This song is a masterpiece and her voice is absolutely stunning! She did it perfectly and has a great control. Also the dancers did great. I firstly didn't notice this song, I'm not from Slovenia, but after hearing it several times I'm obsessed with it. In my opinion she was terribly robbed by juries, she was superb!

About "Jaz sem, ti si , Veronika"
Considering that the poem tells the story of Veronika (1380-1425), a real person who was accused of witchcraft for the first time in Slovenia and therefore drowned, the verse "I am, you are, Veronika" means that even today everyone can be unjustly accused and punished.

This song is about the legend of Veronika Deseniška. According to the legend, once upon a time, the powerful Ban Count Herman II of Celje ruled this area. While wandering around his father's estate, his young son Friderik caught sight of the gentle golden-haired beauty Veronika. A mutual love flared up between Veronika and Friderik, which was not to the liking of old Herman. Despite his opposition, Friderik and Veronika fled to the Fridrihštajn manor near Kočevje in Slovenia, where they were secretly married. Old Count Herman quickly found out about their marriage and sent an army after them with the order to capture the lover. Friderik managed to rescue Veronika from the manor and she escaped via Gorski Kotar and Kalnik to the village of Sveta Margita. Frideric was captured by his father's soldiers and imprisoned in Celjska Castle in a tower, narrow and about 23 meters high. He was imprisoned here for more than four years. Since then, this tower has been called Friderik's Tower. Veronika was imprisoned by Herman's soldiers in Veliki Tabor. Herman accused the unfortunate Veronika of being a prostitute who seduced his son. They organized a trial that lasted two full days. On the eve of the second day, the judges declared: "Lord ban! There is no guilt, let alone crime, to be found in this girl. He only has great love for your son Friderik. But, too bright ban, love was never a sin, let alone a crime. Love is one of the most beautiful human virtues! With this, our work, the enlightened ban, is finished." Despite the verdict, Count Herman, as soon as the judges headed for the exit, ordered the commander of the castle to kill Veronica. They placed a wooden container full of water in the yard of Veliki Tabor and drowned Veronika in it. Her dead body was built into the wall that connects the pentagonal tower with the entrance to the castle. Nevertheless, even today, especially during the long winter nights, in Veliki Tabor, when the wind howls, you can hear the cries of the unfortunate Veronika...
