The surfing POV while paddling to the outside... I can absolutely resonate with the breathing lmao. I never leave comments but honestly Jade, you're documenting the real journey of someone who starts surfing later in life, who has ups and downs during and between surf sessions. It's totally normal to feel like you're improving in some sessions and feel like you can't catch a single good wave in other sessions but trust me, your surfing evolved a lot these past 2 years and I guarantee if you watch your older videos, you'll also acknowledge it. Personally I do other sports besides surfing, like yoga and padel and it truly helps - you reset the mind, you remind yourself you do things because you enjoy doing them!! I also beat myself up a lot when it comes to surfing and when those thoughts start spiralling, then the surf is just not good. Let's accept we're not where we want to be yet but don't forget to appreciate the journey! I understand part of the problem is social media and all the pressure, but like I said, you're documenting a real journey and that's beautiful because it's real. Sending u support and good vibes from Portugal ❤
I love how honest you are about your anxiety and self doubt 💕 finding the best way to approach difficult things that scare us is so hard and you’re killing it!! Very inspiring keep going 🫵👑💅🫶🏼💕(love from 🇮🇪)
This isn't hard data, but the flipside of every person who writes a hate comment are the number of people you inspire with your videos. Surfing ain't easy! It's really difficult. I've been surfing for about 9 years and am still be embarrassed post clips of me surfing. Thank you for your down-to-earth, real-life surf content. Thank you for being vulnerable and creating a space for me (and I'm sure others) to feel like we're not alone in our surfing journey. Appreciate you so much! Thanks!
I love that your involved in this surf competition, whilst everyone else is going about their boring lives, keep up the good work, I also got hit on the with a surfboard too and needed staples, believe me it happens to the best of us not just kooks, you are not a kook btw, your intermediate and your doing excellent 🤗🏄
Honestly I truly love the videos and you quickly became one of my favorite content creators to watch -just because you are you. I appreciate the videos love them. You got this! Also love the vlog parts its so fun!
I really love your videos Jade! I'm also of the team of people who don't comment often, but seeing your channel is really refreshing for me and I think it really helps people out who are not good straight away at things. Whenever I surf I feel like you mentally, sometimes I'm scared, sometimes I feel really frustrated, sometimes I'm disappointed by myself. Honestly, the learning journey is hard. Seeing you face similar issues as myself and going through things, going out even when you're scared, it's really inspiring and motivating. I'm really sorry that you face so much hate from the surf community, even tho you try your best to tell them to go elsewhere if they want to see pros surfing, but in between all those haters are the people which you inspire and who might not comment, but we see you and appreciate that you share your journey in a honest way. Stay strong and thanks for putting yourself out there and showing us what learning to surf actually is for some people, it's not always perfect but you keep getting better and you do your best! One day you'll get there (and I swear we see your effort and improvements) !
Jade your dedication is so inspiring, and your ability to stand back up so fast after being dinged in the head is so amazing, one time I was also hit on my head by a board, and it was kinda similar, but unlike you it took me a long time to surpass my fear and surf again, instead of complaining about your fails, highlight your braveness and how persistent you are, also I recommend that you start doing exercises specifically for building space below your torso, that helps so much with your pop up.
Jade, You are inspiring & amazing. Your natural ability to engage with your audience & sense of humor is admirable! You surf great! We learn every session. Hope to see you in the water someday. Mucho Aloha
Your really really good at content also your so amazing at pushing yourself and also so aware of yourself like good at reflecting on yourself it’s amazing
Such a fun watch! I really feel your pain, I grew up in Germany but moved to Australia 8 years ago and started surfing at the age of 20. I surfed my first amateur comp a few months ago, didn't quite know what I signed up for....horrible conditions, 15min heats, 3 other guys out, caught 2 close outs and that's it. It's a strange feeling to be in the water with only 15min or less on the clock and having that pressure to catch a wave, in free surfs I sometimes sit there for 30min+ not catching anything.
Right on! I give you so much credit on not only doing the contest but, your entire journey. Born and raised on oahu surfing my entire life, and I'm still not as brave as you are. Keep inspiring! Aloha
even if i'll probably never do surfing as a legit sport as a city boy, i love your videos so much queen, and i found the segment where you went to talk to those kids about what you do and to encourage them to follow their passion so sweet! i think kids deserve adults who really listen to them and help them discover themselves. thank you for being so inspiring and for spreading good vibes :') also im gonna take that mean comment and crunch it up and throw it away for you
Been following you for a while my friend Love to see you growth much respect for your resilience and I hope yyouhave much more blessings in the year to come

