cars. You don't even need the best car, just the best tacticians. Freebird is just the icing on the cake.😊

Rumor has it the band is actually not allowed to play this song anymore at a concert out of fear a literal all out brawl breaks out in the audience...

My favorite win of Earnhardt's. I loved the rub marks on the door, man was not afraid of anything. And yes I do believe Nascar died with Earnhardt.

Back when NASCAR was racing and if you saw Dale in your rear view you knew you were in for it! Those were the days! I can't even watch it today. Straight garbage.
