- Directed Energy Deposition or DED is a category of additive manufacturing processes that use a coaxial feed of metal material of powder or wire. These materials are led to an energy source (usually consisting of a laser) to create a melt pool on a base substrate. DED usually uses a nozzle head on a dedicated CNC machine to deposit and melt the material at the same time quickly and with minimal waste.
FIX
Repair existing geometries of failures or defects. Extend the life of parts.
ADD
Deposit material only where needed. Provide wear resistant coatings and create additional structures on existing parts.
FORM
Create precise structures with complex geometry. Use less material and machine less.

This is the most intense engineering video ive seen. I love it.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
HYPE
Whoever made this video has got some insane editing skills. Mate you can make boring shit look so badass !
This music is so powerful ! I didn't even know what this machine was. Now i want to buy one and watch it work forever... without protection glasses... while Odin's son beats my heart with his hammer
Incredible footage combined with intense music really amps up the experience.. and then it makes a vas
thats incredible! additive manufacturing is the future as long as they keep developing methods so post production costs/time is minimized.
Amazing Directed Energy Deposited additive machines
I feel like I'm watching a Michael Bay Movie
This is the sickest video I've ever seen
The most hype video IN THE WORLD
Everything is EPIC if you have music in it verygood Music 1000/10
crazy video frfr
haredest video of all time
Excellent DED Process!!
this video didn't have to be that rad! but i'll take it!
Straight from Hollywood
that's so intense - i love it
Engineering rocks 8)
SO COOL!
It's so awesome!
Mech is on fire 🔥
🔥
Hello there,
Question, why is it necessary to alter the plane of the nozzle and of the printing surface?
what an epic vibe
Costs about 4 arms, 6 legs, and a kidney
Nice piece of equipment.
Maret bener 100%top abissssss
vase mode can be made soda can. But grids on surface is other level. CNC grids is expensive and time consuming. DED is good solution in make grids in my opinion. Like we see in 1:51
Good stuff, thanks
Super video..
what a background score fab.
I want to ask what all those lines on the outside of the part were, but I just keep remembering my buddies from mechanical engineering and their statics course.
At what temperature do they print!!?
I need to get in contact with this company. I’m a senior engineering student and I’m leading my capstone team in developing a metal 3D printer. I’d love to talk to the engineers that made this or see their notes on it.
can introduce another axe for smothe the surface already printed?
BADASS
wow this is soo cool and have already 4 years. make it cheaper because i want to give step ahead and pass from plastic FDM to metal FDM/DeD
Music name???????
nice
Wich Material Do you print and how many Watts Haß the laser?
Typical DED materials are stainless steel, nickel and titanium alloys. Our machines use 500 to 2000W.
which liquid used in the pipes.
Metal powder. Might be aluminium
Deionized water is the only liquid. Argon and metal powder are also ran though the pipes in the head.
@@alHailHale Some of the metal powders used in this video are Inconel 625, Inconel 718, and titanium alloys. Aluminum is currently still being tested.
this music :-D
Sauce?
Background music 🤦♂️😂 As if DED is the most badass manufacturing technique ever...😂😜😎
We don't claim that it's the most badass of manufacturing techniques, but we do think it's pretty cool. 😉
Dear Santa....
OMG .
i am afraided