Love watching your vids! I started surfing a year and a half ago and I can relate to so much of what you are sharing so it’s nice to not feel alone in this. Your journey is incredible and you improved so much so quickly! Keep sharing your experiences and inspire many!! Sending love from Tel Aviv ❤️
Hi jade not sure if you see this or not but I found you after I self taught myself to surf you are amazing and inspire me sadly I am only 12 and can’t live at beaches like you so I rely on my year trips to my grandmothers beach rental house that we rent out 4 time a year and I love surfing I got to the port Aransas texas beach and the waves aren’t the best but I still love it. I bought a wet suit and than later a foam surf board from one of the local shop and have stared my surfing addiction about half a year ago. Thank you for being my role model to keep going. what surf boards do you recommend for short board beginners? ❤ love you!
you are probably ly the most inspirational person on here for me, i really want to surf but i live no wear close enough to the beach so i’m building up to going on more longer drives just to get to surf. i know no one’s going to start perfect but if i keep going i think i could end up like you ❤
I know you always say how you get in your own head, but I hope you also recognize that you're one brave and strong lady!! I've definitely gotten to the beach, seen the conditions, gotten scared to paddle out there solo and noped right on back home lol kudos to you, stay safe out there!!
It's OK to lose. Failure is part of the process, you just gotta improve day by day.🙂 (a bit off topic but there is a great dubbed documentary about a french youtuber training day by day to climb everest, check it ou if you want)
You seem to be able to read and catch waves. Practicing on a skateboard would be helpful. You're getting waves, but eating it. Skating will help your balance....
Learn about Josh watzkin, he wrote a book about learning quickly (former chess grand master) and he took on surfing. You’re a hard worker but your strategy can be “smarter” if you know what I mean. No hate, just want to see you succeed
5.02 When you pop up, your hands should be close to your lower chest and your ribs should be clamped. Spinal recurvature causes your hips to be too high My eyes were too low and I wasn’t paying attention to the situation at the end of the wave. You should keep your spine parallel and step on your back foot first. When you’re ready, step on your front foot hard.
Surfing is sacred.. people are all about keeping the kooks out of their scene .. i think the way you come off as a "spazzy TH-camr" is a big reason for the hate .. also pro should make you wana go surf if your not having fun i dont wana watch.. so have fun 🤙✌️
not really sure its a good idea to go out in pretty heavy conditions a week after a head injury... and definitely not a good idea to get another head injury in those conditions.. please just respect your limits
I think you focus too much on the “abilities” part and not enough on the “having fun” part. My best times in the water were just me messing around not caring how perfect my turns were.
You better be joking, Jade if you read this dumbass comment this Steve guy posted, ignore him he's a complete asshole, I love that your doing surf competition, keep up the great work

Hi, Jade. Keep on preaching that it's okay to try and fail--it's the becoming in the present that's important, I think.
Yay. Thanks for another video jade💕 hope you have a blast competing
Jade, You are inspiring & amazing. Your natural ability to engage with your audience & sense of humor is admirable! You surf great! We learn every session. Hope to see you in the water someday. Mucho Aloha
Love these vlogs so much especially seeing the reality of learning how to surfing :))
Your really really good at content also your so amazing at pushing yourself and also so aware of yourself like good at reflecting on yourself it’s amazing

You're doing an amazing job, I tried surfing once and failed so badly, I am so amazed by what you are doing

You can surf you do alright I split my head open twice and been surfing for 8 years and still got a lot to learn keep doing you love the content

8:53 my left ear enjoyed that entire surf montage 😂
Also I’m saving up for my first surfboard
Don’t let bad people affect you, Jade. They are all crazy and envy you because their lives suck 😂

Good Job! You are lucky to catch anything at El Porto. Every time I have gone there it's closeouts.
Good job surfing the waves
what camera do you use? i’m getting into similar content but don’t know what to use 😂
Hi Jade how are you happy new year to you and I hope that 2025 brings you a love and happiness and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter
Fall in love with the process not the outcome
The conditions says everything. Completely normal
Just off the title, that book looks really interesting. Gotta pick that one up.
I really want to learn how to surf but i don't have an ocean etc near me
You seem to be able to read and catch waves. Practicing on a skateboard would be helpful. You're getting waves, but eating it. Skating will help your balance....
Topaz and sapphire are my home breaks.
Lomita Kaiser. That’s my hospital!

This girl is a badass. :-)
For the sake of your enjoyment and psychological health You need to start surfing for the fun of it and not to achieve perfection
Surfing is sacred.. people are all about keeping the kooks out of their scene .. i think the way you come off as a "spazzy TH-camr" is a big reason for the hate .. also pro should make you wana go surf if your not having fun i dont wana watch.. so have fun 🤙✌️

go home kook
You want to get better? Surf more, vlog less....You dont have to document everything. Be in the moment.
This is such a narrow minded statement
Bro she vlogs because its her job and if she likes to do it let her
Shouldn't you be in medical or law school ? Stop this Surf competition nonsense!!!
Dude let people do what they want to do
You better be joking, Jade if you read this dumbass comment this Steve guy posted, ignore him he's a complete asshole, I love that your doing surf competition, keep up the great work
I hope your joking right now because you sound so naive rn bro
He is being sarcastic
Im so proud of you!!! I love watching your videos and seeing you experience life as a surfer. So fun. Please don’t feel down about yourself. 🩷🩷🩷
